OH PENSEE! I am SOOO sorry to hear that.

With all my travel for work & having to eat at hotels & restaurants this kind of sensitivity is just killing.

Oh, Pensee, a sore throat is NOT fun! Hopefully that and your tummy will heal soon, and you won't be sick!

Your ratios look good, sweetie. Very good!

My favorite tea: Earl Grey, by Bigelow. Get the regular kind (NOT DECAF)....as Earl Grey Tea has oil of Bergamot, which is a natural ****gesic (****gesics are pain relievers). It always makes me feel better. And the Bigelow brand individually wraps their tea bags, so it's super-duper fresh!

Don't forget to drink about a gallon of water, along with all the caffeine you're drinking. This is especially true when you're sick -- water is really important to help the body "eliminate" and being sick is a time when the body is working hard to do its job.

Hope you feel better soon, Dear Pensee!

AW: The Ultimate P3 Correction Day: I Lost 2.6 lbs on a Chicken Thigh Day!!!!!!!!!!

We don't ve the same brands here as in the US. Got twinings wary grey at home. Ll give it a try. Ve been having hot lemon (brewed with the peal) with ginger. They also r great for colds, but need to change it up a bit.
    Thanx for ur wishes.
Weighed 66.8 this am. Guess I ve lost ca 1# yesterday. Still ca.3# above LIW, but well...
Starting pcds today. Had one of the left over drums from yesterday for breakfast. And added some butter in my coffee (1 tsp). I know u r not a fan of butter at this stage, but don't ve a choice tu up my fat intake. The only animal fat I can get here is either pork or goose with 10% pork added. Don't ve time to find a source & make my own at the moment. So butter ll ve to do. Still ve some duck legs, ll ve 1 for lunch & one for dinner. Haven't figured the afternoon 'snack' yet. Was thinking of beef broth. But don't think the meat I got is fatty enough.
Anyway, hope it works. Not the best time to do this with my throat, but It's better today, and I really need to de-inflame my body again.

I just had the best correction day. I had gone up 3.6 lbs overnight due to tom on R2P3D3. I had an organic rib eye steak about 12 oz and an apple, lots of coffee with hwc & lost 5.4 lbs !!! I am now 1.6 lbs under LDW ! Woo hoo.. the next 2 days eating very clean P3. Eggs & guacamole for breakfast, angus patty with mayo (no sugar) for lunch & ground beef for dinner with a little sugar free salsa. Keeping the calories around 1500 to a max of 1700 since I don't want to overdo it & tom is kicking my butt & messing up my stomach big time. I've never had such a huge loss on a steak day, must of been a ton of inflammation from tom but who cares
    Goal 120 (highest weight 248 Jan. 2012)
    MediWeightloss Clinic, lost 52.4 lbs
    R1 hHCG lost 27.5 lbs.
R2 hHCG lost 17 lbs from LDW 29.6 from loading
R3 hHCG lost 21.4 from LDW 29.6 from loading
    LDW 129.2 total lost 119 lbs !!

pandora: congrats on your loss. You HAVE to know that 5.4 lbs lost on any correction day is....way, way unusual. You're an anomaly! Most people don't do anything close to what you did on that steak day. In fact, many people lose *very little* on a steak day or *gain*....

One other thing: eggs aren't the best choice, and may have been the reason for your gain before you did this correction day. Were you eating eggs before this? If you had been eating them, and you'd been gaining, I would personally advise you to stop eating eggs.

And although I'm REALLY happy for your loss, it really doesn't have anything to do with chicken...so, just wondering: any comments on use of chicken in any loss day for you? If you have any experience with chicken, please post that here.

    Hiya, Pensee!

When you're in a pinch, you DO have to be creative, so I applaud you for that!

Also, glad to see you lost a lb yesterday -- WOOO HOO!! As for butter, it's a weird time for your body. You may suddenly develop sensitivities that you never had before; you may not. I have *no* idea if the butter will be one of those weird things that happen. But weirdness abounds in Phase 3!

