    Handling "the creep" after P3

HCG is the miracle that can get us to goal, but we need to do some work to figure out how to stay there. That is really our ultimate goal, yes?

I thought PearlyMae summed it up quite nicely in the quote above. So many (me included) seem to stabilize nicely and hold for while in P4 and then the gradual up-ticking on the scale starts. (the "creep")

I find that after a while in P4, steak days no longer bring me back to LIW, and sometimes don't even bring me back to my window. I haven't quite figured out my formula to stay at goal yet. But each time I do a little better. I've been using a combination of correction days, the first three day cleanse of Lyn-Genet's THE PLAN (sometimes extended for another week or so), and once I was able to stay at LIW for 5 months between rounds by following FMD.

Right now I'm free-styling the THM plan, which is the one I want to work for me for maintenance, because its so reasonable and sustainable. My body needs lots of healthy carbs to feel good, and THM does teach you the most metabolically efficient way to consume them. (So does FMD, but its more structured, and therefore requires more meal-to-meal discipline.)

So far, a few months out from the end of my last round, I'm still close to the top of my LIW window, but seem to be going over more frequently. So I'm starting to see "the creep" beginning. My strategy right now is to keep doing single correction days as long as that works. If I start seeing that 140 number, I will try the PLAN cleanse again. Maybe I can avoid building up to yet another HCG round.

Interestingly, 138 was a very long-standing set point for me back in my late 20's, and that is where I have been hovering. One of my questions is whether it is even possible to stay below this old established setpoint. I am happy at this weight as long as it doesn't inch up over that 140 mark. But I know I would look and feel best somewhere between 125-130.

If you have found the key to your own maintenance, I hope you will share it here. Our bodies are all different, of course, but your successes may spark an idea or a direction for someone else that is struggling with this issue.

Such a good thread Leez I seem to be ok stabilizing for a longer period of time but if my scale starts creeping it is because of inching into bad eating habits ... i am on the road and felt my eating not exactly what i needed to be and somehow a week later i am stable at 134.6 My liw was 137.6 Occasionally i have gone up to 136.6 for a day or so but dont do steak day I go back to P3 when that happens Havent checked in for awhike as i left scale in my vehicle and just got it out to weigh when we got to Pensacola Bringing sundried tomatoes and sugar snap peas for snacks to show

    Good thread indeed Leez

I hate that creeping. Rose I am glad P3 works for you. Unfortunately it doesn't always work for me.
I mostly would do correction days like Leez in hopes to bring it down.

Will deal with that again, after this round, and see if any changes. I usually do okay for 6-8 weeks. But each time I am learning that there are certain foods to avoid for sure.

I know I need to learn more how foods work. I hear things like if you have Bacon and eggs for breakfast, you should have tuna and Avocado for lunch. THM I have to agree is probably more likely easier to follow than FMD

I use a lot of THM products, which I know helps me.

I think that may be a real key. I have to really work at getting veggies in. I'm much happier with a bowl of hot cereal or toast and some spread with whatever protein I'm having. So I try to add cooked veggies to salads, and blend a bunch into any soups or stews I make. Its especially hard for me to eat salads when the weather is cold, so the warm veggies and protein toppings help a lot with that.

    HI,

I know this is an old thread but I am back because the Creep really got me, combined with a bad hypothyroid flare. I really hate P4! Sometimes it seems like I am going up and nothing stops it. This time I am trying to make a very firm P4 Plan. Leez I am so impressed that you have maintained so well. I agree about adding in veggies, and for me moving forward I have to not have sugar. It seems the more sugar I have the more sugar I want. If you or anyone has any tips, please let me know. I think my only hope is to have a plan.

I find being really diligent not to go longer than 4 hours between meals is a real key for me. That way, I never get famished and can pay attention to my satisfaction signals instead of inhaling the food.

I've not had to do a correction for around 2 months now, so I consider that a huge victory. Most nights, I'm happy to keep my last meal to a very light snack...like a protein hot-chocolate, or fruit and collagen tea both with a tsp of MCT oil. The bit of protein & fat helps make it satisfying.

I also do my best maintaining with a very light dinner meal I consume calories regularly throughout the day avoiding hypoglycemic episodes. My highest calories are consumed in the morning and a late lunch. Still eating steamed veggies and at least one t two fruits daily Right now blackberris are my fruit of choice.

Im updating because my weight and appetite started going up towards the third week in February. I was maintaining between 135-136 thru January and occasionally up to 137. Because my goal is 135 and my LIW is 137.6 i am concerned at the climb even though it is a couple of lbs. i looked at what i was earing and mostly i was increasing the amount of food i was eating and eating later in the evening, Seemed difficult to cut back but i finally did. While i am now between 137-138 even though i am doing p3ish 5days a week and modified on saturday and sunday I am stable now but higher than i want to be. Seems like my calorie count at one time was about 2300- 2500 cal per day . Estimating only While i usually Dont count calories i wanted to figure out what was happening, i do think it matters how much i was eating. I plan to try to gradually cut back to about 1800-2000cal per day to see if i can see a gradual drop... better than a gradual gain which was happening,
Wanted to update my status. Costly truck repairs and some back pain may have triggered some increased hunger but i seem to be doing better now.

Sometimes I think that we are just genetically wired to gain weight over the winter months as a protection against the cold. Although I'm not sure that applies if you live in a warm climate.

Lyn-Genet Recitas (The Plan and The Metabolism Plan) recommends MSM to knock those out. I don't have my book at the moment but I think it's 1000 mg 3 x a day.
My advice is based specifically on the original Simeons Protocol. Grammy's personal protocol:Grammy's Hcg Diet Protocol
