P3 next week - Lose or Maintain?

I will finish with P2 on Monday and have been trying to look ahead at P3 and figure it out. I have been really pleased with my weight loss so far. Even though the holidays are coming up, I still have the will power to do what I need to do to lose more. But can I continue to lose on P3 or is it just about maintaining? I'm really not sure what to do. It doesn't seem to be as clear-cut as P2. Do I use another diet approach until I can do another round of HCG? Please help...

    Hi,
I have been one to cheet thru some of my diet...I did lose 15 - 20 lbs. within 30 days...When I hit maintainence it was another experience in it self! Introduce foods and see how it goes. So far.... with me...dairy protein has been a big ticket. I get on the scale after dairy and wine and always remain the same! First weigh in during the morning has remained the same since close to three weeks now! People in my life really know now that HCG works! and how focused I was when on the drops!.....I have different eating habits because the process is different! .....Like i already KNOW...before HCG....
keep it up! Its all good....

In P3 the goal is to maintain!

Stay away from sugars and starches. Keep your protein up, carbs low, and don't worry about fat. You'll need what will feel like a lot of fat in order to bring your calories up. Use olive oil, coconut oil, butter, heavy whipping cream, avocados, etc.

Be sure to introduce new things slowly so you can pinpoint any food sensitivities.

    Phase 3 information
This thread has a good summary of what P3 looks like. There are tons of other threads about P3 too so read up on it before you start. You should not try to keep losing weight on P3- the goal is to stabilize and let your body take a break from losing weight.

If you do P3 and follow Atkins induction...you will continue to lose. If you add fruit and nuts etc, you will not lose.. Thats my take on it. High fat and protein, under 20grams of acceptable carbs per day.

Round 1: October 17 start weight 194.5.......... end weight 169.0..... 30 day round 25.5 lbs lost
*****took 10 days off for P3: didnt follow P3 because of planned parties, Thanksgiving Etc. 6lb gain then 2lb load gain

    Round 2: November 29 start weight 175.0...

Round 3 (hopefully final round): April 22 start weight 162.5

It's time that more of us realize we have all been brainwashed over the years with the 'low fat' mantra...never have there been more low fat options, and never before have we been fatter as a society. Money makes the world go round.. these multi national companies never had our health as a consideration....too bad so many of us bought into their mentality. We have a world of information at our fingertips now, with the internet....research more, entertain yourself less.... just remember that we live in a world that is profit driven.
    Carpe Diem !

How long was your first round? When I went on to p3 last round I totally stablized which was great but I know what you mean....you want to continue losing. I get it!! I pretty much did Adkins and didn't lose but you might have luck. What I would do if I were you and you just did a short round is just take a planned interruption for Thanksgiving for a few days or a wk then jump back in it. That is what I am doing this time because still have more to lose and then I have time for 3 wks back on p2 before Christmas. Just be careful and stick to p3, don't go crazy or you'll gain, all your hard work will be a waste.

Absolutely the most succinct and and understandable summary of P3 I've read! I just didn't completely "get it" until now. Thank you so much, Kar! (1st day of R1P3 for me today).

No, I did the 40 day. I've lost 25. I guess with the holidays around the corner, maintaining would be a good outcome. Thanks for the advice.

Blau. I am also on r1p3d1!!!! Looking forward to my birthday dinner tonight. Having done Atkins before I am familiar with what I can eat and to not worry about fats. I'll be having my favorite blue cheese chop salad. A steak with the blue cheese crumbles on top and their fabulous green beans. I'm also going to have some red wine just because it's my birthday dinner and I haven't had wine in along time. Hopefully all will be fine on the scale tomorrow. Good luck everyone.

Wow Blau we parallel each other real close..........I hear ya on the wanting to keep loosing and the lotsa fats is scary......... I gotta get my head around the having more to eat.
I love meat so I hope I can eat ample of that to full fill the calories and slowly add in other allowed food items.................. my question is are we supposed to just into the like 1600 to 2000 calories
the first day after the VLCD that is done with out hCG or are we supposed to gradually add more calories or just jump in with both feet.
