    Zithromax

So, if you read my post (Chili Powder), you know that I started P3 on Thanksgiving. I added in green beans, swiss cheese, black olives (all things I didn't think were a big deal as they were fine with my in R1P3) and Friday I made some chili with ground beef, spices and basically the ground beef & tomatoes I assumed I'd be fine with, too. I do realize I was throwing too many new things into my diet at once...so I understand if my problem lies in this paragraph right here.

I was 1.2 lbs. over my LDW on Friday morning (which was not a big deal to me, as I had been dealing with major constipation for going on 2 weeks) and then woke up Saturday morning at a whopping 3.8 lbs over my LDW. Saturday was an automatic steak day for me. This morning (Sunday) I dropped all of 1.4 lbs...so I tried my first ever high protein day. I did cheat and have 1 oz. swiss cheese simply because I couldn't stand not eating it again. I'm almost more in love with cheese than chocolate now...sad.

But I just had a thought. I had to go in Wednesday night to get antibiotics for a sinus infection that came out of nowhere; no cold, no allergies going on - NOTHING. It just started as pressure in my face when I bent over until, by Wednesday night, my whole right cheek was throbbing and I couldn't put it off any longer.

I was given a Z-pack (generic, if that matters) and it just donned on me a little while ago maybe that was the reason I've gained - or at the very least, did not have a successful-as-usual steak day loss??? I know we're only supposed to have aspirin & birth control is fine & I've taken Benadrylwith no problems on the diet all the way through R1 and P2 of this round...but haven't needed it in weeks. I've been under the impression that anything else was to be avoided as it contained ingredients that would cause stalls or gains, right?

I looked up the ingredients just now...below is what I am copying from another website.

ZITHROMAX tablets contain azithromycin dihydrate equivalent to 600 mg azithromycin. The tablets are supplied as white, modified oval-shaped, film-coated tablets. They also contain the following inactive ingredients: dibasic calcium phosphate anhydrous, pregelatinized starch, sodium croscarmellose, magnesium stearate, sodium lauryl sulfate and an aqueous film coat consisting of hypromellose, titanium dioxide, lactose and triacetin.

ZITHROMAX for oral suspension is supplied in a single dose packet containing azithromycin dihydrate equivalent to 1 g azithromycin. It also contains the following inactive ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, sodium phosphate tribasic, anhydrous; spray dried artificial banana flavor, spray dried artificial cherry flavor, and sucrose.

I'm seeing starch and sucrose in there - is it possible the amounts are high enough that would be my problem??

I am taking my last dose right now...it would make me SO happy if that was my problem and the beef & tomatoes & swiss cheese were both totally fine with my body.

Has anyone else had problems on P2 or P3 while taking azithromycin??? Or am I just grasping at straws, here, hoping for an easy answer so that I can go running back to my chili and cheese again in a day or so?

the med should not be a problem. it's more likely you're retaining water due to being sick. but the chili makes some people stall, too- sometimes it's the beef/tomatoes combination, sometimes it's water retention from the spices.
