I am starting my 5th round after 4 years. THM looks very doable with excellent principles. I thought I would ask my question here .

I feel THM Would give me more structure than the general paleo I was doing and still gaining on. I like the idea of 3 types of fuel meals.

My question is for those out there who have done prior rounds but had rocky stabilization and maintenance .Do you feel that THM solves some of those issues for you. Is maintenance easier ?

Any input would be so appreciated!

Flower: I tried THM to lose weight but all I did was stay the same. I can't seem to lose weight except with hcg so I am doing another round. I believe that is because I am peri-menopausal and my body wants to hang on to weight.

I think THM in P4 it can be a good plan for many. Some people still have inflammation to different foods so you still have to be careful about what you are eating.

I haven't lost yet with THM, but I am still hopeful. You might look into FMD. It is a bit more structured, but I was able to lose some on it. It was a good way to learn combining principles that you can then more easily apply to THM when it is more of a free styling plan.

After 30 days on THM, exact same weight. That's the good news...I'm maintaining fabulously. The bad news is I haven't been able to lose that 10 or so lbs I gained back after R3. I suspect the weight coming back on is due to doc lowering thyroid meds during round and then not allowing me to increase after the round. Darn it. Well, I won't make that mistake again, right?

I've just ordered myself some more hcg and supplies. I keep telling myself, in just 30 short days I can get that weight back off and continue with maintaining THM-style. I was going to just keep trucking along, but the muffin top & belly fat is just so uncomfortable and my big size 6s don't fit so well. I'm a shorty (5'2" w/small frame) so the 120s would suit me better than the 130s. I also suspect that I may have lingered around my current weight for some time in the past...so the bod is used to this weight.

Well, here's hoping that my head is truly in the game and the 30 days fly by.
    Round 3:
    SW (8/1/15): 134.8 lbs. (+5 lbs R2 LIW)
LIW (8/29/15): 123.2 lbs. TOTAL LOSS -11.6 lbs.; 17.75 inches

    Went from a tight size 12 (164 lbs) to size 6 (123).

Apr 2016 Update: In the midst of Round 4 with a goal of ~123 lbs AGAIN, but more importantly, I'm looking to lose inches. 4/10/16: 126.6; size 6s loose.

This is my first weigh-in since returning from our Florida trip. I'm down 3.2 pounds. YAY. The last time I was this low was the beginning of January. I'm still 3 pounds over where I started THM in December, but 3 is better than 6.

So maybe thats how you lose weight on THM---you go on vacation! haha!

I basically kept the formula, but didn't have any special ingredients and didn't use any collagen or sweeteners while away. I used small amounts of honey and maple syrup instead. I did have a couple light crossovers too, when that was the best choice from what was available. If there was a meal with ingredients I couldn't eat, I would just have a protein bar, so that's how I dealt with any problem or fast-food meals. I ate a lot of oats and Ezekiel sprouted bread--way more bread than I would normally eat.

I may just continue on the plain foods and see if I can continue to make progress that way.

I forgot to take my probiotics with me, but I seemed to be OK with the week off them too.

Had a yummy FP snack today: Deli roast beef spread with a LLC swiss wedge & horseradish, and wrapped around English cucumber spears dressed with a few drops of balsamic vinegar and fresh cracked pepper. I was surprised how good it was, not being much of a meat person.

Do you mind my asking which baking recipes you find yourselves making again and again? I'm just starting to use their cookbook and am trying to figure out whether to invest in some of their specialty baking items, like their baking mix and glucomannon, etc. Any advice?

Fantastic news, Leez, about losing while on vacation. I unfortunately did not. Unlike you, I ate what was offered to me, including fried chicken and a very pasta-isa lasagna. It's that "not wanting to trouble anyone" coming back to haunt me. It's Thursday and I'm finally returning to the weight I was when I left for MI with my family last Friday. (Sigh)
