No further loss from part1. Moving in to part 2 today, which I manage by using a lot of rhubarb compote (since you can't have fruit in part2) and using a protein powder cookie for the snacks. I just don't want to eat meat 5 times a day. I've just gotten to the point where meat gags me when I have it too often. I will do a fish and probably a vinagrette chicken salad for two of the meals today though. It would be a lot easier if I could eat eggs, but o well....

I'm not sure if I can stand a green smoothie with no fruit in it but lime, but I think I'll give it a try. I think I'm noticing that doing the green smoothies with lots of herbs is helping digestion some.

Interestingly, I did my bodyfat measurements with calipers today and came out at 24%. That is considered on the low end of optimum for my height and age. So that was encouraging.

I have to say, I do feel like I look pretty good, even with the extra puffiness in the middle from these few pounds I'm trying to shift off. And I love wearing shorts now. I can't believe how great my legs look. I've also ditched all my boho long dresses for short ones now. ^_^

I messed up last night! I broke down and went out with a friend and had some wine- 2 glasses and then I ordered a mudslide and zucchini sticks-- I didn't even enjoy the food and drink! I was up all night-- hot as heck. The a/c was on at 66*--- no sweats, just felt really hot. I think it was my body rejecting all the unhealthy foods. I drank water all night.
Feeling more in control today- went shopping for the next few days worth of menus. I also purchased several appropriate freezer containers. I intend on cooking 2-3 meals for each phase and freezing the portions separately so I can grab and go once work starts. As of right now, I'm hoping to stay with the fmd recipes.
Called my GP to try to get some bloodwork done a little earlier- but she was on vacation until next week.

During my shopping I picked up some milk thistle tea -- and I just had a cup. It was enjoyable. Hoping it helps to break down some fat..

Leez- Are you using Haylie's Protein Powder? If so, how does it taste? And how is the consistency- is it chalky?

I guess the wine weakened your resolve a bit? Too bad you didn't enjoy the splurge though.

My herb guru says milk thistle tea is a waste of time because the milk thistle doesn't release anything significant into the tea. He suggests getting the powder or grinding up the seeds and putting it in a smoothie. I've taken it in capsules for years. Its great for liver support and you can't overdose on it.

I use my own protein concentrate: either whey or pea protein and then flavor it however I want. (Hayleys shakes use pea protein). I can't use her formula because it contains xanthan gum, which is a problem for me being that xanthan gum is made from bacteria that is cultured on corn. Which seems silly to me that she allows it in the shake since corn is not allowed on FMD. hmmm. I find it odd that she allows any gums and fillers actually.

Sorry can't help you from my own experience, but here's Jayks review of it: Fast Metabolism Diet FMD for P4

disclaimer: Hayley does say you can't use the meal replacement for snacks, so I'm a bit rogue on doing the protein cookie. Nice to have a chocolate fix once in a while though.

It's a pretty amazing thing that you can combine whey protein, cocoa powder and xylitol and not much else and get a cakey-cookie out of it.

When I started the D-Burn Shake it said to use 2 scoops and that would be 61g, but I couldn't see a scoop, so I converted to Tablespoons, which would be about 4

Well just the other day I finally can see the scoop, so used it instead. The drink actually tasted better as it was more than I was using. So much for conversions lol.

Thats a good point on why Haylie allows gums and fillers. Very odd.

This is a first....I gained a pound after a day of part2. That's not happened before. This whole round has been way different in responses to the phases. I actually thought everyone loses on part2, but I ran across a blog post this week where someone reported they always gain on part2.

Yay...down 2.2 pounds from yesterday. Finally going in the right direction. I don't really hold out any hope that I'll lose during the next 3 part3 days, but if I could just not gain, that would be awesome. I'm trying to let the process work itself out, but I know I'm going to be feeling anxious as long as I"m over my window, and I still am for now.

YAY for you LEEZ! Happy you got that loss. You work so hard at it.
I find the fmd to be perplexing. How a person could lose on one phase but then have gains on that same phase another week. Hoping that is part of the healing process.

Indeed frustrating--- I agree. The FMD rotations I did before my last HCG round were completely different than this time. I almost always lost in parts 1&2. This time, I can't predict anything about any of the phases.

Just a little phase update....after the part3 weekend, I'm up again to over my start weight. I'm taking comfort in that its a little over a pound below where I started the I-Burn intensive a couple weeks ago.

Up until last week, I was changing stuff up with the I-Burn and trying H-Burn meals for the part 3 days, but since then, I've been on the regular program. What I did this past part3 was to up the greens and herbs, and I only had sweet potato starch (no grains) for the dinner meal once. I still gained 2 pounds over the 3 days.

So I think I'm going to discount all of the tweaking that went before and just call this week 2 instead of week 4. If I can lose even just a little in the next 4 days, hopefully that could mean I'll gradually get back down to LIW at some point. If not, then I have to make a new plan of some kind, because I can't allow myself to keep gaining.

This is actually week 4 for me, but I'm calling this the start of week 3, since the first two weeks included a lot of experiments with part3.

So, starting the rotation again today at a pound higher that last week at this time. I did lose a little through the week. I only did two fat days this past week, but I still gained (after the first one actually) more than I lost. I don't like being so far away from LIW. Hoping for a better scale week coming. Other than that, I can't complain...eating well and enjoying things day to day. That counts for a lot, IF I don't keep gaining.

Breakfast today was brown jasmine rice with pineapple.

I finished the 28 day fmd challenge and lost a total of 6 pounds. I did have a couple of slip ups, which I believe contributed to me not losing more. This past weekend I took the boys cabin camping. I did not stay on fmd protocol. I'm afraid to weigh myself tomorrow, as I can feel my clothes are snug. I'm jumping back into the protocol until I meet up with my physician to discuss my hair loss. Hopefully, she will give me the ok to start another hcg round.

A 6 pound loss for the month is excellent! I'd like to lose even half that much. Thats about what I need to lose to get back in range...which is a feeling that is priceless, I must say. Congrats on your success.

On part2 right now, and I made a new part2 snack that I'm liking a lot. I got some rare, thin-sliced roast beef from the deli, and made some sweet/hot horseradish fresh pickles with thin-sliced english cucumbers. (did them on the mandoline) Topped a piece of the roast beef with a few pickle slices and rolled up for my protein snack. Very yummy!
