    You have autoimmune issues, Leez. Any nightshades can cause a lot of inflammation when you have that. Things like tomatoes, onions, potatoes, peppers, and eggplant.

    hmmm. I've been eating red bell peppers and onions all along. I had onions nearly every day during THE PLAN.

    Thanks, getting great reviews already on Mermaid Moon! I wonder if the nightshades could have been part of making The Plan gains so hard to figure out?

    And it might interest you to know that The Wahl's Protocol for autoimmune includes eliminating gluten, EGGS, and grains.

    Mermaid Moon...what an intriguing title. I shall investigate.

    Was just doing some reading, and it seems onions are not nightshades. During THE PLAN I didn't eat any of the others. I just started eating red peppers again in THM ( I mostly put them in salads). Are onions particularly bad for auto-immune problems?

    How long did you do the auto-immune diet before you saw healing?

    I was reading that too. Onions aren't bad for autoimmune since they're not a nightshade though I did an anti inflammatory diet for about 3 years and it's basically the same thing. It was back when I was so sick. Dr. Wahls eliminates dairy, soy, eggs, grains. She only eliminates nightshades if someone doesn't improve. But basic autoimmune that everyone else does eliminates nightshades from the get go then you can test everything after you're off all those things a few months. I eliminated nightshades when I did it back in the day. Now all I really avoid is gluten. I'm okay with dairy which is rare with autoimmune issues. Gluten and dairy usually go hand in hand.

    When I did a whole 75 I eliminated night shades, and my three that I used to be sensitive to via blood draw, oranges, beef and eggs. Night shades because I used to have RA. I stuck to it for 75 days back in 2013. I think I shed 5 pounds in that time. It felt fairly restrictive.

    I tend to do ok on raw tomatoes and gain on cooked. I am going to test and see if that's still the case.
