I was up today as expected glad I did chicken thigh day yesterday to head off the gains. Today is day 1 of pcds.

Shannon maybe have more avocados to get the cals up there. Might make carb count a little high but adds calories and they are easily digested

    Wow...that is amazing.

    I love Germany. Very progressive!

And...wow, you thought of me, dear Pensee? That's really flattering!

I'd love to hear more about this approach the doctor has put together! Seems like he and I think alike. Big fan of what you mentioned...and yep -- his approach is in line with what I'm thinking!

Really interesting & goes against most stuff that anyone else says. In a nut shell: if we can't digest our good properly, what ever remains will b fermented by gut bacteria causing toxic cmpds (gases, alcohols, aromatic cmpds etc). These r absorbed & will activate our immune system & intoxicate the liver first. Until it can't cope anymore, then it will intoxicate all other organs as well & stimulate our gut immune system causing inflammation & autoimmune reactions.
The interesting thing is, besides the usual recommendations of chewing really well, tasting every bite extensively, eating without distractions, etc is that he is totally against too much fibre. He says ppl with digestion problems should really reduce their wholegrains, veggies & fruits to bare minimum. Make everything really easily digestible by cooking & even pureeing if needed. Eat 6 mini meals throughout the day & here it comes: for induction (gut healing/ bringing down inflammation fast) he actually recommends 1-3 days of easy digestible meats (fish, poultry & veal) with butter, hwc or olive oil to up calories without adding bulk! I couldn't help but thinking of GLI & ctd/pcds!

Shannon - what cals are you trying to get to right now? the sedentary count?

AFM: I was a little lower nothing stellar down .8 at 126 - gonna take a few days to get this off. Still no BM and doing ginger tea (2 days) 4 magnesium at 250 and 2 mag chloride, really?? My colon is such a pain in the *&%%%, lol.

Yes going for the sendantary and I got a different amount on different sites an it was anywhere from 1550-1680 and yesterday I was at 1630 calories.

I'm flustered and upset that today I am up a full lb and am basically gaining back all Ilost from the CTD and then the couple of days after that I lost as well. I can't just eat meat every day and nothing else! For one I can't afford it and for two who the heck wants to just eat meat every day for the rest of their lives!

    UGH!

Okie doke. Just replied to your PM, but I'll re-iterate here....

Looks like you went over your protein ceiling (limit) of 120%; I believe it caught up with you, unfortunately. Ease back on the protein for the next couple of days, and you'll be fine. Whenever you decrease protein, fill in the space that was filled by the protein amount you decreased with low-glycemic carbs. Faves: onions, avos. Mushrooms are good too, but not as calorie-dense. Onions are best for this.

Then, in the next couple of days, I want you to start introducing a couple of things that may help boost digestion -- if you are able to tolerate spicy foods, that is! Turmeric, cayenne pepper, black pepper, ginger. Put them on your foods, and see how that goes.

Also: remember to drink the nearly gallon of water with lemon in it. It really helps. Caffeine is good too. Just no soda.

Try that, see how it works.

I feel your pain Shannon! Everytime I add in veggies, avos or eggs, I gain a couple pounds! Then I do another CTD, and lose it again! I would just love to eat like a normal person. I'm craving a really good piece of wheat bread, toasted, spread with goat cheese, sliced avos and tomatoes and sprinkled with spike!! Now does that sound unhealthy? WHEN CAN I EAT THAT??? ARGH!

Hello all - reporting in for an update...this is PCDS Day#5 - and my stats are as follow
    Started: 10/11 at 184
    CTD I lost -2.0 (182)
    PCDS -2.0 (180)
    PCDS -.5 (179.5)
PCDS +.5 (180 - back up why?? dont know)
PCDS -1.0 (179) (oh yeahhh loving this)
So I am plugging along trying to watch my intake of carbs to get back on my P3 grind. p.s. watching out for those wintergreen mints my frenemy... Thank you all for the loads of information. I do have one question for Danielle, this ginger tea and 4 magnesium at 250 and 2 mag chloride is this something we can do in P2? P3 no problem - very regular - TMI (sometimes 2-3 daily) but in P2 - once a week - miserable. Can you provide detail information. I hate resorting to salt water drinks or the magnesium citrates each week. TMI...but hey we all been there done that..uggh : )))
Also...ladies which do you consider my LDW the day I took my last drops where I weighed 184 while on my TOM...or 3 days later after my TOM ended and my weight dipped to 181? I counted 181...but want to be sure..but loving this 179 if I can maintain it..
    Round 1 5/1/2012 (225) End Weight: 198.2
    Round 2 7/17/12 (204.5) End Weight: 181
    Lowest weight May 2014 - 175.2
2014-2017 returned to bad habits and regained everything!!

    **2017** Restarted 8/28/17 (236)

Doing RX lozenges 250iu ...so far great dose for my body
My goal weight is 155 by June 2018

I guess I don't understand how I hit 120 % of protein, yesterday my protein was at 27 % so I am confused even more now.

So far today here is what I have eaten and what I will eat before I leave work

    Breakfast 6am
    2 chicken thighs
    small cucumber

    Lunch 10:30am
    2 chicken thighs
    2 medium celery stalks

    Dinner 2:30pm
    8 oz Chuck roast
w/1 whole onion and 5 whole mushrooms that were cooked with the roast along with the juices from it

So that gives me so far

    1157 - Calories
    7 % - Carbs
    59 % - Fat
    34 % - Protein

The only other things I have that I can eat today with me are 2 medium celery sticks and 1 small cucumber. The worst part is I haven't even eaten my roast, onions and mushrooms yet but need to eat them no later than 3 pm before I leave work and won't be home till around 6:30pm and bed time is 8:30pm adn then up at 3am. But I am stuffed just from what I have eaten today already!

I drink a gallon of plain water a day along with many cups of coffee and tea so I am getting plenty of fluids and I don't ever drink anything else other than water always have.

    Hi Shannon!

Didn't you tell me you went over 120% of your protein limit via PM earlier, a day or two ago?

So, here's the 120% explained: if I am 122 lbs, 120% is 1.2 times my body weight (which is 146.4) translated to grams. So, that's 146.4 grams of protein, which is, caloricly speaking, 585.6 calories from protein. And, it was the previous day before that, I believe, that you mentioned you went over your protein limit ceiling, not the previous day.

Regardless of the math right now, this is what I want you to do: reduce your protein, up your carbs, keep the fat the same. AND get those calories up. What is your LIW/LDW this round? Is it, as your signature seems to say...118.6?

So let's calculate your correct calorie amount for PCDS. First, use this one. NO OTHER calculators, ok? You mentioned that you're looking at other calorie counters....dunno why; the one I'm about to link to is the only one we need for PCDS. Here it is: http://www.calculator.net/calorie-calculator.html

I'd calculate it myself, but I don't know your age and height.

USE THE sedentary setting ((just for PCDS)). Then post here how much it says you should be getting for calories.

Here is what I want you to do for calories, as far as upping them goes: use ghee, avocados, onions, beef, and I'll think of a few others... Beef is a very calorie-dense food. Ghee and avos will help you TREMENDOUSLY. A couple pages back Pensee (thanks, dear!) posted how to make your own ghee. It's just clarifying butter, essentially. That's what ghee is. And get organic butter; that's best. I believe I've heard good things about kerrygold; try using that brand.
