Plus my order of Melanotan just arrived today. Hoping to be somewhat bronzed by the time we leave.

I'm going to go back to P3 to fix my weekend gain, then try to add new foods slowly like we're supposed to do.

Shylie, how many days did you wait between new foods before trying another one?
Actually I tried a new food and then the next morning if all was well, I tried something else. I've been careful not to add a new food to a previously-tried food on the same day much, just so I could easily track what was happening. I did yams one day, next morning all was well, so I tried triscuits that day. Next day I tried wheat toast instead.

Week 1 of P4 has totally sucked for me. I got lazy yesterday at my BF's house and let him order subs for dinner. I could have made my own dinner at his place, but just didn't feel like it. Within 20-30 mins of eating the sub I was passed out on his couch - what I call 'carb coma.' I don't remember moving to the bedroom or accusing the delivery guy of spiking our food with GHB while half-asleep. I would have slept in my clothes if my BF hadn't insisted I put on some jammies. I woke up this morning 'hungover' - headache, weak stomach, and general malaise. Worst part is when I got home to get ready for work I discovered I gained 1.4 lbs! I'm officially over my LIW for the first time. Its like I totally just threw the last week of P2 and all of P3 in the trash. I ate corn & potatoes covered in butter for two days and only gained 1.2 lbs!

I know white bread doesn't agree with me, but its like my crack. Its so good at first, then it makes me do bad things and feel worse. I'm starving this morning, which I haven't felt since the end of P2 on the VLCD without HCG. I was going to do a steak day, but caved and made a protein shake. I drank it in record time and I'm still hungry. I'm so mad at myself I could scream. Now I'll be battling the hungries until lunch and probably again until dinner. And for what? A stupid sub and a moment of laziness. Yet part of me wants to crawl back into bed with a loaf of Wonder and my self-loathing. This must be what addiction is like.

I think I'm going back to P3 for at least a week. I just can't handle P4 right now. I want to be stable again before I start my next round and I don't think I can do it without taking a step back. I never thought I'd say this, but P2 is easiest part - no real decisions and if properly prepared, fantastically lazy. I cannot wait to go back to P2.

Confession time. I ate too many peanut butter cookies yesterday. I think TOM is coming up because I even laced my water with stevia to sweeten it up. All I wanted was something sweet. Should've stayed with the cocoa crack. I haven't stepped on the scale as of yet. (frightened maybe ) but my fingers feel like sausages, and I cannot move my ring.

DH suggested we go on a picnic by the river yesterday. I looked at him and said " what did you have in mind" ( before HCG I would've picked up some subs.) He picked up some salami from a local butcher, I quickly whipped up a tuna spinach salad for myself.
    It was a nice afternoon.

Off to face the music now. Hope you recover from your carb attack Eggie.

No gain on the scale this morning! pheww.

So I managed to correct Monday night's sub disaster with a high protein/high fat day yesterday. I'm hoping a couple more days of P3 eating and I'll be back on track. I still find it incredibly weird that I can eat 1,800 calories one day (sub night) and gain, but eat 2,600 calories yesterday and lose. Years of being told "a calorie is a calorie is a calorie" makes it hard to believe, but I know it can't be true.

I'm still scared of sugar too. Sweetest thing I've had so far is corn. I'm going to re-reintroduce corn slowly next week because I'd hate to not eat at least some of the ones I grew this year and they should be ripe by then. I think I'm going to stick to introducing whole foods like potatoes, rice, carrots, etc. for a while.

Has anyone's healthier eating habits rubbed off on family or friends? My BF lives around the corner from my work, so I stock healthy food to eat lunch at his house most days. He's lost a few pounds coming home for lunch instead of eating fast food or Mexican everyday. He also credits me 'force-feeding' him vegetables, but he likes it. I just wish his boys (18 & 21) ate more sensibly. They eat a lot of fast food, but they are naturally thin so they don't care. A few weeks back they made Luther burgers (cheeseburger on a krispy kreme doughnut) and yesterday a hamburger topped w/a fast food apple pie. The two of them can drink 4 cases of regular soda in a week - that's like 3.5 cans each per day. Its mind boggling.

