    The Plan would say you are sensitive to something with that much of an increase. According to that book, oats are a very highly reactive food. I haven't tested it for myself yet though. If I were going to do FMD again, I planned to use only sweet potatoes for the starch on P3 and see how that did for me. I typically gain a pound over those 3 days.

    Hmm. Interesting. Maybe I'll cut out the oats and the cashews tomorrow (I already had breakfast today) and just do something I know I'm ok with. Sweet potatoes caused big jump for me this P3, so I'm leary of going that route. Maybe butternut squash or pumpkin would work though.

    So have you completed a Plan round? If so, did you post about that in any detail somewhere? I'll love to know more.

    But sweet potatoes aren't allowed in P3 so that might be why you jumped with them. They are usually a pretty safe food.

    Sorry for the confusion...I didn't try sweet potatos until about week 9. I just considered I would be mostly in P3 until I finished testing. My only starches at that point were sprouted bread, rice, beans, and bananas. I never quite did get fully out of P3, being as it was such a roller coaster this time. I was shocked, actually, because I thought sweet potatoes were pretty safe too.

    In The Plan, she recommends only eating 1/2 of a medium one, I think, when testing. So there must be some who react to it. But yours just might have been because of carb sensitivity. FMD should help that a lot!

    Thats about the amount I tested with on HCG-P3. My whole reason for doing FMD is to get some stability while opening up more food choices because of the carb sensitivity I seemed to have developed, so I kind of just went for it with the oats. But it seems to have been a bad idea. I had it on day 2 as well with a 1 pound gain the next day. So maybe that at least exonerates the cashews.

    Did you try regular oatmeal or steel cut? Steel cut isn't supposed to spike your blood sugar as much.

    I usually add egg whites to my oatmeal. The protein slows the absorption. And the cooked egg whites make it taste like a pudding. I add cinnamon and xylitol.

    Sounds lovely. But I would have to find some other protein substitute, as it seems eggs are an issue for me now. They were a problem my prior P3, so I lasered and tested twice this time, and each time had a big gain. (I didn't catch it the first time because it didn't show up until the second day, which made me suspect something else.) That does explain now why when I tried an egg correction day once, that I gained instead of losing. So I'm doing FMD without eggs, turkey, almonds, sweet potato, and maybe salmon (not sure about that one), and now without oats. I'm kind of afraid to try quinoa now. Thankfully, I seem to be OK with rice.

    Wouldn't it be lovely though, if FMD could actually quiet all this reactive stuff down. I'm hoping for at least some progress there. My plan is to retest some of those when I'm done.

    I wonder if I should try lasering eggs again now. Being able to use eggs would help a lot with variety. I could make a pancake!
