Good luck Mishi. When will you be starting?

I'm writing this as I'm enjoying a cup of REAL coffee with cream. *sigh of contentment*

My plan for this week is to try the maintenance format and eat close to the part3 menus and meal spacings. However, I'm not going to continue to restrict coffee, dairy, or peanuts. I'll report back after a week and let y'all know how it went.

Ooo, it restricts dairy and nuts?! That'll be easy for me then!! I'm allergic to nuts and lactose intolerant, lol
I'm just waiting for the book to get here. I've postponed P4 until I get it. It snuck up in me quickly!!
What's this about no coffee though??! I'm a coffee fiend, lol

I don't eliminate my coffee in FMD. I think that's totally ridiculous and she has no good reasoning for it. All current research flies in the face of her restriction. I've gone off coffee before with no change and I swore I would never let anyone else try to tell me it's bad for me when I know better.

I'm now in the same camp about coffee with grammy. I pretty much felt that way before but now I'm sure. I gave it a fair try and saw nothing to suggest eliminating coffee helped anything in any way.

Mishi, FMD restricts peanuts , but allows a lot of nut varieties as long as they are raw. Haley says the reason is that peanuts are a dirty crop raised with lots of pesticides and its hard to get them raw because they spoil quickly. But yes, absolutely no dairy. Only dairy substitutes like rice, almond or coconut milk, depending on the phase. I made a delicious hemp milk from hemp hearts for phase 3 as well.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience! As I got toward the end of this round (after having gained back most of what I lost last time for no apparent reason) I started reading and researching and found Grammy's recommendation for FMD and the description of it, I thought I found my P4 solution and kept reading/researching more and found your thread. I'm going to get the book and read up so I can be ready to do this in P4 and hopefully I have a good experience and this helps "heal" me too! Looking forward to reading about your 1st week after experience.

Cool! I'm in the second day of maintanance and so far its going well. I'm enjoying having the freedom to choose from the entire food list and snack options and trying to learn from the principles I have spent the last month practicing. I actually lost some after the first maintainance day, so that is quite encouraging. I am ESPECIALLY enjoying my reunion with coffee and peanut butter.

Mmmmmm......coffee and peanut butter sound heavenly! I gave up my coffee for P2 because I only like it with cream and obviously that's not allowed, lol, so I always just go cold turkey but I do miss it so. Just like you, I don't have withdrawal issues, it just doesn't affect me that way, it's just the mental aspect of missing something you enjoy so much that gets to me sometimes . Coffee is on the horizon but peanut butter is awhile away...sigh. Lol. Good luck on the rest of your first week! I hope the rest goes as well as it sounds like the first couple have--losing is definitely encouraging!!

It's not quite a week yet on maintenance, but I thought I'd report in because I'm starting to gain even though I haven't changed what I've been eating since the beginning of this week. I've been following the phase3 menus and timing as advised. Right now, I've gained nearly 2 pounds over the last 3 days. I have two more weigh-ins before I have completed a full week. But it's not looking good. There are no new foods to blame sensitivities on, and I'm even adjusting fats to allow for the bit of cream I'm adding to my coffee. And yet, I am gaining.

Next week I have jury duty, so that will be a week of carrying snacks and lunches, and not being in control of my own schedule. I'll just have to get through that the best I can.

Apparently, eating FMD mainatanance is not going to work very well for me. I see a correction day coming up soon.

So.. during my week of maintanance, I've lost a pound and then gained 2. I'm now back at my old LIW of 150.

I won't be weighing this week since I have to get up super early for jury duty. If I don't get selected tomorrow, I'll be done, but I could get on a case that lasts for this whole week. I can't really control eating times, so I'm just basically packing a bunch of snack possibilities and will eat as I can while I'm there. We'll see how it all plays out and then I'll decide what to do next.

I think the maintenance phase needs some fine tuning.

It certainly seems that way for me. Did you gain in maintenance as well?
