Weight at the hospital yesterday was the same as Mondays weight but it included all my clothes and shoes so hopefully I will see a loss next Monday.

    That sounds promising Ginger.

I'm up some. This whole week has been bouncing around in the same pound. Its looking like my new normal. Not liking that.

Plan for today E - S - E. Not sure about snacks. Breakfast was good: Ezekiel sprouted toast with pnut spread and half a banana. I give the peanut spread some body by mixing in a LC cheese wedge. Ricotta works too, but makes it fluffier.

I didn't think I would be happy with half a banana, but I was. I have to stay aware of the portion stuff. I measure/weigh most everything to keep myself honest.

    Hi all!

I'm jumping on the THM bandwagon. I bought the book last P4, but I've not read it yet. I've scoured the FB groups and enough websites as well as this thread, which has helped, but it's still so confusing. I know, I know...read the book. lol

    I found this...
    THM.jpg

I can't eat eggs and a lot of things, so I end up having this protein smoothie for breakfast 3-4 times a week. By the time I drink it, I've usually had a big workout, so I like getting a good amount of protein.

    1-1.5 cup mixed berries
    1 cup 2% Fage
    Scoop Jay Robb protein powder
    1 cup of Kale
    1 Truvia

So that's a solid E meal? Would the 0% Fage be better?

I would NOT want to drink my bulletproof coffee until 3 hours later, right? If I have coffee during those three hours it should have skim milk?

I just had a chef salad with ham, turkey, bacon, homemade full-fat ranch, and lettuce. That would be an S, right? But it also had shredded carrots. Does that mess it up? Next time should I leave off the carrots unless it's a version with no fat?

Thanks so much for helping me get started!
    Blessings,
    Nicole

Welcome! This is great...we can compare egg-free recipes.

Your smoothie just barely qualifies for an E if you keep it to 1 C. Fage assuming there are no other fat calories anywhere else. (you are allowed 5g fat for an E meal) I think 0% is better if would use your fat grams for MCT oil...more benefits. You need at least 20g carb for an E meal.

It looks to me like you could have your bullet proof coffee with it and call the meal an S. I think your smoothie is actually a Fuel Pull, because it doesn't have more than 10 carb grams or 5 fat g from the sources that you count from. (most berries are limited to 1 C. in an S) The wisdom seems to be that you don't want to be using FP's for meals especially at first.

Hmm...so a cup of berries doesn't put it over the limit? Okay, so what if I use coconut milk and FFF in the smoothie and have my bp coffee? That would make it a good S meal, right? Is that a better plan?

And does it matter how many S or E meals in a day? Like is it better to rotate like Monday have S, E, S and Tuesday E, S, E...? Or does it not matter?

    Thanks!!
    Blessings,
    Nicole

You are allowed up to a cup of berries in an S meal. (but only 1/2C blueberries).

Keep greek yogurt to a cup and you can use either 0% or 2%. You can add coconut milk along with the yogurt if it doens't have more than 1 carb, and then combine with your coffee for an S meal.

I just buy the % greek yogurt and if I'm having an S meal, I add another good fat.

They want you to have 5-6 E meals per week. You can distribute it however you like. Most people rotate during a single day, others do entire E or S days.

No weight report today. I got up too early and I was hungry. Yesterday, I ended up doing all E meals. When I do that, I seem to be very hungry the next morning.

I had a yummy breakfast today of overnight crockpot barley with a peach & Silk cashew milk, and collagen in my coffee. Probably should have had some greek yogurt with it for enough protein, but I was full. I sometimes add frozen cherries to the barley before cooking--that's also good. The barley turns pink and makes a beautiful dish.

I have one of those small crockpots that I float a stainless bowl in to do a 1-serving size of overnight grains. Its great because it enforces portion control. And if I eat it right out of the cooking bowl, no extra dishes to wash.

Hope everyone weathers the SuperBowl parties on plan today.

Okay. So, I was creeping up a bit. I was 3 pounds over LIW a few days ago. I did the THM plan for two days and dropped a pound each day. Do you think it can really have that effect? Or was it more likely just a correction from inflammation? I know it's intended to be a slower weight loss plan, which is fine, but do you think it really can be that agreeable with a person that it could have an obvious effect that fast?
    Blessings,
    Nicole

I lost the first 2 days on it. My loss could have been inflammation loss too, so hard to say.

They warn you that you might not lose weight right away. So I expect everyone responds differently.

Baking up a batch of Just Like Grandmas Rolls today. Its an S bread without eggs, and is a big help to me to enjoying my S meals. I highly recommend it if you can use the other ingredients. She gives some subs for some of them.

    Cool.

That looks awesome Haven't tried oats yet, but I intend to this week. We have steel-cut oats on the breakfast bar at work. However, the hazelnut flour would send me to the ER. Would almond flour be an okay sub? I don't see nutrition facts in that post, do you know how many carbs per roll?

    Thanks!

I use almond flour in mine and its great. She apparently has an almond sensitivity so that's why the hazelnut flour, which is super expensive anyway. If you find you have a problem with oats, you can try using more psyllium husk instead of the oat fiber. Just a guess, but for the closest result, probably powdered psyllium would be a better switch-out for the oat fiber rather than the whole husk, because the oat fiber is really fine.
