    Hi hilda.

    When you stop losing weight, and gain a little, or stay at the same weight for two days in a row, you can start increasing. That's when your body is telling you it's time to add in carbs (veggies).

    There is a "carb re-introduction schedule" in the PCDS guide -- use that for knowing how much carbs to add in when your body tells you it's time. Then, follow the 20/20 strategy as also described in the guide, and you'll be fine.

    NOTE: both SQUASH and EGGPLANT are starchy and are NOT approved for adding in in PCDS. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. You can't just add in ANY vegetable. There is a link in the guide to the approved list of vegetables. REMEMBER: if a vegetable isn't on the list, ask me first if it's okay; chances are, it's NOT....but there may be a couple that are. You are eating for living well, not living to eat. So stop thinking of vegetables as "fun to eat, so I want them" right now; you can eat for pleasure after PCDS. That doesn't mean you'll eat horrible vegetables...but it DOES mean you need to re-adjust your thinking about your food.

    i read about the squash but i didnt see Eggplant thats why i asked

    Eggplants ve 5.3 g of carbs/100 g, so they re borderline (squash has double that amount). I do love them too. But they re also night shades. So u shld really avoid them till u ve stabilized completely.

    Okay so here are my updates, I'm officially 1st day of p4 today I have been stable for the past 7 days on 2 pounds above my ldw.
    I actually got a little out of protocol in the past week but no harm was done
    So I'm hoping for a nice and stable p4
    And i can't wait to start my 2nd round and hopefully my last

    I AM SOOOOO PROUD of you, sweet lilies! And I'm very happy to have helped you, no problem.

    It's 3 weeks for the time between P3 and P1 for your next round when going between round 1 and round 2....so enjoy your 3 weeks of P4! Yaaay!

    Remember: just follow your hunger, honey. Don't worry about eating when you're not hungry -- don't do that -- and don't try to eat a ton of food for your daily caloric intake either. Your body is stable, so you can throw out the tracker and ratios and whatnot...you've reached the magical 7 days of stabilization, and can now just eat whenever you're hungry, nothing more nothing less!! WOOO HOOO!

    And, to reward your hunger, just carry a bag of Fisher's "chef's naturals" Walnuts. It is cheaper than the ones found in the snack aisle (these are found in the baking aisle), have no added sugar or sodium, and have a ziploc top that's resealable...great for keeping in your purse!!

    So reward your hunger, and stop eating when you stop being hungry. Also: be sure to determine WHAT your body is craving before you look in the fridge. If you're not sure of what you want, eat some walnuts like I do, and you'll be fine.

    Last but not least: ALWAYS follow the cardinal rule: eat a meal that is EITHER: high fat/medium protein/low carbs (hflc for short) OR low fat/medium protein/high carbs (lfhc for short). Remember what Simeons said: the minute high fat and high starch/sugar/carbs are combined, things are very likely to get out of hand.

    So you can eat the two types within the same day. You can eat the first type at breakfast, the second at lunch, and the second at dinner. Doesn't matter overall. BUT DO NOT COUNT CALORIES or carbs or anything; just use common sense. Know what's in your meals -- know which foods have high fats, high carbs....and adjust accordingly. If you have a choice between the hflc and the lfhc options, choose according to your tummy. Your body will tell you which of the two is better at that time.

    Update

    Good morning .. little gain but is fine back to 198.2 ...from 197.4 yesterday (too good to be true) i guess was that eating late thing ... so i ate salmon (wild caugh) and for some reason everytime i eat it i get a stomach pain , feel weak , the first time was before yesterday and i felt so sick i vomited then i tried yesterday felt the pain for a while walked IKEA drank water had to sit down then felt better ... it may be for eating fat last time i ate fat and greasy food was in 2007 .. so my body have to adjust ....

    Hi Hilda. Sorry to hear you had a bad day yesterday.

    The gain we need to take as a sign your body is ready to move forward with the carb re-introduction schedule. Go back to the guide, and read that section, and introduce carbs accordingly.

    Cucumber is a good carb to introduce today, your first day with carbs. You'll be in the 1-3% range. Instead of introducing a little at each meal, I like to introduce my veggies in one meal...but it's really just a preference, not a mandate. Cucumbers, with apple cider vinegar, fresh ground pepper, and some sea salt...yum!

    Other veggies are great, this one is best for where you are at now.
