I think you are right, they just must be a bit too starchy for us who are more sensitive. I agree, the smaller the better!

Well, intuitive eating really did work well yesterday although I'm still tweaking noticing hunger and fullness. I was 122.7 today. So basically same as yesterday at LIW within an ounce. I found that more protein and fat really helps me feel better. I just try to notice portion size and fullness.

123.3 this morning after eating milk kefir in a smoothie (no fruit) and zhucchini zoodles. I don't know if it was the kefir (I hadnt added it before) or the zoodles. I am not going to worry about it. But just noticing hunger and fullness and happy when I pay attention to this. Just staying on the cheer leading and positive encouraging self dialogue.

If you didn't previously get a big jump (like over a pound) from either keifir or zucchini's before, its just a fluctuation. A half pound is a fluctuation. Thats why there is a 2 pound window each way. You are right not to stress it!

You'll be tweaking that hunger/satisfaction signal thing for a long time. I'd say it took me close to 2 years to get really confident about recognizing my signals.

You will feel more satiation when you eat your food, instead of drinking it. I have read the body has mechanisms to extract collagen and minerals from the cell walls of foods; those are disrupted by the grinding process.

So true Leez! Yes, was back at 122.6 which is a bit below LIW today. Wow, 2 years! That encourages me to just keep working on it and give it time and patience with the hunger and fullness signals. It does seem to stump me at times but just trying to visualize what a normal portion size and then listen to my body but be overall reasonable.

    Interesting gz9gig, I hadn't heard that before!

Yesterday I made this delicious homemade ranch dressing for a big salad. It was cream cheese in the blender with pickle juice, garlic and herb seasoning. Then I crumbled in some blue cheese and had over arugala, meat, chopped celery and some hot sauce. So good. Salads are esp good in the summer!

Well, woke up to 125 exactly on the scale this morning and not sure why the jump. I was 123 yesterday. TOM is about 8 days away. I had the homemade blue cheese dressing on my salad for lunch and dinner with lean meat and lots of veggies. I had a 2 percent greek yogurt with cocoa powder for a snack.

I am honestly perplexed but going to drop dairy for today. Doing a high protein day as I don't do well with fasting for very long. I will lower calories. I was trying to be careful yesterday and not sure why I had this jump.

Leez, do you have any observations or recomendations? Thank you.

Yes. Don't lower calories. It's fine to do the high protein day if you are not over your window.

If you are over your window, you can do one of the alternate correction days listed in that thread. Several of them allow you to eat through the day. A 2 pound jump usually requires some kind of action.

    Alternate Correction Days that work

My guess would be that its TOM related, but the rule is to do a correction day any time you go over the 2 pound limit regardless of the reason.

You'll flush the extra water weight early that way and not have to feel bloated.

If you feel the dairy is causing problems, it might be wise to put off re-adding it again until after P3 is completed.

That is excellent advice, thank you Leez. My LIW was 122.6 so did jump a few lbs. I was 123 exactly yesterday.

I have ground beef which strangely enough I do better weight loss wise eating beef than chicken. I will do a ground beef day. With small portions of ground beef for each meal. I find this lowers inflammation for me.

I love greek yogurt and cheese but do sense that it might be an issue possibly and should just hold off till my weight is more stable.

Oh but it doesn't help that I do feel pms and craving salt and cheese and salty things. Haha. This too shall pass.

It can help to cook your beef in coconut oil, especially if your beef is lean. You could also make some cocoa crack candy. That may help with the cravings.

Hope your day goes well. I always found that correction days were not bad once I got going. What can make them difficult is the mental dread of having to do them.

Also, don't skimp on the beef. Make sure you have a minimum of 12 oz over the day (and lots of fat). Correction days are not about restricting calories. You have have to fight that cultural programming that tells you eating less will cause weight loss.

I worry about eating too much poultry. It's probably coincidence, but US poultry consumption has climbed, and we are fatter than ever. In 1960, we ate more beef (63 lb vs 34 lb) but in 2022 it was 60 lb beef, 112 lb poultry. Obviously more meat overall, but the ratio flipped, too. I'm trying to incorporate more beef, fish and pork in my diet.
