Hey Leez! Happy new year doll!

I'm sure you'll get into a good groove of losing yet again. Do you plan on doing another round yet? I could use the company (lol)... I also agree with your assessment specifically because at 5"9' and around 155, I'm still trying to shed some more love handles. Lol!

As for FMD, like you, my 2nd round was so much better regarding loses. I suppose my body was in repair mode during my 1st round? Last week I was completely off protocol so I hope I didn't derail my round 2 FMD results.

I'd like to start loading this weekend if I can figure out how to be brave enough to inject myself... Know of any tricks those of you who have used injections before?

    Chat soon
    R1/P2 (10/29/11) - Weight = 215lbs
    R1/P4 (01/03/12) - End of R1 = 195lbs
    * - 20lbs

    R2/P2 (04/07/12) - Weight = 200.1 lbs
    R2/P4 (07/03/12) - End of P3 = 165 lbs
    * - 35lbs

    R3/P2 (04/14/14) - Weight = 168lbs
    R3/P4 (07/14/14) - End of P3 = 150
    *-18lbs.. Dodgy round

    R4/P2 (01/12/15) - Weight = 172.2lbs
    R4/P4 (04/12/15) - End of P3 = 142lbs *-30lbs.. But Difficult and derailed round

    R5/P2 (01/18/16) - Weight = 195lbs
    R5/P4 (03/31/16) - End of P3 = _ _ _

I got Hayleys new book, "The Burn" and I think thats what I'm going to do next. It promises to break plateaus while letting your body heal in whatever area it needs most (inflammation, digestion, hormones). I can checkmark things in each area, but by far, my most checkmarks are in the hormone category--which is the 10 day program. So I'll probably start with that one. Possibly next week. It will take some preparation and focus. That will also coincide with the end of this 28 FMD period, so it seems logical to just move into that and see if it helps me out or not.

I'm still over my window this week, so I think I will do a couple of part 2 days instead of the 1 I've been doing this round. I might even do 3, I'll see how it goes. I really hate carrying this extra poundage for more than a day or so. Up till now, the part one days would take off anything that was gained over the weekend, but that doesn't seem to be happening anymore.

The protein phase is not that much fun, but with the help my secret weapons--rhubarb and kelp noodles, its more bearable.

It's an awesome book. The recipes are really really good. I haven't done a full cycle of anything yet but I've tried some recipes.

The recipes do sound good to me, so I'm not dreading anything about it. I do like that you get to eat all day long. I've spent so much of my life in deprivation diets that even a one day fast (like a steak day) is a big mental deal for me to get through.

Meant to give you mine: warm up the syringe. (I just tuck mine under my arm for a couple minutes before injecting.) That will eliminate the sting you get from injecting cold liquid. Pinch a bit of flesh to poke into, but once the needle goes in, release it before injecting. Don't inject too fast--can cause a bit of pain. I inject a couple inches left or right of my navel and alternate days. Most of my injections are completely painless with those methods.

I would love to follow how you do with the Burn! I've read most of your posts on fmd...thanks for the info. I saw the Burn book at my local Wegmans grocery and was going to grab it but even reading about food right now (in 1st week vlcd) would kill me! Will continue to follow you!

END OF FMD round 4 REPORT

Have completed the 4th 28 day cycle of FMD yesterday.

    Weight: beginning of R4: 151
    End of R4: 151.4

The fruit/grain days didn't get me down at all this last week. I ended the round with 3 protein days, but added a little good fat on the 3rd one. So as you can see in the weeklies below, thats what brought the numbers down. Unfortunately, even though following the part 3 plan and eliminating starches except for breakfast, I still gained most of it back. (n/a is Sunday which is a day I cannot weigh)

    Week 4: 3 days part1, 3 days, part2, 2 days part 3 modified
    152.4
    152.4
    152.4
    150.2
    149.6
    149.8
    n/a
    151.4

Here's the way all 4 months went:

    FMD1: 151.2 end: 149.2 ( used FMD maintanance for a month)
    FMD2: 151.8 end: 148.6
    FMD3: end: 151
    FMD4: end: 151.4

It seemed hopeful the first two months that I might continue to lose slowly, but that didn't happen. FMD did, however, keep me in my HCG window. (The top of that window is 152. I never dipped below the window except for a day or two that I got to 147.8)

So. Today I'm getting things ready to start one of The Burn rotations this week. I've settled on doing the Digestive one (5 days), as I have most of the stuff needed. If I can get it together, I might start tomorrow. I'll see how it goes today. I really hate licorice, and this one has a lot of that in it....you have licorice in your teas and fennel in your dinners. I dunno. Maybe I'll learn to like fennel. I don't like mint either, so I'll have to soldier through that as well. For those unfamiliar, the idea of The Burn is to nutritionally target the issues that prevent you from losing on the regular FMD diet. Plateau breakers, in essence.

I made the tea and I couldn't taste the licorice in it, just so you know.

    Starting the D-BURN today

OK... here we go. After ONE day of FMD maintanance eating, I'm up a pound and a half, and now nearly a pound over the top of my HCG window at 152.8. This may be an exercise in futility, as I've always had the issue that things that work for others don't work for me---but I'll give it a go.

I didn't pre-test any recipes. I figure that after all the vile things I've consumed in the quest for weight loss (included pre-digested protein--yuck!) that all of this should be doable. Hopefully, some of it will even be pleasant.

The tea is actually ok, but is thick and a bit gloppy--probably from the flax seeds. I couldn't even get it all through the strainer. I can taste the licorice, but its not too bad. I made the soup last night, and it seems palatable too, but the broth isn't very flavorful. Just hot from the jalapenos. I haven't actually had any yet, so I might have a different opinion after actually eating it.

I'm soaking my lentils now for the lunch lentil-chili, which sounds like it will be pretty good. I'm abit bummed about all the gaining these past couple of days. I was hoping to start this plan at LIW, but now I'm 3 pounds over. So if it even works to bring my weight down, I'll only just be back to square one again.

That lentil chili is to die for! I did a couple of days of the digestive one but didn't lose any weight, maybe because I got too much salt in the soup (which is also tasty) and then the weekend hit with my granddaughter and packing for our trip to AZ for the winter so I gave it up until I get to AZ. Good luck, Leez!

I found I had to add salt to the soup too. But I like it. There is just enough heat from the jalapenos. I like it a little sweeter too, so some xylitol helped there. Good thing, since you have to eat a quart of it each day. Cooking my chili now.
