Can you do that? I was thinking you had to keep rotating friendly days. Day 8 is my fave anyway since there is a slice of bread in it, so that would be great.

Actually, Day 8 might be a good day to try the protein bar, since there is some sugar built into the dinner recipe from the apricot jam glaze anyway. Not sure if I'm brave enough to actually go through with it while still up this high, but thinking about it.

Girl, you're making me nervous! You're already higher than you want to be and you're wanting to try something as processed as a protein bar?! Ten lashes with a wet noodle! I never kept rotating. I always went back to day 1 if I had an uptick. And if I wanted a safe day, I did day 1 again. Bread would be way too iffy for me before I got back to LIW too.

OK. *puts the protein bar back in the jar* But really, the only thing processed is the pea protein. I could make the same bar myself with sunflower butter and coconut nectar, because those are the only ingredients (already passed), plus cinnamon. I figured it might be a way to avoid chicken tonight. (Can you tell I'm really tired of chicken? ^_^ haha)

Bread seems to work for me. I've lost everytime I've done Day8 which is the bread test day. Its the only "friendly day" that I haven't had a gain or stall on.

So did you ever do more than one safe day1 in a row? I guess that's the thing I'm struggling with because she keeps emphasizing that you have to keep rotating foods or you develop sensitivities even to safe ones. It seems like chicken is a prime candidate for that since that's all I've been having for so long.

But good idea to do day 1 or 2, since they don't have chicken yet. Good thing I haven't had lunch yet!

You don't develop a sensitivity in a few days. It takes months. I would think peas would be a separate test. It couldn't be considered safe, especially since it's a legume and you reacted to chickpeas. I thought you weren't sure you really passed rye?

Yes, correct. I didn't pass the rye soudough bread when I subbed it on the rye cracker test day. (So haven't re-tested rye on its own yet.) But I did pass the wheat sourdough, and everytime I re-do that day, I lose.

Mmmm. Good point on the pea protein being legume-derived. I shall make it a separate test at some point, but considering that, I think I'll test a whey protein bar first whenever I get there.

Good to know I don't have to worry about repeating foods just yet. The way sensitivities seemed to manifest for me in P3 testing sometimes made it look like it didn't take very long at all. I had so many inconclusive tests in all of that and FMD. I hope I get better at this technique soon. I'd really like to figure it out finally.

Just wanted to say I've been lurking here, and I'm crazy impressed with how diligent and patient you're doing with this plan. Admirable, to say the least

    O. I'm not at all patient. (Hence why Collen had to whip me with a wet noodle today.... Thank you, Colleen. )

However I am determined. And extremely motivated by terror of regaining. I feel like I've been fighting the maintenance battle witih a huge handicap--not being able to figure out why I'm gaining. THE PLAN seems like my best hope to figure it out.

Ah, wheat sourdough, gotcha. Okay, then I remove my objection. LOL

    Gain: .4

So that cancels out yesterday's loss. I did menu day 2 without the rice. So not sure what that's about, except I did have a cup of tea after 7:30 since I wasn't testing anything. So if its just that, then no biggie. I don't know if I actually reacted as I forgot to take my temp this morning.

I'm not sure, but I think I might had a 7 hours stretch of sleep last night--now that is huge. I just can't remember if I woke up or not, so yeah, if that gets repeated...very cool.

Guess I will do trusty Day8 again today. Its actually kind of hard to stop myself from doing a steak day at this point. But I shall persevere a while longer.

Oddly, the water drinking cut-off is getting to be a big hurdle for me in this. It just doesn't seem right not be able to have a hot drink in the evening if you want one.

I'm pretty impressed too Leez! I have read every page of this thread, and I've vacillated between "Oh, I've got to try this for my upcoming P4" to "Well, maybe I'll just see how Leez does". Do you think this is a better (more methodical) way to test during P4?
    ROUND ONE (7/4/15)
    Start 176.5lbs (+5.7lbs load)
    LIW 153.1lbs

    ROUND TWO (9/30/15)
    Start 157.9lbs (+6lb load)
    LIW 146.2
    Now in P4

It's definitely more methodical. But it is quite restrictive, and I wouldn't be doing it except that I didn't seem to be able to figure out things on my own. One of the things she promises in the book is that eventually, you will be eating like "you" (since as you test, you add more and more of your favorite foods in.) However, its looking like it is going to be a long time before I actually get to that point, if I ever do.

For instance, its not me to be eating two big salads every day, whether there is warm veggies on them or not. I don't see it becoming a preference either. So how much of this will actually translate into a sustainable plan later, I'm not sure. However, if it can pinpoint my hidden gaining triggers, than it will all be worth it. So far, I'm surprised that lamb is one. I already knew about eggs. However, I also discovered that I'm ok with almonds, which I had thought was a problem. It seems worth it to keep testing even things that I've previously avoided but would like to eat again. So I've gotten valuable information already, even though I haven't advanced very far in the program.
