Leez I guess what I meant about the roller coaster ride was just that you were up and down a lot. I have been experiencing that type of ride the past couple of weeks in p2 so I know that it can be frustrating. I am sensitive to carbs too so maybe FMD is the best way for me to desensitize that too. You obviously have your head into it for sticking with it and I do believe that is the key to success. Oh and I was reading your experience on FMD from 2014 so have the ups and downs from them settled down this time around? I want to get as much info about it that I can before ordering the book. I'm intrigued.

My comment about the roller coaster ride was not intended to offend either. I probably could have stated that better so I apologize if it offended anyone. Sometimes I don't think things through before speaking.

Well, I'm only into it 4 days this time, but so far so good. I've lost some each day. The real test will be the next 3 days...those are the ones that always bumped me back up. But I'm not doing the FMD part3 this time. Instead, I'm doing the H-burn menus for part3.

I'll report how it goes after this weekend. If I somehow transmitted that your comment irritated me, it was a mis-communication. I'm happy to discuss any fears or reservations you might have regardless of how you frame the question. I'm not easily offended. You would have to really try.

    Leez-
are you doing phase 1,2 from the fmd and then for phase 3 you're doing the h-burn menus? Did I get that right?
If so, I would be interested in reading about your findings too.

Also-- do you know of an alternative for stevia?

I use xylitol. I can't use stevia. It gives me major hypoglycemic attacks, strangely enough.

I use xylitol as well, and thats FMD approved. Make sure you get a birch-based one.

Yes. I'm using the meal menus, but not doing the tea or soup. I'll just add a supplement (turmeric) for what is in the tea. I'll probably do protein/fruit snacks.

No I actually didn't think you were but was worried it may have to others. I truly appreciate you, Grammy, and ginger in this forum because I know you are all tried and true.... Sometimes I even lurk wherever you are just too see what I can learn lol. Creepy I know.

I have the xylitol, but just found out it is a mix of birch and corn-- UGH!!! labels are so deceiving! I just ordered the kind that comes from birch and I spoke to the owner of my local health food store- he told me he didn't know there was a difference- but will look into it.
I don't like truvia- also has an after taste for me. I'm very picky. but thanks for the input...

Day 2 went well with feeling sated. My family enjoyed the chicken and barley soup and the turkey chili. ( some of these menu items will be perfect for autumn).

Truvia is actually the best tasting sugar substitute to me, but erythritol is made from corn, so I don't use it. (because of corn sensitivity) And the FMD eliminates corn as well. You can get erythritol that is made from cane sugar, but its horridly expensive.

    Good Morning all,
Had a good day yesterday. I ate on plan and enjoyed all my meals. I love that I can freeze several portions to have in another week. The kids had some friends over at dinner time, so I offered the chili that I made-- they all gobbled it up. I thought that was great as the chili had zucchini chunks, and 5 kinds of beans... I was glad that they all enjoyed it. And I still had enough left over to freeze for 2 meals.
Strange thing happening to my lower extremities. . they feel heavy and almost stiff. I have been stretching and doing yoga to try to loosen them up. Hopefully, that heavy feeling will dissipate today as I begin Phase 2.
The scale has been good to me- I was down another pound this morning. I've also been able to visit the bathroom daily.. which has been amazing! lol
As for my morning coffee- today, I still have a slight headache but I am starting to feel better. I still miss my morning cup of joe, but I am now not trying to reach for a phantom cup anymore .
My anxiety level has definitely dropped. I'm not sure if it is because I dropped a couple of pounds or if it is because I am engulfing the book and heeding the recipes. But whatever the reason, I will take it. Hopefully, I will continue with this next phase.

I am looking forward to this phase, as it encourages weight lifting. I'm going to take the books advice and work with heavy weights and light reps... I'm sure I'll be in pain tomorrow or better on Sunday, but then I will be in the stage for yoga- which is a good stretch for those achy muscles...
I hope everyone is doing well....
