    P4 gain....not stabalizing

I've been on P4 for about a week now. Completely off of nuts, any dairy, and all diet sodas. Eat basically like I'm on P3 but my weight continues to climb. I had a lot of trouble stabilizing and did 2-3 steak days in P3 but now it is getting so out of hand. I walk 2-3 miles a day, and eat little-no carb but today my weight was 6lbs above my target. At a loss and don't know what to do. Any advice to get those 6lbs off and KEEP them off?

hi. my r1 was the most successful in maintaining and even loosing an extra 2 lbs in p4. i went to youtube and found video/channel with p4 guidance (stephsuniverse). basically i went to mayo clinic online and found out what my bmr was (roughly 1600 calories). i took that number and slowly made my way to that calorie #. p4 days 1-2 was 800 cals, days 3-4 1000 cals, days 5-6 1200 cals, days 7-8 1400 cals... stuck to p3 foods mostly. gave up alcohol and anything processed. whole grains was ok in moderation.

it took me into my 2nd week of p4 to figure out the right # of calories. 1600 was too much, i gained. 1400 was too low, i gained. remember if you are not eating enough you will gain just like if you are eating too much. so i settled in the high 1400's and low 1500's as my new caloric intake. i did not start exercising until week 3 and i did light bicycling and worked up to moderate cycling by week 4. only 30 mins per day.

hope this info helps. good luck!

What are you doing differently now than you were in P3? You said you only needed 2 or 3 steak days in P3? That's good! It seems like whatever you've changed since entering P4 is giving you trouble...I'd try to figure that out.