    GOOSE!
GOOSE IS AWESOME!!!! Use it as MUCH AS YOU CAN throughout the PCDS as a food source, and SAVE THE FAT from pan drippings, and add it to recipes throughout your PCDS. Goose fat is FANTASTIC, and a great cooking fat to use later, when you want to deep fry/pan fry anything. You can also use it as a base in sauces!

    REGARDING PORK
And you're in Germany, correct? Something else that's awesome: I believe the pork there is likely HEALTHIER than pork in the US. They tend to treat their animals better than the US does....and better treated, better fed animals makes for better quality meat. LOVE the Germans for their dedication to quality!

So, in Europe...I have less fears for you with pork than I do in the US.

    FOR BEEF
POT ROAST BEEF is your *best friend* in PCDS. It's got the best ratio of ANY BEEF out there, PCDS-wise. If you can find beef used for pot roast dishes, use that one. And the "select" grade is great.

IN FACT...ANY "select" grade (do they have that grading system outside the US? Perhaps, perhaps not) beef will do. If you don't have the same kind of grading system, here's how to equate it to other standards. I'm listing a helpful little "shortcut" that anyone can use when trying to decide on the grade of beef to get. Ready? Here goes!

From highest grade to lowest, remember: "PiCS!"

P is for "Prime"...C is for "Choice"....S is for "Select." Higher grades mean LEANER and HIGHER IN PROTEIN beef. So...for the intents and purposes of the PCDS: the "SELECT" variety will do you good! And, GREAT NEWS: the "Select" variety....is the LOWEST PRICED! WOOO HOO!! My budget is happy! So, when thinking of meat, think of PiCS!

**NOTE: If you get anything in a package, check the SODIUM content. If it's "marinaded" (marinated?), in a sodium solution....find another alternative. That's the BIGGEST danger with PORK products.

AW: The Ultimate P3 Correction Day: I Lost 2.6 lbs on a Chicken Thigh Day!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats Pandora. Happy for u. Just make sure ur mayonaise doesn't contain soy.

    Gonnaloseit
We don't ve that kind of grading here. And yes, ground beef doesn't say the fat percentage! Ppl here r not THAT fat phobic. I just try to get organic meats as much as possible. The most fat here is in ground beef or soup meat. But ve to eyeball the % age.
And I don't eat pork. I didn't grow up with it. And even if the animals r kept better it tends to b inflammatory cause of the tissue similarity to human tissue. That's y they used to transplant pork organs & sometimes still do.
Got some lamb yesterday & will get some goose when I get back home. They re getting in season now & r easier to get than in summer.
Ate ca.1500 cal yesterday (tracker said 1620) with 70% fat. Duck legs r great :-)
I know what u mean with feeling ur stomach increasing acid production. Baa. Doesn't help my sore throat. 66.8 again today. It's my second day of pcds & my first day if the business trip. Got all my good for today packed and ready to eat. Will take it one day at a time.
Getting greedy though. Do u think (if I finally stabilize) I can do another cd followed by pcds to get closer to LIW? If so, when would u do it?

Sorry for the long post. Ve great day everybody.

    HI Pensee

CONGRAAAATTSSS on your continued success, honey! I'm happy for you!!! I know it's a crappy day due to your being sick...but at least you can celebrate having not gained any weight for that day!

AWESOME point about the mayonnaise and soy. I check for soy in everything so automatically, I forget to remind others sometimes!

FYI: hey all...a popular "no-sugar" brand of mayo named "Duke's" has....ta-daaaa....soy. It uses "vegetable oil" which is another way of saying "vegetable oil."

So, if anyone is wanting to use mayonnaise today...check your label for "vegetable oil" along with sugars.

As for the similarity between pork and human tissue: WOW. That's an unexpected point, Pensee! WOW...I need to know more! I'll look into this and see what those characteristics are exactly (which parts are more like humans, which ones are used in sausage, etc.). Great heads-up, Pensee!!

Pensee...one more thing: as to continued CTDs, you can do them, and I'd advise doing them every other day. I'll make a post about this.

BUT....good news: many people CONTINUE TO LOSE during the first few days of the PCDS. It's still "calming down" and that's why losses continue!!! PM me for details. I'm helping a couple folks do this...let me know if you need any guidance on this.
