I see its been about a month since my last update. I didn't get to keep the loss from my trip, sadly. In fact, I gained a pound back each day after the return. And that was while trying my best to repeat my menus from the trip to try to keep the loss, so I know it wasn't an over-eating regain. I stabilized at my prior-to-leaving weight.

My best guess is that the day of flying dehydrated me those couple of pounds. This makes sense, because I've noticed on other flying trips the same kind of loss on return that comes right back.

So onward without much progress, but enjoying eating each day without gaining more. That is a gift in itself. I'm gradually transitioning all grains & legumes I use to either soaking or sprouting. So that's my focus currently, to eat the most optimum forms of my healthy choices when possible. My latest discovery: raw cacoa nibs. I'm putting them in trail mix, and adding to yogurt toppings. Anyone that likes chocolate chips should give these a try, especially if you like your chocolate to have a crunch.

Leez, I finished the THM book and my cookbook arrived yesterday. I am excited to try start the plan in phase 4 and even some S meals in Phase 3 especially the shakes, I love my protein shakes. My question is regarding all the ingredients. I am going to buy the MCT, Gluccie, collegan, gelatin etc. Do you buy it from the THM site because it is more "pure?" I discovered the Netrittion site and am going to order the protein bars mentioned in this thread because I like them as a backup when I travel. Thanks!

It depends on the product. I buy the THM collagen, gluccomanan, and whey protein from them because they have the best price for that quality. But I don't like their stevia, and can't use the other sweeteners they sell because they are corn-based (although non-GMO). So you'll find you pick and choose for your own reasons.

Swansons also sells THM stuff, and you can often get free shipping there. I also get certain things through Netrition & Amazon. I generally get my peanut powder, oat fiber, psyllium husk there.

An update for those following my progress on THM.

In the next couple of month since my last update, I gradually gained 2-3 pounds that I haven't been able to shift downward again despite the various tweaks you can do with THM.

So I decided (reluctantly) to do another round of HCG. I was getting dangerously close to losing all my progress from my last round, and that is just not acceptable. I have no idea why the creep started again this time, but don't want to risk gaining even more while trying to figure it out.

So I'm in my 8th round currently and doing well so far. I'm now less than 5 pounds away from my adjusted LIW, but I'd really like to get back to my original number or a few pounds below. I'm not sure if I will try this again in maintenance.

Good luck, Leez! I sure hope you can figure out the problem. I pretty much stay with FMD, rotating between actually following the phases and just doing maintenance. It has worked for me pretty well.

Thanks! I may go back to some version of FMD, since I was able to stay stable on it for nearly 6 months once.

What I will not do is anything that leaves me hungry all of the time, or makes me feel bad like very-low carb. I have spent way too much of my life in that state of misery.

I'm back in P4 now for about a week and in my window, the same weight as when I entered P4. So I'm kind of jazzed about that.

I've been working on finding my variation of THM. I did do a couple single fuel days, but have lately been doing whatever breakfast I'm wanting, waiting till I'm hungry again (which is seeming to be longer than 3 hours) and then reversing that fuel source for the rest of the day. I've been eating sprouted bread and yesterday I had a sweet potato, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I've also had some plantain chips with my hummus. So not pushing any limits yet, just enjoying being able to have toast for breakfast again.

Since I'm at goal and not trying to lose, I've been enjoying some crossovers like hummus and adding chopped apple to a big salad with and oil dressing, but keeping E & S separate most of the time. So far, my body seems to be responding favorably.

Last nights restaurant dinner was smoked meat, salad, and the sweet potato with butter. And I was down .4 this morning. If this keeps up, talking scale and I might be able to be friends again.

The theory that I'm exploring right now is if I leave more time between fuel changes, that could make a difference in how my body processes the food I'm eating. I'm kind of thinking my digestion schedule may be slower than the 3 hour time suggested by THM. Keeping the fuel the same the rest of the day insures I don't have fuel overlaps. So we'll see how this goes, and I'll still try to do some single fuel days in the mix when I'm up for it.

I'm already seeing some good things. Like I think I may be able to cut back on my milk thistle and magnesium doses as elimination is improving.

I知 so glad that I found this thread! I will be reading my way through it. I知 about halfway through listening to the audio book of THM and was on the fence trying to decide if it痴 for me. I think I should just get the cookbook and try it! I知 on day 31 of P3, I知 stable, I知 just afraid to take the next step into p4!

    HI GWTCurls.

I saw your post on the Lovely Loser thread and was going to make a suggestion for you, but I think this is the place to do it. Here's my thought:

Having been on keto for a while, your body is used to buring ketones for energy. No matter what program you change to, you will have a time where the scale will be showing a gain with more than 20 grams carbs per day. This does not mean that you are gaining actual fat. It happens because when you add any significant amount of carbs back that take you out of ketosis, your body will hold on to some water weight because carbs take more water to process than fat and protein does. If you don't know to expect this, you can get freaked out by the gain and get trapped in what I call "scale jail". (O no! I can never eat another carb again!) I believe its a good decision to move on from keto, as when women do it long term, thyroid and adrenals can get out of balance and cause you problems you didn't have before.

Also, you could have developed some carb sensitivity from being so low on them for so long. What might work best for you is to do a month of FMD (fast metabolism diet) It would be a 28 day commitment, but it would fix any carb sensitivity. It definitely fixed mine. You will still go up some on the scale, but after the first week, you will start to lose that and should be fine by the end of the month. If you know what is going to happen, its not so scary. You just have to remember that your body needs some time to adjust to the change. After that month on the FMD, you should be fine to transition to THM, which is a much more sustainable long-term plan. Reduction of carb sensitivity will happen with THM, but it could take a lot longer.

If that idea sounds good to you, the FMD thread is here
Fast Metabolism Diet FMD for P4
and you can check out the overview link to get a better idea of what it is. You can do it without getting the book, but I would get the app to make meal selection easier. The list of fruits/veggies changes from phase to phase and its impossible to remember without a chart or app.

When you are ready for THM, definitely get the Trim Healthy Table book first. It has a simplified section on how to do the plan and lots of great recipes.
