Well good, glad to hear you're on Day 3 of PCDS, so that means carbs are on their way back in. Salmon will be a good choice, so will flounder and mackerel. I assume the "Day 3" is the first day of carb re-introduction, right? So you're in the 1-3% range. That should be fine, if you balance out any avocado carbs with the fish and whatnot. Keep up the good work, dear Pensee! Keep us posted.

My blood pressure is normally 90/60, so pretty low & I ve to take care not to get too little sodium, else it drops even lower. Water weight from inflammation ll come off eventually anyway.
Ll go down for breakfast in 30 min. Wish me luck.
Avocados ll b my only carbs added for today, if I get them. Hass ve only 3-5 g per fruit, I can live with that.

hi every one, pensee and gonnalose it thank you i loved your conversation just the information i was looking for, almost all my questions are answered simply by reading your replies,
just one more ,same as pensee i'm on my 2nd day PCD and tomorrow ill start introducing carbs ( one avocado for breakfast) is this enough to cover 1-3% carbs for the day and i seriously need another thigh day can i start it immediately after only the 2 no carb days of pcd or should i start adding carbs and if so for how may days i only have 12 days left of my phase 3 , do you think i can extend into phase 4 till i feel more secure about stabilizing?

    i guess those were like 3-4 questions,hahahahaa
i'm terrible with numbers ,any way i would appreciate any help

Hi lilies! Good to see you here.

    And thanks for the compliments!

I'd recommend, if you want to continue to reduce the inflammatory response/weight gain you experienced in P3, to do this pattern, in your case (as I know you have a few more pounds to lose than just 2):

    CTD
    PCDS day 1 (no-carbs)
    PCDS day 2 (no-carbs)
    PCDS day 3 (carbs, 1-3%)
    PCDS day 4 (carbs, 1-3%)
    CTD
    PCDS day 1 (no-carbs)
    PCDS day 2 (no-carbs)
    PCDS day 3 (carbs, 1-3%)
    PCDS day 4 (carbs, 1-3%)

Now, you CAN push CTDs up earlier, and not do PCDS....but as I'm hearing reports of a few people following this strategy and they're consistently losing on PCDS itself (due to their bodies recovering from an inflammatory response)...I'll stretch out that timeframe to now recommend the strategy posted above.

FYI: for those of us who like research stuff, like myself, I'll start posting links to research studies covering inflammatory responses, and how your body handles inflammatory responses. For now, I'll mention that cortisol is one aspect of an inflammatory response (also called a "stress response") that has influenced me most; the carb-reduction strategy has to do with minimizing spikes in bloodsugar/cortisol in the bloodstream.

As for the rest of your inquiry, dear lilies: avocados are great for days when you're re-introducing carbs. VERY good. But VERY potent. So a little goes a long way with avos. Cucumbers, peeled, are the most carb-stretching friends you can have on PCDS. It takes a LOT of cukes to make a difference in your ratio.

I'll assume you've read The Guide, right lilies? Follow the carb re-introduction schedule by using a little bit of avos, and a decent amount of cukes your first day that you re-introdce carbs (which is PCDS day 3). And your tracker will tell you just how many those are. Don't forget: ALWAYS weigh your food AFTER cooking, and choose the COOKED versions of foods.

AW: The Ultimate P3 Correction Day: I Lost 2.6 lbs on a Chicken Thigh Day!!!!!!!!!!

Sweetiepie, Thanx for the tips. Döner is a great idea, didn't think of it. And I ll try the burger place if I can.

Gonnaloseit, Thanx for the time schedule, looks good.
Well, breakfast was smoked salmon, abt. 1/2 scrambled egg with extra butter, coffee with cream, lunch: beef patties, chicken leg, dinner: lamb filet with herbed butter, lettuce & spinach with evoo. Eyeballing the amounts 3% carbs, 59% fat & 38% protein.1550 cal. Can't keep the ratios for the 4 meals with the busy conference schedule & having to take ppl out for dinner.
Ll try to stay low on carbs, maybe increase a tad to 5% or so till I get home & check the scale. But my trousers feel o.k., so I don't think I ve gained. Ll c. Didn't ve time to go to supermarket yet.
Ll try to stay more or less

I wanted to share my AMAZING results using the Chicken Thigh Day and the post-correction day strategies. I've waited a week to share my results so that I could ensure everything "stuck" as the plan intends. It did!

