    Need help stabilizing!!

I guess i simply didn't do enough research or something on P3, because my weight still has not stabilized and according to my calendar i should be starting P4. I've been having fluctuations from the very beginning and had to do Steak Days every two to four days. Is that normal? Because i'm not eating a bunch of sugars and starches and stuff. But yes on the second week i didn't add in low carbs one at a time like peanut butter and cheese and nuts. Like in the morning of week two i had a two egg omelet with cheese in it then for my midmorning snack i had some apple with a little peanut butter, then for lunch i had my six ounces of protein with a good helping of allowable veggies and so forth. But it seems like no matter what i do even if i just stick to eating veggies and protein at my meals and snacks I always seem to gain a few ounces unti I'm passed my two pound allowance and have to do a steak day. I'm also exercising and wonder if some of the weight is muscle. So what do i do, I'm now four pounds from my starting weight, doing another Steak Day and thinking of doing a Double Protein Day tomorrow, hopefully it will get my weight back down. But is there a way to start maintenance over without doing another round of drops? PLEASE HELP!!

Peanut butter is absolutely not allowed on P3...

If your weight has been fluctuating that much, it makes me think you are consuming sugars and starches - so maybe some of the things you think are ok are really not allowed on P3. (Like peanut butter!)

When you say "allowable veggies" I wonder if maybe some of the veggies you think are allowable really aren't. What veggies are you eating?

Here's a really good sticky with P3 information: Phase 3 information Scroll down a little and there's a list of foods which are allowed and also some definite no-nos.

    VLCD results... Week 1: -6.6, Week 2: -1.8, Week 3 -1.4, Week 4: -1.2

I agree with Kar. For sure peanut butter isn't allowed so you might be eating other things you thought were okay but weren't. You might give us a list of what you've been eating. And any time you are having trouble, you should eliminate dairy, eggs and nuts for a while then add back in one at a time for 3 days.

Well I'm getting desperate because really I'm in week five i think of maintenance and i was not happy to see so much fluctuating still. So i've been researching Hcg info almost non stop and am beginning to see that alot of my problem might be faulty information. The information i had said that i could add in peanut butter so that would explain alot and also i think i simply added in too many different foods in the same day. I am really freaked out that I've screwed up maintenance totally and won't be able to stabilize without doing another round of drops. Only trouble is I'm moving indefinitely and don't know when or if I'll be able to do another round. I never realized how strict you had to really be in order for maintenance to work properly. Please tell me i can course correct without starting from scratch. I just finished a steak Day today and am hoping for good results tomorrow, this morning i was four pounds from my LIW. But i was thinking of doing a Double Protein Day tomorrow. Thank you so much for your replies, they are a real encouragement. Its amazing to know how many others struggle with the same things i do and that someone is listening.

Since you've been in maintenance so long, you can have peanut butter. But if it were me, I'd quit fighting the scale and adjust my LIW up and try to maintain there. Constantly fighting it just raises your cortisol which can affect your weight too. After this long, I don't think you can get back to your LIW.

SO i don't have to start from Scratch? Thats a relief. I don't mind adjusting my LIW a little i just want to know if i can maintain at least close to it. My Steak Day worked gloriously and i lost almost four pounds yesterday. I did look up some threads on post CD eating and actually found a step by step menu practically of how this one lady maintained. I'm really hopeful that if i follow it closely it will work for me. What i was going to try now was just in a way going back to eating my proteins and veggies for a few days and i wasn't sure about the fruits (apples, oranges, strawberries) some people say they cut them out completely. But i saw a reply for one lady from you that said it could actually be harmful to your thyroid. I wanted to try that for a while after my CD and see if I'm maintaining then I'll gradually start adding in foods. I do have a list of allowable veggies and proteins and i also don't have much access to any really no no stuff except for peas, carrots, corn and potatoes. But i haven't been eating any of them. Mostly just Greens (Chard, spinach, Kale) Broccoli Cauliflower, occasionally zuchinni, tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms, olives, green beans, lettuce (Romaine, Iceberg) cucumbers, Dill Pickles, and i think thats about it. But several things i was confused about is the butter issue. When it said we were allowed to have fats i instantly thought of dairy plus it said you could have cream in your coffee. So for week one of maintenance i started putting real butter on almost everything, my eggs in the morning, my veggies at lunch and dinner and i would have cream or milk in my coffee every time I'd drink it. But now from the research i did it looks like fats means oils and greases not necessarily dairy. And mom and i buy these low cal crackers called WASA that we used to replace the grissini or melba in P2. 35 calories a slice and i would eat two a day usually. But now in P3 is seems like i don't tolerate them as well and when i looked at the ingredients it says they do have wheat. Mom says if they were allowed in P2 then they're allowed in P3 but i don't know since i got off P2 my body seems alot more sensitive. Thankyou so much for your reply i'm beginning to feel like i have some chance.

Butter is the first thing I add. Grissini is NOT allowed on P3. Fats are terrific for you actually so putting real butter on everything is not a bad thing.

I forgot to ask your weight and height. sometimes we go too low in P2 and your body simply can't maintain that low of a weight. I know Pounds and Inches says you get intense hunger once all abnormal fat is lost but that really isn't the case usually.

Oh, i kept expecting to get super hungry but never really did so i kept going lower and lower. Well my height is about five eight and my LIW was 124, but on the 72 hours on VLCD without drops i went down to 121. But then i kept gaining and Steak Daying all throughout P3 because i guess i didn't understand how slow you have to introduce things. But i took your advice about adjusting my LIW and after my awesome Steak Day and Protein Day i was down to 123. I cut out all artificial sweeteners except Stevia and Truvia and really made sure i wasn't eating anything but at least six ounces of protein at each meal, my veggies with butter or oil and drinking lots of water, usually three liters.
But I've steadily gained for the last several days and am now at 125. I mean, grammy, you say to adjust my LIW but am i supposed to gain back all the weight I've lost?! I even started counting calories today and so far it looks like I'm only eating a little over a thousand a day, but i don't know what else to introduce to make up the calories and i do feel really full at meals. And i do my exercises, light yoga, bycicle, a thirty minute core workout. I don't know what else to do grammy, even when i feel like I've been a good girl I've still gained a few ounces the next day, when will it stop? Please help.

Oh my gosh, that is much much too low, Ani! I'm 5'8" and even 135 is skinny as a rail. I think you don't have a clear picture of yourself. It happens. Get someone to take some pictures of you so you can begin to realize you are really too thin. I suggest gaining back about 10 pounds so you're healthy and not fighting to maintain an unhealthy weight.

I'm sorry it took me so long to write back i didn't realize that there was a second page, i just thought you were too busy or something. Its funny when i look in the mirror i don't feel much thinner than i ever have been it just always seems like so many other girls are smaller than me, my sister says its all in my head but i don't know. But i was going to tell you that i started counting calories and really watching my intake and I've finally started having an easier time of stabilizing. I'm able to fit in all my protein and veggies and today i introduced eggs, so i guess tomorrow I'll see if i have an intolerance. Do i really need to gain a bunch of weight back if I'm able to fit in all the proteins and veggies i need in order to function? I think before i was just eating more calories than i needed. How many am i supposed to have any way? Thanks so much for your reply.
