    Doing the Fast Metabolism Diet after Phase 3

    What exactly is the Fast Metabolism Diet? Has anyone here done it to where you've seen such good results, such as eating starchy foods without gaining weight?

    FMD is really great at fixing carb sensitivity. You'll be amazed at how much starchy food you can eat and not gain if you construct your meals properly. Its not a free pass to eat refined flour/sugar products though. You'll be concentrating on vegetables, fruits and sprouted and whole grains with some lean protein on those days.

    Where can I get some more info about the FMD? What do you mean that it's nor a free pass to eat refined sugar/flour products?

    You'll understand the answer to your second question if you read the section on that page about what foods to avoid for all phases.

    If you decide FMD is something you want to try, my tip is to get the app that is available. It makes it really easy, as you select your meals from only the allowed foods for the phase day you are on. You don't have to remember anything or work from a bunch of charts.

    So, let me get this straight. This diet is less than 2 weeks, approximately 7-9 days, right?

    FMD recommends staying on the program for 28 days minimum. You can then add weeks or months as needed, or adopt a maintenance strategy.

    Thanks for the app link. As of now can you at least eat sprouted breads, English muffins, hash browns, butter, cream cheese, dairy and yogurt without gaining any weight?

    I can't eat gluten so the English muffins are out for me but I eat other gluten free breads, butter, cream cheese etc. But be aware that might not be the same for you. Dairy problems are very commonly an underlying driver of weight gain. You will need to test those things in P3 and if you gain weight on them, nothing will fix that. When someone has a dairy issue they lack the enzyme necessary to digest it and no diet can fix that. What FMD does is help with carb sensitivity. The dairy is an entirely other animal.

    Are you asking if I personally eat those things without weight gain?

    Because it doesn't really matter what anyone else eats. We all have to find a way of eating that works for our own bodies.

    I do eat dairy and sprouted grains, but its not unlimited. I consider butter a good fat. I don't eat hash browns, because it is a starch/fat combo. I would eat an english muffin if it was made from sprouted grain.

    I was thinking if this would work. I plan a soon as I finish Phase 3, and start on phase 4 by November 7th I'll take a break from this diet. While in the meantime I'll try to maintain my weight around 167 lbs by substituting almond flour. Then by sometime next year like January I'll start doing the Fast Metabolism Diet, and staying on it for 28 days. Would it be possible at the end of this diet to set my new weight point to 165 lbs? That way whenever I start another round of hCG I'll end up weighing exactly 155.0 lbs at the end of the three weeks of the injection.
