P3, TOM and more- please help! 😢

Hi guys. I'm really hoping to find some answers- or at least absolve some of this misery by talking to some others about what is happening.

So, I had a successful P2 with no cheating. Lost 18 lbs. First/second day of P3 my house was hit by a stomach super flu and destroyed us (two of my roommates were with me on HCG). I ended up curled around my pillow in my room, eating watermelon and drinking water. I lost a bunch of weight, then managed to bring it back up as I healed. But I was working at a Health Food Expo right after and the guy I was working for was a complete monster- he wouldn't let me take breaks or anything so I ended up eating bits of whatever people would bring over. I know there were sugars in some of it (usually coconut or agave) and starches like quinoa. I just couldn't not eat. I thought I was going to pass out.

Post show I've done a steak day or two, high protein days.... but I am back up to 117 - 119, depending.

I've screwed up a bit, trying to recover from the illness. The protein bars I used had rice flour and something else I shouldn't have had- so I nixed them and replaced them with Quest bars.

Is there some way for me to recover from this?

I know that it is my own fault... I'm just trying to fix it now. Yesterday for breakfast/lunch I had a bunless burger from Boston Pizza: the manager showed me a list of alll the ingredients, so safe there- with a plain salad. Coffee from Starbucks with milk+cream and sugar free sweetner. Then another coffee. I did HOURS of walking yesterday and then we stopped at Purdy's for some sugar free chocolates (190 cal, maltitol) and I had a lamb skewer from Opas. Then tons more walking. Dinner was a little late... around 8 pm... but it was a bunch of steak with an apple. I had a second apple for a snack but that's it.

Here's the thing. My Period Tracker is telling me TOM is right around the corner. I'm a day late. I'm really erratic with symptoms. But I'm thinking that I have water weight going on here. I'm presently 117- four pounds over my last weight.

What should I do? Maybe attempt a steak day? High protein? P2 eating? I'm feeling a little lost and a lot miserable. I feel like I'm just losing a sliding battle and it's making me miserable.

    Any advice?

How far along in P3 are you?

If you feel bloated, you can do a steak day. That will bring the water weight down. I would stay away from fake foods for a while. Malitol in particular can cause problems for some. Also milk is not a very good P3 choice. The milk sugars make it a little too carby. Better dairy choices are cottage cheese, greek yogurt, heavy cream or hard cheeses.

Also... I have only five days left of P3. I feel like I should be more stable. It's scary now. My TOM is like three days late (no, no chance of pregnancy) and part of me is desperate to believe that it's just water weight. I've been pretty active the last week, walking for hours at a time.

A late TOM is very likely to be messing with your scale numbers. Also, you may need to adjust your LIW up a couple pounds if it doesn't go back down. The cheats in P3 sometimes will make that necessary.

I'd just stay on track, eating simply to satisfaction, and if you still are not feeling stable by day 21, its not a problem to stay in P3 a while longer until you are more comfortable.

I really appreciate the support. Thank you so much. Sometimes you just need to talk to someone else who understands, you know?

For sure. P3 can be very scary. After all that effort in P2, we freak out if the scale start to show any kind of gains at all. It feels like the gains will just keep piling on. But if you trust the process, and just stay on plan, things tend to even out.
