Steak N Shake Day - my most effective correction method

    Hey fellow P3'ers-

I just wanted to share a correction day that I have been doing since my last P4.
After trying quite a few and having pewpew results I discovered Steak N Shake Day as a fluke when attempting to do Deanna's Shake Day. Anyway, my losses have always been 2+ lbs the next day so here's hoping yours are too!

    I consume:

1 protein shake around 11am made of 2 1/2 scoops whey protein powder (or 2 scoops whey, 1/2 scoop egg white protein JAY ROBB ONLY), 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder, about 4 oz water, about 2 cups ice and a few drops vanilla creme stevia.
1 giant *** steak with tons of butter on top
    1 apple

You can't have fruit in your shake because it's P3 and that plus an apple is too much fruit. I use cocoa powder and it tastes really good. Having the shake earlier in the day really helps with that all day hunger and once you get to the big huge steak you can finish it off much better because you don't feel nausea from not eating all day. I also drink way more water than I usually do on Steak N Shake Day. Around 3 liters.

    have fun!

This is a great idea. What's your average loss/release on a CD? thanks.

I'll have to give this a try today.
I'm on day 4 of P3. On day 3, I woke up to a 4 pound weight gain. I did a steak day, but it did not lower my weight. I havn't eaten any carbs, so I'm not sure what could have gone wrong. I'm also a little confused as to why the Steak Day didn't work.
Wish me luck on my Steak 'N Shake day!!

my average CD loss is 1.6

Steak and Shake Day always yields 2 or more for me.

Glenbo: good luck on your steak and shake! sometimes 4 lb weight gains could be from something that's causing inflammation like a food you added too soon. Inflammation causes water weight gain.

    Thanks!
I'm thinking that the culprit(s) could be the "Low Carb" snacks that I ordered. When they came in the mail, I just had to try some of them. Even though they were almost zero carbs, they could have caused me to retain some water... Or maybe my system wasn't used to the different foods.
Do you think that packaged "low carb" snacks are OK on P3, or should we be sticking to more "natural" things???

I would never eat anything processed in P3. It's going to really shock your body.

I just wanted to say thank you so much!! I did a normal steak day last week and only lost .6 lbs. So, when I had to do another one yesterday, I followed your Steak and Shake day just as you described. I was down 1.8 pounds this morning!! This was awesome...thank you so much for posting it here!!

Ok, so I'm kind of doing a shake n' steak day. I do a boot camp workout at 6am during the week so I made a shake super early (not 11am) with soy protein 1 scoop (Trader Joes, no sugar or any carbs at all) and some of my husband's GNC whey protein 1 scoop which also had no added sugars. Then used some unsweetened cocoa powder, stevia, but I used skim milk instead of water. I'm hoping this doesn't mess it all up.

My office is freezing so I can't drink ice cold water from the cooler all day. I'm drinking herbal tea non stop instead. It's lunch time and I'm slightly hungry so I put a little heavy cream in my tea. Hope that's ok. Figured it was since we can use it in coffee. :/ Then I got a huge steak for dinner. So, here goes nothing.

Did an egg day yesterday but it didn't work. I used some eggbeaters and wondering if that made the difference. Sigh. I've done egg days before and had them work. I'm 5lbs up so I might need to do more than one steak day in a row. That's ok right?

I don't know. First time I ever drank a really loaded with protein shake in the morning, and this has been the first day I haven't been stomach growling starving by lunch time. Wondering if there is something to that. Maybe I should start the day with a big protein shake every day if it's going to have that effect! And I drank it at 5:30am!!

Guess I didn't mess it up that badly. I lost a pound this morning. I did better with an egg day-lost almost 3lbs. But I'm doing another shake n' steak day today since I'm still over the 2lb limit and I figured I'd give it one more shot. I like the shake in the morning so I'm not starving all day long. Seems to hold me over enough. Then I dirnk herbal tea with heavy cream in it and that seems to keep the hunger pangs away until I get to the good part- STEAK!! I ate almost 2lbs of steak last night!! Piggy!!! But it was sooo good. I think I could eat like this every day!

This morning's shake was 2 scoops whey powder, 1 scoop soy powder, a little heavy cream and then water, and a tablespoon of cocoa powder, then powdered stevia. It was awesome. Tasted like melted chocolate ice cream!! And I'm not hungry at all yet and it's lunch time. I might end up doing that as my morning breakfast every day . I've come to figure out that the more calories I consume early in the day, the less I want to pig out later in the day. That's just my body. Funny how you figure things out about yourself when you experiment. It's jsut so hard to not freak out over the fat content of things. All my life I've been conditioned to stay away from food with fat in it. No one ever said watch the sugar and starch!!!

I really hope this works for me! I'm drinking my shake now. I'm using super advanced whey by body fortress, but two scoops is 104 grams of protein..is that normal? What type of pp do you use/recommend?

I only use Jay Robb's Protein Powders. They have 25 grams of protein, 0-fat, 0-cholesterol, 0-sugars, and only 1 gram of carbohydrate per 30 gram serving - AND he only uses xylitol & stevia to sweeten them.

I have found them at Whole Foods, some GNC stores, or the prices are pretty decent at jayrobb.com. I have been buying the individual packets and trying out all the flavors before I buy a larger size (the 12 oz bag is about 33% cheaper per serving than the individual packets - at least at Whole Foods they are).

Oh, and so far the Protein Powders actually taste good too! An added plus :-)
