Yes, baba ganoush is an awesome P3 choice. All healthy, P3 ingredients. And a great vehicle for good fats.

Technically, you don't have to wait to start or test anything in P3. I did my first couple of rounds without any kind of testing or introduction pattern and stabilized fine. Its more important to get in tune with your hunger and satisfaction cues in P3 to make sure you don't stay hungry for long and that you eat enough each time you eat.

If you wish to be more cautious, the most common problem foods are dairy/cheese, nuts, eggs and you can do an introduction pattern for each of those leaving a couple days in between. Those that are even more cautious will test everything they haven't been eating it in P2. This is a bad idea, and totally unnecessary.

A good way to approach it is so eat freely of what you are allowed, and avoid things you know are problem foods for you. Wait till you are in a few days to start adding (or testing) dairy, nuts, eggs. Use the first couple of days to enjoy simple meals with good fats added, but with any varieties of meats, non-starchy veggies and some fruits and then branch out based on how your see your body is handling that.

That being said, lots of people like to start off P3 with eggs and bacon. If you are one of those, you certain can do that and it will be your egg test.

Thanks Leez! That's very helpful! I'm struggling with what to have for breakfast and I'm not necessarily against eating a steak...but eggs sure sound delicious so I'm going to give that a shot. Bacon, maybe day two. I need to find sausage that doesn't contain sugar or MSG. Its shocking what kind of crap you'll find in the ingredients!
