I keep thinking about this, Leez. It's so true. All those years we thought we were terrible failures, we were just masters of a flawed and destructive system. That awareness feels like a major shift away from shame and towards health and liberation. Three cheers for that!!

Such an interesting choice of words... as a friend said at lunch ... Yvonne is so good at dieting... but did mention the n sll the time dhe has known me... how I struggle to keep it down.... however this. coming from someone .. who desperately need to llse weight as her diabetes has her in a wheelchair... edema in both legs insane and I noticed some serious scars that could bring on gangrene... WILL NOT change her habits... i offered to pay for hcg... i offered to cook keto meals for her... i got stone walled at the point that she would not change her breakfast which is oats... she needs a desperate hip replacement but not willing go loose the 22 lbs the surgeon wants her to
Lose.... how does it happen that a person gets to this point????

She can be proud of me but not willing to fo anything gor herself....??

I think its hopelessness that can come from many failed attempts. Or successful attempts even, that couldn't be sustained. You can eventually come to a point where you just don't want to go through that disappointment again.

As for not changing her oats breakfast, she would have to like something better for her just as much. The best alternative I've found to my fave bowl of oats is a warm chia seed porridge made with almond or cashew milk, sweetener and blueberries. When I had to be grain-free for a while, I found this sub to be the most satisfying.

Leez... I think she has basically given up on life itself as she mentioned that She will most likely not be around for next years birthday celebrations... i see her depression but she has no incentive to pull herself out of it... another covid fatality as she basically lost her income as a result of lockdown and her immobility....

I watched this exact thing happen to both my parents, despite all my best efforts. In my experience, the best thing you can possibly do for the ones you care about is to lead by example. It's up to them to make their own choices. We can only save ourselves and show compassion to others, offering help when they ask for it. That's my experience, heartbreaking as it can be to watch those we love kill themselves.

You have a beautiful heart and soul, Yvonne. XO

It hurts to watch people self destruct....

    1 C boiling water
1 C. lemon juice (I use the bottled kind)
1/4 tsp stevia extract powder (you'll have to experiment to get your best amount)
    1/2 tsp mineral salt

Dissolve the gelatin in the boiling water, then stir in the rest. Sometimes I'll add 3-4 grams vitamin C powder or some baobab powder for the extra C

You're going to have so much fun with this, Yvonne! I used to have a mold of little hearts I made little collagen jelly candies with. Too fussy for me to use long term, but it was a delightful novelty at the time. ENJOY!

I love that it comes with a little dropper for filling the molds. That's brilliant.

I always thought it was such a pain to dribble in the liquid. This should make it fast and fun.
