Back from my trip. I ate well, including some crossovers, but followed timing and combining rules, and am happy to report that I am the same weight as when I left 2 weeks ago. Interestingly, my jeans are loser, so not sure what that means. Maybe I have some travel bloat weight that will leave over the next couple of days. That would be nice. I did spend several hours a day in dance rehearsals, so maybe some toning up happened.

Probably the greatest thing about traveling now is that I didn't have elimination issues on either trip. That has always been a problem in the past.

The event went very well, and I had a great time. I have a new grand nephew! He was born while I was in town and I got to visit and stock up on a good supply of new baby snuggles, gurgles, and squeaks. (He is the most perfect baby ever, of course!)

Welcome back Leez. Hope your trip was great. Congrats on your new nephew and on doing such a good job maintaining! I am about done with my round and am looking forward to my vacation coming up a week from tomorrow. I will of course be on P3 so can't really do thm but hope to maintain as well as you and look forward to trying thm again on P4. Am going to use what I have learned (from you and online) about using fuel pulls more as meals to help!

    Hello:

I'm jumping in to your thread. I am just finishing P3 of a successful first round today and starting P4 and THM tomorrow. I hope to start a second round of HCG by the beginning of May but I really like the logic of THM for lifetime eating. When I started HCG a couple of months ago, I thought I'd be craving pizza by now but the only thing that interests me in the next few days of P4 is oatmeal. So far, so good with minor sensitivities. My skin seems the most sensitive, very itchy and uncomfortable. I have to remind myself to drink more water; maybe that will help.
I really wanted my husband to join me when I started the HCG but he refuses to give up his soda. Maybe I can ease him into THM!

    Hey Dawn, welcome!

Itchy skin might indicate that you have some reactivity to something you added in P3. It sometimes happens when your body reacts by producing histamines to some irritant. Maybe you can figure it out so you can avoid it while THM'ing.

I love oatmeal...its one of my favorite P3 breakfasts. I make it with steel cuts oats in the slow cooker overnight, with cranberries and apples. So creamy and yummy with vanilla almond milk.

Today's breakfast was a mix of brown and wild rice, hulled barley and a few mung beans for extra protein. With fruit and almond milk, of course!

Leez, im so happy that your trip went well as well as your maintaining. Congrats!!! Seems like your body is happy with what you are feeding it. All your meals sound so good. I dont have a slowcooker but the steel cut oats sounds good with the cranberries. I occasionally eat a box of dried cranberries because they are so delicious but very high in sugar. The THM seems to agree with you.

At least for now I seem to be stable with it. I still have a few more pounds to lose to get back to LIW though. Maybe that will be something that happens very slowly. That would be ok with me as long as I don't gain any more.

Its easy to throw a few frozen or fresh cranberries in the crockpot with the oatmeal, and you avoid the sugar in the dried ones that way.

Thanks Leez, I hadn't thought of a food sensitivity but I'm paying closer attention now. And I'm trying to drink more water, which seems to be a problem for me!

Yes! Down a half pound today. So that means I'm less than when I left 2 weeks ago. Body temp and sleep normal.

Had a strange itchy rash on my torso this morning. I hadn't had any xylitol while away, but also had green beans last night for dinner--which is a vegetable I hadn't yet reintroduced since before starting THE PLAN. So now I'm wondering if either is responsible.

I have been trying a homeopathic remedy for hotflashes (luchesis mutus), but I'm not seeing any effects. O well, for $5, it was worth a try. I have a few doses left, so I'll just finish it out. But from what I've been reading, I probably was dosing it wrong anyway. Seems pretty complicated.

Pleasantly surprised to be down another .2 today.

I think maybe that a key for me is to keep things simple. While away, I just avoided anything with sauces (mainly because I would have no way of knowing if some corn product was used) and stuck to a few known, safe purchased things like Ezekiel 4:9 bread, natural peanut butter, and pure dairy stuffs. When we ate out, I ordered grilled or steamed preparations. That worked out great in oriental and tex-mex restaurants. I used my Rise bars for meal replacements or snacks when nothing else suitable was available. It worked out quite well.

I may just continue that pattern here at home. I wonder if having so much variety available all the time is a pitfall for me to eat more than I need. I know the special ingredients seem to have that effect for me, as its always tempting to try out some new on-plan goodie. I was happy with a square or two of chocolate while away. Just something to think about.

My neighborhood farmer's market will be opening in a couple weeks. Its close enough that I can walk to it. I'm really looking forward to that.

Good for you. On a roll it seems. I know you love to cook so yes i agree that simpler is better. Works for m. Tomorrow will be eating my husbands delicious whole wheat lasagna with spicy sausage and ground chuck with tons of cheese. Also will have a mixed green salad with pepitas and cranberries

Catching up on this thread now that I'm out of P2. I was trying to stay focused until then. Great to see the successes and gained insight some of you are experiencing.

As for me, I'm DONE! Reached my goal and start P3 tomorrow. Looking forward to implementing the THM principles longterm.
    Blessings,
    Nicole
