I think I'll probably have to do at least some of the cleanse when I start up again, since I'll be eating off plan for the next week. And I read that part of the reason for the cleanse is to make your body super-sensitive to the testing. It seems that would be important.

But she also says that you can't do the cleanse too often, so I'm not really sure how I should go about it. At this point though, I don't know whether to retest failed stuff again first, or just move on and retest those things (lamb, chick peas, and now rice) after I finish the 20 days.

That potato diet thing....is that based on the whole resistant starch idea? Thats intriguing, but it seems odd to be drinking potato starch water and such. I really want to just find a way to eat that is a bit more normal. That being said, this PLAN eating is the most unnormal thing I've tried yet. But I can see ahead that once you get through the basic testing that it will become a lot more personalizable.
Sounds like white rice the culprit. On THM one thing they stress is to never eat white potatoes, sugar or white rice ever.
i experimented last week with Skinny Pop popcorn. More from curiosity. I know that on the past even if the only thing i ate all day was popcorn i would gain. Sure enough i ate very few calories the other day but had barley beef soup ...the whole can and the popcorn..about two cups.and had an increase. Also had been eating some 3 fruits per day occsionally and saw gradually my weight creeping up over a few days. So again, another experiment, I ate only one fruit Saturday and vegetable was half a package or about 5 oz of green beans with fish. Also ate peanut butter, walnuts, almonds and bacon. Dropped 2 lbs overnight. Now im at my normal 137.2 average. So i would evaluate my eating as high fat, medium calories, low carbs and medium protein combo. I was getting concerned because i had only had my weight usually vary within two lbs but not over 138.6 Once i hit 139 i changed up my food . Probably wont help anyone but sharing my recent experience especially with the popcorn.

Thanks Rose- I love reading about others experiences. I'm not a popcorn person. Funny thing is I'm not a white potato, bread, nut, nut butter person. I really enjoy fish, occasional steak, veal, occasional poultry with some key veggies and fruit.

I still haven't been able to locate a copy of THM to read ( prior to purchasing). But I will still keep looking. But I am really hoping that I can learn to stabilize without a formal structured diet.

Sounds like you are doing so well-- with traveling and your schedule.. So proud of you!

hi Kapulzie. I dont have a copy of THM. I just took phone shots of the relevant food groups and went from there.
I follow the basic premises in not mixing certain types of food.
Tonight I cooked...rare as that is. it was a great P4 or P3 meal unless you are sensitive to almond flour or eggs.
I took tilapia and dipped it in egg that had cayenne mixed in, then dipped it in almond flour and sauteed it in butter and olive oil. My side dish was green and red pepppers, onions, and celery sautéed in butter and olive oil till well done...oops also added my spices and a can of tomato paste and simmered another 5-10 minues. The whole meal was delish and works for P3 Also my husband fixed orange spice tea sweetened with stevia. One time i thought i might be sensitive to almond flour or eggs. Tomorrow will tell If i have a gain it wont matter but will remind me to be careful Sure did enjoy it.

Rose- that sounds right up my alley... delicious... however, I no longer eat talipia... but I could always substitute with flounder/sole.. or even cod.. I don't eat ANY farmed fish. I know it's cost effective and delicious-- but I just can't get myself to do it.
wish you could send me the pictures... sometimes it's so difficult to get your hands on these plans.. for free... but I refuse to buy any more diet books!! I just have to learn what to eat- as far as food combinations and how much.. ( cause I don't ever feel full).
I'm off all sweeteners... It took me forever to get rid of sugar and substitutes in my tea-- but I did it, and ya know what-- I actually like it better now with nothing.. go figure! I have tried to add xylitol or stevia-- and I just don't like it.. so plain is better anyway.
If I'm craving something sweet, I take some frozen strawberries and defrost them-- there is usually some "water" in the bottom of the bowl and I either drink that or add it to a bottle of water to make it naturally sweet. There are no other ingredients in my strawberries-- except the berries.

Wondering where everyone from P4 went-- hopefully they are also stabilizing..