My LIW was 111.8. My weight crept up every day for the first 13 days of P3 (I only did one steak day, which was on day 3, b/c while it DID yield a nice loss, it came right back on the next day ... so I didn't want to do it again).

Then, I disocvered the Chicken Thigh Day post. On day 14, weighing in at 117.2, I went for it. Here's how my weight played out:
Day 14: 117.2 (chicken thigh day)
    Day 15: 115.0 (2.2 pound loss!)
    Day 16: 114.8
    Day 17: 114.0
Day 18: 113.0 (started gradually adding carbs)
    Day 19: 113.0
Day 20: 112.8 (started gradually increasing calories)
    Day 21: 113.0
Day 22: 113.0 (up to full calories: 1,800 per day)

I followed GonnaLoseIt's strategy faithfully and my results speak for themselves. I'm confident I COULD have gotten back to 111.8 if I'd kept my carbs lower for a few more days ... but I decided I was happy at 113 (so that's when I began increasing my veggies and calories) and couldn't stop dreaming about asparagus and cucumbers

I'm essentially in P4 now, but still taking it very slow (maintaining my diet from the last few days of P3). I think I've finally stabilized! Wooohoooo!
    Round 1 (30-day course Nov-Dec 2011):
    Post-Load Weight: 135.5
    Ending Weight: 119
**Stabilized at 122 for 7 months, ate anything I wanted**

    Round 2 (30-day course August 2012):
Post-Load Weight: 126.8 (I had maintained 122 until I went to Italy in June and had ankle surgery in July)
    Ending Weight: 111.8
**Current Weight: 117 (My doctor failed me. I spent the first 3 weeks of P2 starving and lost dermal fat. I am angry.)**

    I'm 5'0, 35 years old, and now a size 2/4 petite.

    Hi,

Trying to read this thread which is really interesting but so many posts I'm overwhelmed. I'm doing P3 but noticing alot of inflammation. I'm actually +.08 LDW and essentially doing very little carb 3 % or less. So I find what you guys are doing to be the thing I want to try this P3 or at least see if it's for me. What do you suggest I start reading to get really familiar with PCDS ? Is there a blog or guideline ? Also forgive my ignorance but I notice I feel better with less carbs & about 1.0 under my LDW. If I follow this way of eating are you guys trying to stabilize on P3 or lose weight ? Is this a short term way of eating or can I eat this way throughout P3 ?

AW: The Ultimate P3 Correction Day: I Lost 2.6 lbs on a Chicken Thigh Day!!!!!!!!!!

    Jillybean, Congrats
So glad it worked for u.

Pandora, read the entire blog. We r all having trouble stabilizin & trying to get back to LIW. The chicken thigh day + pcds are to lose weight. If u wanna stabilize only, u basically do what we do at the end of pcds: figure out cal u need to maintain. Keep ur carbs (mainly from non-starchy veggies low)... and, what's also important keep ur cal from fat higher than those from protein & don't go over ur daily limit of protein (120% of ur weight as g of protein). Too much protein is converted in our bodies to glucose/carbs.
    Good luck.

Thank you ! I will be reading the blog tonight when I get home. Here is my dilemma for ex. today I went up again ! Now I'm 1.2 lbs over LDW & I want to be at least 1 to 1.5 under LDW. I had 1458 cal, 61 % fat, 34 % protein & 6 % carb. I had 2 tablespoons of guacamole & half a cup of greek yogurt, other than that I had 2 salmon burgers, hwc, 2 boiled and home made 3 chicken burgers (this was my menu for the entire day). So I think I really will do better with a more concrete idea of what to eat. Right now I want to keep losing and then think about stabilizing later. I posted on another thread & got the usual, eat more calories or drop the eggs/greek yogurt, eat clean P2 etc etc. This would be my 6th day of P3 ! Frustrating to say the least. Thanks & will read up later tonight and hopefully be able to start over the weekend.
