The scale has bumped up again, so I've decided to do a fuel cycle for a week to see if I can learn anything. I started yesterday, and what I've learned so far is that deep S is really hard at breakfast when you can't eat eggs and don't like breakfast meats.

This morning I had one of the big boy smoothies. Yesterday, it was rainy and cold and I just couldn't face a cold breakfast too, so I choked down some chicken sausage and baby spinach sauteed in butter before rushing off to church. I needed a snack while out, so took along some skinny fudge and collagen to put in coffee. It worked out OK, but none of that was anything I would normally choose to eat in the mornings. Today after the smoothie, I am trying to warm up again. Mornings should not be this stressful!

I'm going to try to do the fuel cycle dairy-free, and am also going to try to get in some okra and collagen each day. Other than that, I'll just choose whatever is appealing to me within the day's guidelines.

I'm super glad tomorrow is an E day. I plan to have a nice bowl of crockpot oats waiting for me in the morning.

But anyway....the worst of it is over and I don't have to fit weird foods into any of the rest of today's meals, so I'm good. I think I actually gained after the first day of deep S, but I don't weigh on Sunday since its too early, so not sure where I started out.

I've had some issues maintaining this round loss and found out my thyroid was in the tank. The dr had switched me from Armour to synthetic T3 and T4 and there isn't enough T3 in it evidently. I am waiting on a call back from her to change my dose. But the main reason I wanted to talk to you about this, Leez, is that I'm doing The Plan again and I was rereading a series of emails I'd exchanged with Lyn-Genet. She mentioned that PORK is fairly reactive, 70%, and asked me what thyroid med I was on back when I did it the first time. I started The Plan last Thursday and have lost 5 pounds so far. I now think that the porcine thyroid med I was on the first time affected my results back then. I'm so much less puffy and feel downright awesome at the moment. I haven't failed anything yet either, not even chickpeas which I failed the first time around.

So I just wanted to mention this in case the porcine based thyroid med is affecting you too. So sorry you had a lousy day yesterday! Hopefully today will be better!

Glad you are feeling better this time on THE PLAN. So sorry that you had maintenance problems though. After all that time and effort spent losing it, its so hard to see the pounds creep back on again when you are trying you best to keep your progress.

I actually had a reaction to the Armour a while ago...but thought I traced it to a formulation change. When I went back to older meds without the cornstarch fillers, I seemed to be fine. And pork has always seemed friendly for me. My big test fail shock was lamb. But something to think about for sure. I know there is a brand of bovine dessicated thyroid available out there. I'm not sure how available it is though.

Ironically, I was actually planning some pork bone broth soup for lunch today. -_-

I had no clue I had an issue with pork but i'm pretty sure I was when I see how much easier The Plan is without a pork thyroid in my life. LOL I just wanted to pass it along. Your WP-Throid is porcine based and I thought it might be playing a part.

Its sobering when you find out such a tiny quantity of something can have such a huge effect. At the height of the reaction, I was getting hives all over my body. From such a tiny little pill.

I'll see what I can find out about the bovine formulation.

It's amazing what we find out over time....sorry you are having to deal w/ this

I'm getting major blood testing done next week for ALL allergens and it will be VERY interesting to see if I'm eating things that I shouldn't be. I've been staying VERY stable at 156....happy with at 5'8........but it seems like when I eat tortilla chips (corn) or any kind of coconut product...I will go up 2 lbs. overnight so I wouldn't be surprised if I have an allergen to both of them. As long as they do NOT tell me that avocados are OUT then I'll be ok

No reason to test when you know! And quite honestly, those blood tests aren't accurate, plus your body can change and shift from month to month.

Well, I'm NOT positive so that's why I was going to do it.

Now that I hear from you that they aren't accurate, I may not do it after all.......hmmmmmm

I may just go in for my yearly blood test and not do the allergy testing.....they need to check my whole panel including hormones so I'll definitely do that for sure. Thanks Grammy

You could always do The Plan and test it!

I've gotten back on THE PLAN for a week or two just to test a couple things. Once you get through the 3 day cleanse, you can test whatever you like.

It's not as hard as it sounds. LOL On her website are some recipes for making some things in bulk. I make the carrot-ginger soup in bulk. That stuff is magical for tamping down inflammation.
