I would have to say that I'm glad I did all the programs: FMD (fast metabolism diet, Hayley Pomroy), THM and the Plan. I learned things from each of them. FMD really fixed my carb sensitivity I had developed after multiple HCG rounds and somewhat buying into the low carb is best for maintenance myth.

I want THM to work for maintenance, since it is the most flexible and peaceful to do long-term. I'm not sure I'm quite there with it yet, but I've been making progress. I was able to enjoy a several month long period with no gains. I haven 't yet figured out how to lose anything with it.

I did not find the Plan to be sustainable, mostly because I couldn't accurately interpret my data. I never even came close to being able to eat like myself, and the water rules are super restrictive when you are testing. But it did identify at least a few problem foods that I probably would never have figured out any other way. And yet, I would do it again, at least the cleanse and a few days after, just because it does re-establish a baseline. And I lose everytime on the cleanse. Usually 3-5 pounds that don't come back right away.

I did go to the Essentric class and I loved it. I was totally amazed at how hard the work out was, and yet, I had no soreness at all the next day. There is definitely something to that technique. A local regular class never materialized though. If one ever does, I will certainly sign up. I could do it with youtube videos, but I'm not that disciplined. Committing to a class would keep me doing it regularly.

I think you could start taking turmeric now for the inflammation. And maybe try grammies smoothie:

1 cup water, 1/2 cucumber, 2 stalks celery, 1 lime peeled, 1" knob fresh ginger. Blend together with water in a high end blender and down it.

My variation for P2 is the replace the celery with a bunch of cilantro, stems and all (a diuretic herb). That way you don't mix vegetables.

I will try Grammy's Inflammation smoothie...never have been in such a state of disrepair during a round! Thought I had moved far away from surprise smack-down flares, but, there it is. Got too big for my britches, so to speak

Really curious how my body will react to The Plan cleanse...haha never looked forward to flax seed granola, really...not on my radar Can't wait to try.

I did the youube videos every day for about 6 weeks...noted many improvements, so then subscribed to EssentricsTV....some 300 workouts. While many of the movements seem similar, doing different workouts would produce different good results...a real surprise to me. My posture has improved tremendously, along with other concerns, in the 18 months since.

I have tried dry brushing in the past, but never stuck with it very long due to arthritis pain in hands. But will try again...how long would you say it was before you noticed a difference in your skin? I don't have much sagging skin, but would love to address what is there. I have read 3-5 minutes a day for body...do you agree?

I'd say about a month after starting dry brushing, I noticed changes in skin tone. After about 2 weeks, I noticed my skin had gotten silky smooth. It hasn't completely tightened up everything to the smooth taughtness I had when younger, but I think my skin lost elasticity with the onset of menopause and didn't spring back quite as well as after weight loss in my pre-menopause days. I'd say 3 minutes is on the high side for me. Unless its summer, I'm usually too chilly for any extended brushing sessions.

That's a great testimony about the Essentrics. It almost inspires me to do something.

    Status Update

Have lost 4.2 lbs in the last 3 days, after ditching the OTC pain meds and having one inflammation smoothie, albeit quite a robust one. I have a degree of foggy thinking when super inflamed, misread the recipe, and used a whole, unpeeled lime. Hahaha, did get it down, then decided I might could have peeled the lime. Used fresh Italian parsley as the diuretic herb. Going to make a second potion today Going to be smarter than my lime this go-around...

The good news is that I am today feeling a bit better, and cautiously relieved/optimistic, because I think bad actors identified, and present decrepit state is slowly diminishing.
Have lost to a new number I have not seen for 15 years.

    Onward!

In the app, after you select the food, the portion size shows up on the meal listing page.

So for instance if you chose blackberries for breakfast, when you view your breakfast menu, it will say "blackberries - 1 cup"
