Talking to Doctors Office Left Me Frustrated, Scared and Confused.

    Hello everyone,

Iím hoping to get some insight. I am on a 40 day program. Today is my 38th day and Wednesday was supposed to be my last day of injection. However, I ran out and my last injection was this morning. I measured and followed directions meticulously. I have no problem with this being my last day but out of caution I called the doctor to make sure that this was correct. The lady on the phone told me it sometimes doesnít come out to exactly 40 days. Okay. I then confirmed that Thursday would be my first day on P3. She agreed.

She then told me that I need to slowly increase my calorie intake. 800 calories on Thursday and then after a couple of days 1200 and then ďslowly work up toĒ 1500. Everything I have read and all of the advice I have gotten has told me that we want to get our calories up as soon as possible to prevent our bodies from going into starvation mode because the HCG has been working on 2000-2300 calories a day. That we absolutely do not want to slow that down.

She finished the convo with ďgive us a call when youíre ready for your next 40 day roundĒ

I feel like Iím being set up for failure and Iím so confused and frustrated.

She has just planted this little worry bug in my head now.

    Opinions? Advice?

Ignore the clinic. They are giving you bad advice about slowly ramping up calories, and you recognized that.

The slow ramp up plan is actually pretty common advice...but it is based on failed diet propaganda that has been flung at us for decades. It is not part of the protocol.

Go with the advice on this forum. These are the people that have experience with what works.

You can take a couple of days to get up to 1500, as your capacity may be low after the time on the meager P2 diet. That is why we encourage including lots of good fats, especially at the beginning because that helps get your calories up without a lot of volume. You don't want to force feed and make yourself overfull, so if you don't quite hit the 1500 the first day or two, that is ok, but you should be there by day 3 and then you can continue to increase until you find your balance point.