Trim Healthy Mama is more than a diet book. They have tons and tons of fabulous recipes too. And it's a little complicated to figure out so the book is well worth it. What if you had stopped all health searches and diets before you found hcg? The quest for health and knowledge always takes effort and willingness to experiment. That includes buying diet books and trying them out. LOL

And a forum that answered a lot of my questions & offered alternative ingreds for various sensitivity issues. I'm not able to do dairy which many recipes include. I'm borrowing book from library. It's so nice to include grains (oatmeal, quinoa, sourdough toast) without fearing gain. I'm new to it so still figuring it out. So far so good.
    Round 3:
    SW (8/1/15): 134.8 lbs. (+5 lbs R2 LIW)
LIW (8/29/15): 123.2 lbs. TOTAL LOSS -11.6 lbs.; 17.75 inches

    Went from a tight size 12 (164 lbs) to size 6 (123).

Apr 2016 Update: In the midst of Round 4 with a goal of ~123 lbs AGAIN, but more importantly, I'm looking to lose inches. 4/10/16: 126.6; size 6s loose.

    kapluzie:

there is an overview of THM here:
    http://savvyhomemaking.com/trim_heal...ew_start_here/

I don't think you could actually follow THM accurately from it, but it gives a good idea of how the meals are constructed and basic outline of how you would put them into a day.

It seems to me that you would need to do a lot of gram counting to get this right. That's part of why I haven't tried this particular method personally yet. Probably a list of pre-planned meals that include exact amounts would be really helpful.

No there is no gram counting at all. There really is very little counting of anything. LOL You have a list of foods and amounts that are okay to eat in an E mail (higher carb) and a list of foods and amounts that are okay in an S setting (high fats) and what you're allowed to eat for an FP (fuel pull.) Once you get into the swing of it all, it's pretty easy but there is a bit of a learning curve.

I get the E and S meal thing, but the whole FP (fuel pull) I'll have to read up on again. I didn't understand that the first time through. I do like those gals though--they remind me of us, trying to figure out everything after trying everything, and putting their heads together until figuring out what works. Funniest thing I read in that book, though, was about how sex was so physiologically good for us. I thought, "This isn't your typical diet book!"

Sorry I've been too busy to write, ladies. I appreciate you being here when I can and I always get something out of what I read here. Rose, thanks for the recipe with the almond flour. I have a bag in my freezer just waiting for me to get creative with. I made ox tail soup for dinner tonight and boy was it yummy! I used thyme, rosemary, clove, salt, pepper, and bay leaves for herbs and spices, not to mention ox tails, onions, celery, carrots, potatoes, tomatoes, and bouillion. Hopefully I didn't overdo it on sodium. That always gets my weight up.

Leez, how's the Plan working for you? I got a copy from the library and plan to read it one of these days. Just trying to find some time. I'm teaching a Grammar and Composition class besides homeschooling my kids and running a homeschooling group, so time is at a premium.

    Take care everybody!

Hi Abs The oxtail soup sounds great. Unfortunately we are on the road again so eating is inconsistent Yesterday we left very early and seemed ad if i was hungry all day. Normally i dont count calories but because i ss eating a lot i estimated 2000 cal for the day which is quite high for me. I usually estimate i stay around 1509-1700 Im not tall and medium boned so cant eat as much as someone taller. Weight this morning right where it shd be at 137.0 Will see tomorrow

Thanks Leez. I tried to get a copy of the book to review at my library, but it's not available at all. I like to read about such plans, to see if I can fit it into my lifestyle. .then if I believe it's doable, I'm happy to purchase to have my own copy as a reference. I'll check out the link. Thanks again.
Just from everyone's posts seems SIMILAR to the zone. I'm sure there are differences.

Abs- I haven't had ox tails in about 15 years.
I'm starting to look up some clean eating recipes for when I hit P3. I love looking at recipes. . But I don't view the recipes like I use to. I use to imagine how it would taste and decide whether I would make it from my imagination of how it would taste. But now, I mainly look at the ingredients, and decide if there are anti inflammatory ingredients and whether or not I have time to prepare and cook.