Hope the scale is kind to everyone today!

So I know that I am never going to eat the way I used to again. I am really not trying to introduce a lot of new "carby" foods. I am kind of going the route that once in a while I will just eat what I want and the rest of the time eat P3ish. I have discovered that for sweets I can eat cheesecake (my favorite!!!) with no problems and also dark chocolate. My last week of P3 I got a little crazy and gradually gained until I had to do a steak day. On Sunday I had a mushroom swiss burger (my first time having more than a bite of bread in 2 months!) and fries for lunch, an orange julius smoothie and 2 slices of pizza for dinner. I gained 1.5 lbs! I really thought I was going to have to do a steak day but I just ate P3 and now its all gone plus some!

I made almond flour pancakes for breakfast yesterday. They really weren't very good. too heavy texture and not sweet enough. I haven't been able to get into minute muffins or cocoa crack either. The only thing that I have liked was the oopsie roll french toast. The oopsie rolls I made for burger buns really didn't work out very well. Way too delicate. Maybe I did something wrong....

I did do the cheese crust pizza for dinner last night too. Reminded me of lasagna :-) Not bad.

The oopsie roll buns are quite delicate ( I make mine with quark) I turn them upside down and use one for the top and one for the bottom. The burgers are so good I want to eat two!!

I also whip up whites seperately for pancakes. Makes them lighter.

MMM lasagna sounds good right about now.

I honestly must say, I haven't added sugar, or bread ( except for the cookies and cake ). I've been at 0 loss 0 gain for the last 3 days. I know I have to start at some point...... not ready for it yet though.

Hi all mind if I join in?
P4 is way more difficult than any other part of this diet to me.

I am 3 weeks into p4, and I went out to the melting pot for our 22nd anniversary 2 nights ago..I woke up to no gain..Well last night I decide i could try chili with 7 types of beans, and I woke up to a 4 pound gain..Not sure if it was a delayed gain from 2 nights ago or from the chili and potatoes i ate yesterday. I am doing a steak day today..Trying one that jonathan recommended..That i eat 1 once of steak per 20 pounds I weigh, so a measly 6 ounce steak, but I cook it in butter, and add butt on top of it..And eat an apple..Hopefully I lose from it most steak days i really don't. But I want to try his formula..I just hope I am not weak at kickboxing tonight.

Anyways That was my first desert in over a year, and it was chocolate dipped cheescake, so it was yummy!

    Nice to meet you all!

My boys are 17 and 18. The youngest one is totally health conscious and tries all my new creations. The older one looks at what I eat skeptically and will not try it. He has gained quite a bit since he graduated high school. Unfortunately you can not dictate what other people eat.

There is no more junk food in my house. The closest thing you will find is the occasional cookie in the freezer, ( you have to search to find those ) and cocoa crack. He does like that though.

    The more the merrier!

I've gotta try oopsie rolls. Hopefully they turn out better than cocoa crack. I made a double batch early in P3 w/powdered stevia. Oddly the stevia seems evenly dispersed, but the cocoa settled out. It tastes good for a second then its soooo bitter! Is it supposed to be that way?

Use xylitol instead of stevia. I used stevia and it was horrible

    3 tbsp. unrefined coconut oil
3 tbsp. xylitol ( I tried making it with stevia, it was terrible )
3 LEVEL tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    pinch of salt
    1 tbsp. whipping cream
    1/4 cup slivered toasted almonds

Melt coconut oil and add xylitol. Stir until xylitol is melted. Add cocoa, vanilla and salt. Add toasted almonds. Spread on some parchment paper and put in fridge to harden. If you can't wait, put it in the freezer.

You can also add unsweetened coconut if you like. In P4 I will try it with craisins.
I put the cocoa powder and xylitol in blender first. It mixes in easier with the coconut oil.
