    Phase 3 information

Hello all! Here's a link to a helpful list of P3 foods and when to add them in. I used this my first round and stabilized perfectly the first 3 weeks. I'm not able to eat wheat, gluten, etc so I had a few steak days in p4 but this list did help.

    Hello,

Yes fats are allowed in P3.. but they should be good fats Coconut Oil, olive oil etc. Also, the sugar and dairy in ice cream is the problem. Peanut butter is not a good idea early on, as peanuts are a legume and can cause problems. Also unless it is all natural peanut butter made with just peanuts, salt, and oil it probably has sugar in it. You have to read ALL the labels carefully for any hidden sugars or starches. HWC is ok in coffee because it does not have pure milk in it which is high in sugar. I did not tolerated HWC well and switched to sugar free coffee mate french vanilla. This has not caused me any trouble but may cause you some problems so use with caution. I have not tried any sugar free candies and won't until I get closer to the end of P3. I know some people use them without trouble though. Good luck in P3, it is really a better life!

I'm confused after reading this sticky. If you only eat 800-1000 calories in your first week and never make it up to your maintenance calories until the 3rd week (and then maybe not until the end of the 3rd week, depending on what your maintenance calories will be), how do you not lose weight?

No peanut butter, because peanuts are NOT nuts... They're legumes, and legumes are forbidden. Legumes cause gains.

Also: check out what goitrogens are, and avoid them. I discuss it on my blog (click the "blog posts:" link in my avatar and see the posts with 'goitrogens' in their name).

Avoid all inflammatories as well in P3. Don't eat eggs, nuts, all things made from cow's milk (cheese, etc.) until P4. Dairy has sugar in it -- that's right, SUGAR -- so it qualifies as something to avoid in P3. Sugar in dairy is wrapped up in lactose, which when broken down, releases sugar. Lactaid milk is a good example of this; it's really sweet, because they broke it down (the lactose) for you.

Are sugar free candies allowed or anything that is sugar free? Also I read that heavy cream is better for your coffee than half and half? that just seems weird to me. You can have a greasy piece of fatty chicken but not ice cream? What are things that are fat that you are suppose to eat on P3? Ugh so confused

I'd love to recommend this guide to others, as I see it worked for you and that's great....but they allow eggs in P3, and other inflammatories, plus goitrogens such as soy (goitrogen is "thyroid inhibitor"...soy is THE WORST goitrogen due to its potency)......

Eggs are inflammatory culprits, and only a few people can handle them in P3 without gaining. Soy is bad no matter WHAT phase we're in, as it inhibits thyroid function and digestion consistently. Soy is also a culprit that is possibly responsible for the growing epidemic if Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). This is due to the fact that it paralyzes the vili in the intestinal tract. The vili are the little finger-like extensions coming out from the walls of the intestines, and they help breakdown and absorb food. When they don't "wiggle" or do the breaking down or absorbing, we get digestive problems.

I find it incredibly ironic that the same people who make Activia -- Danone in France/Dannon in the US -- make a lot of soy-based foods. Perhaps they noticed the need for something to "help" offset the effects of soy after they ate their own product...

Yep, soy: the biggest cause of intestinal damage you never knew about! Sorry for the sarcasm; I could cite hundreds of studies where soy is implicated in damaging digestive health. These studies are NOT paid for by Monsanto. Monsanto, on the other hand -- the company that had the designation of soy changed from "unfit for human consumption" in the early 20th century to a "miracle food" as it's promoted now -- has funded thousands of studies that promote the "benefits" of soy.

Soy affects the body in so many, many negative ways (phytoestrogens, is a goitrogen, possible culprit of IBS, and more) it's incredible. Thing is, soy is SO CHEAP to produce, it makes money for all the businesses that include it in their products. Example: hear of that water, or that cereal, or that snack that has "10% protein!" in it? Ever wonder where that protein is coming from? Most likely, it's soy. Manufacturers LOVE soy because there's a huge return on investment for them because of it. It's terrible.

So, I'll get off the soapbox now. Just be on the lookout for all the things we never knew (consciously) were bad for us. Pay attention to how your body feels when it digests a food, and that's half the battle; know your body, and be aware of how it feels when you eat, and you'll be better off for it.

Well, I'll be crossing my fingers that the 2 eggs in my first p3 breakfast wont cause me problems, I had a 2 egg chicken ,broccoli, omelette with salsa and small sprinkle of cheese on it.
I guess I'll find out in the morning if I'm one of the ones ok with eggs, gosh I hope so.

My phone app says i can have puffed millet for breakfast, will a splash of non fat or 1% milk be ok even though we're not supposed to have dairy ?

So it's going to be a 1 or 2 skin on chicken thieghs or a ribeye with grilled onions for lunch.
and Cod fillets for dinner with ???? still working on that one

Try to avoid eggs, broccoli, tomatoes (they're in salsa), and cheese from now on, okay?

I do not believe millet is great, because it is a HUGE goitrogen. I'll just post a link to the list here: http://hcgdietinfo.com/hcgdietforums/entry.php?b=16719

    Dairy...that's a no-no, so no milk.

Thing is: for P3, stop thinking of breakfast as a time to eat...breakfast food. WEIRD, I know! Eggs can come later, as can dairy, and all the other stuff that makes people gain in P3.

Eggs are usually the first thing people try and they are generally okay for the majority. That's not the case with cheese. I wouldn't add dairy now. I've seen so many problems with it that I'm starting to say not to add it the first week. and millet is NOT okay. It's grain. Milk is bad too. It's worse than cheese because of all the carbs in it. Fish is about the very best meat you can eat, both for health and for weight stabilization. And of course broccoli and any starch free veggie is fine.

    Good luck!

So i'll just go back to p2 cookbook and eat a bigger portion of the chick steak or fish for now.
I did think tomatoes were ok for p3 though.

but the real confusing part of p3 is I thought dairy was a no no, but in the p3 recipie thread and the food **** thread in p3 section, they have all thoses darn recipies with cream, cream cheese, shredded cheese ect. whats up with that ?

I love the cauliflower pizza from there, i made it just about every weekend after last time.

the 2 things i was going to try this weekend was the coconut flower pancakes and sunday i was going to do a cauliflower pizza, but maybe i'll hold of on the pizza for now :-((((

Yes tomatoes are fine for P3. I would not touch cream cheese in P3. I've seen sooo many people gain and I have no idea why that is. I love that cauliflower pizza too! My fave. If you can find raw cheese, it's usually okay right away. And I wouldn't go back to P2 food only. You will find it hard to get in enough calories.

thanks, for the help girls, I made the crock pot chicken today from the p2 cookbook, and instead of a tiny 3.5 oz piece I plan on shreading the 6 breast and filling me up a bowl full of it as soon as it cools off, maybe put a splash of olive oil on it for a little fat i guess. We'll get it figured out and back on track. chick steak n fish no carbs, starch or dairy, chick steak n fish no carbs, starch or dairy, chick steak n fish no carbs, starch,or dairy.
I got it 3 weeks then cauliflower pizza ! Do not look in food **** thread either
