    Trouble getting calories

I am struggling to get enough calories in P3. I cannot do a lot of fat--I have an ulcer and fat aggravates it. I can have some, but I cannot have a lot. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to raise calories yet keep away from starch and sugar without adding a bunch of fat?

you are setting "your" metabolism, so it may look different for you based on your body. I would try to eat what you think you would like your regular intake to look like for 90% of the days. So lots of lean meats, veggies and any good fats that do not aggravate it. Can you do things like avocados etc, eggs.

Not a lot of eggs or avocados. I can eat a little bit, but too much and especially at one meal is not good at all.

Maybe protein and nutrient rich smoothies. You can get a lot more veggies in if you drink them. Add protein powders, or dense proteins like greek yogurt or cottage cheese in whatever fat version you can tolerate.

Bone broth has a good amount of calories too (40 calories per cup)

    Hi All,
I have been off of here for quite a while (life) But I have been on protocol and lost well during my 2nd round. I am now on the last few days of p3 and I can't eat. I was diagnosed with gastroenteritis. I haven't really eaten for the last 3 days and only have two more to go til p4. I have gone 4lbs below last injection weight. I ate a few pretzel bites today As they were the only things I could stomach.l am wondering as I get better and can stomach food will I be ok?? I am worried I might have screwed up my stabilization. I will continue with p3 once I can eat again (hopefully in the next day or two). Any suggestions? Will I still stabilize?? Any help is much appreciated!

I think you will be ok..just keep an eye on any gains. P4 is not a ticket to eat anything you want without a possible gain. It is a lifestyle change. So keep you eye on things and if you start to gain clean it up, for a few days eat lots of good proteins and veggies (no dairy, no grains)...

    Thanks, april01
I will be very careful in p4 I think I will eat p3 for the first week since this last week has been a disaster. I am allergic to dairy and eggs so no problem staying away from that. I have always done very well on this diet and never deviated from protocol. This past week was scary for me since I really have eaten nothing . I just want to be sure and stabilize as I am at goal ( a little below since being sick)
    Thanks again!!
