It's pretty easy to find restaurants that will work with you, especially the hamburger joints. I did find that Denny's has stopped using leaf lettuce and have gone to bagged shredded lettuce (that is so dumb), so if you get a burger there, you have to have it on a shedded lettuce salad (ask for avocado, especially while they are in season!).

Subway will serve any of their sandwiches in a bowl, I haven't tried them yet, but it's nice to know that the option is there.

Just a thought about grains. The beef industry feeds cows grains for a couple of reasons: A) it's cheaper B) grains make cows fat. So the next time your doctor insists that you eat whole grains, remind him/her of that. We may not be cows (unless of course we continue to eat grains), but even with our one stomach, grains make us fat too!

We have Jimmie Johns here in Ohio....and they will make any of their sandwiches as an unwich....no bun, just wrapped in ginormous romain lettuce leaves, yum!

I guess it would be good to think about what those beef are eating and also how that grain/corn is effecting us as well with hormones etc.... anyway at home using grassfed/rangefed and I quess kobe burgers out mostly when I can find them but they don't have those at fast food places the American Restaurant industry does make it hard for us to eat clean....

Good morning all! I just recently finished reading It Starts With Food by Melissa and Dallas Hartwig (www.whole9life.com). Nothing I didn't already know personally, but I am leaving it around for my family to read, hoping that they will join me in a Whole 30 challenge. I got the kids Eat Like A Dinosaur by The Paleo Parents (www.paleoparents.com), and they are very excited about starting their "whole 30" challenge (like they have a choice!).

My biggest battle isn't going to be the kids eating (they have been loosey goosey Paleo for a while), but to keep the other adults in the house (two of which are grandparents) from sneaking them sweets/treats, because Mommy isn't feeding them right (slurpees (them) versus whole, real food, but no sugar, grains, legumes or dairy (me) Hmm, must ponder this...). Plus, all of them will leave food every where. Cookies, cakes, candy, half drank sodas, toast, pizza. Talk about a Paleo nightmare, these people are the antithesis of Paleo!

I really hope one or two of them (the in-laws, my husband, and my 18 yo son) will pick up the book and join me and the Littles. I think the problem is it's easy to see I have a problem, I am (was) super fat. They on the other hand, aren't. Although, everyone of them eats enough sugar to raise C & H's stock value! My diabetic MIL will eat 3 and 4 bowls of ice cream a day, not to mention drink up about 5 or 6 liters of soda! Ever wonder why you are diabetic, Lady?

Anyway, if you haven't read it, it's a great intro into Paleo/whole food eating. And, do think about doing the Whole 30 challenge. If you can stick to hCG for 30 days, it would be real easy to do the W30!

And if you are able to join me, I will be starting the Whole 30 Challenge on October 1st!

Hello everyone!! In the past..Hubby and I have tried to eat Paleo but couldnt stick 100% to it cuz we like cheese and sometimes greek yogurt... so we just ended up goin back to low carb. Ihave lost 135 lbs and kept it off since 2005 doing low carb. Gained 40 lbs tho when I got prego in Oct 2011. Anywho...weve decided that since were essentially already doing Paleo during P2, that we will continue in P3 and P4. I honestly feel so much better when I dont have all that crap and fillers in my body. I will miss protein bars tho. Lol Weve done Lara with Paleo but theyre soooo sugary from the dates to me. Anywho...would love to make this alil group and share recipes etc. Cant wait to take charge and go at it once were done with P2. Do all of u eat strictly grassfed and organic? I am debating on buying 1/4 cow but might just end u buying the bulk ground meat. My sis and fam also hunt so we will b getting some fresh venison in abt a month. Woohoo!!

I eat primal I guess because I eat dairy as I tolerate it well. We eat raw dairy, or organic fermented dairy, like yogurt. I am also very low carb. I have been slowly losing weight on a high fat, adequate protein and very low carb diet since I started mid-August. I don't think I will ever go back to eating grains. I rarely eat starches either. I am not missing anything and I love what I can eat without gaining weight!

    Hey all! Welcome.

I have been looking into 1/2 a cow. I did an online search and found a ranch in Montana that's got reasonable rates (about $1500), and will compare to a local ranch, but I live in Northern CA, and everything, including grass fed is so expensive. What I may do is get some buffalo, the Montana grass fed/finished cow, and our chickens from our local producer (at $4.95/lb!) along with eggs (range free, grass fed).

I had a hard time talking the Colonel into it, mainly because of the cost, but he sees it a bit thru my eyes, and after having bacon uncured, no nitrate/trides, he realized that it tasted better and even with his cruddy diet, he felt better.

Right now, we do the best we can, and that's all anyone can do. Remember, if you do have to buy industrial-raised meats, trim as much of the fat as possible (that's where the crap is concentrated).

Is anyone CrossFitting? I have a box in my town, and want to start in Nov/Dec (beat the New Year's rush). I have a plan to do some floor exercises (push ups, sit ups, planks, deep knee) and on the odd days, sprints (my neighbors are going to think I am nuts!). I might do another round of Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. I also want to invest in some kettle bells (starting at 15 lbs), and a chin up bar. Just to gain some core strength before CrossFit. After 7 months of hCG, I feel as weak as a kitten, not from losing muscle mass, 'cause I didn't, but just from having a body that I can move now, and haven't! KWIM?

What are your exercise plans? Moving like Grok? A CrossFit box? DVDs?

Thanks to Rusty for inviting me to this thread!

Hello everyone. I'm moving into Phase 3 for 3 weeks before going back to another P2 round. Hoping to do my final round in Jan when I see Onederland. HCG has been so wonderful to me and I lost so much weight (total weight loss 106lbs) 80+ thanks to HCG! Right now I'm going Primal and see how I do. I've been trying to research it a little more to be sure of exactly what I can eat? Am I to count calories? I'm still a bit confused. If anyone can offer advice or suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

Also I'm starting some interval training Monday at my local gym (Tabata class) plus I will go back to my Water aerobics class with some weights. I really wanna tone up my arms. I also have Jillian Michael's 30 day shred so I may try to incorporate some of that as well.

Suggestions? Advice? All greatly appreciated because I WILL NOT gain this weight back! NEVER!!!!

    Thanks for having me guys!
