It is all an interesting experiment. LOL! Celery has so much water you would never think it could be a culprit!

I can do sour dough. I will have to try the other grains. I just saw a recipe for millet tortillas. Looked good.

I started another round on June 1. I did a short one in March but with my trip to Mexico/Easter etc. I did not get to where I wanted. It was a super slow round and I didn't lose much. I maintained fairly well all things considered and this round will see me to goal. WHoo Hoo. I can feel it. That and it's only 10lbs more to go at day 3. LOL. Slowly, slowly sometimes.

I know....its such a shock when you find out something everyone says is great for you turns out to be a problem food.

Hope your last round is peaceful. Its nice to know you can go back to HCG and know its going to work.

Interesting to read, ladies, how sourdough bread works for you. And Leez, sprouted grain breads. I'm reading a book right now called Grain of Truth which substantiates how fermenting grains before baking the bread changes the gluten to be digestible. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

My doctor was happy to see me and thought I was doing great when I saw him, even though I was 4 lbs. above ideal. Presently, I am up 5 lbs. from that appointment! TOM struck and I've been eating abominably, so inflammation is high and I'm carrying around water weight.

Leez, I so admire your persistence, dedication, and self discipline. I hope I can improve so that I don't develop any (more?) allergies. Funny how denying myself while doing the strict HCG diet was easier than eating during maintenance. While I do say no to most things, it's those things I say yes to that cause the gains. Isn't it shocking how many opportunities there are to eat poorly? I need to get back to my autopilot responses of, "I can't eat that," or "That causes me to gain." The tricky part of THM for me is remembering to wait in between FP and E and S meals. They tend to become FPES meals...

It's a daily battle to stay aware isn't it? I mostly try not to venture off my safe foods list, and that pretty much keeps me in line.

I hear you about the waiting times feeling too long around FP snacks or meals. Especially on a "snacky" kind of day. I try to keep some gummies made up so that if I give into the urge to snack, at least I'm just having an "ultra fuel pull" bite of protein instead of a full snack.

About the grain...interestingly, though I react to rye flour, I am fine if it is soured. I'm not sure about sprouted yet, but I'm going to try at some point.

I ignore my doctors disapproval at a few pounds above the optimum. He needs to lose at least 40 pounds himself, so shut up!

I hope you can get a hold on your gaining issues. I know its tough.

I tried amaranth as a breakfast cereal yesterday, and no gain today. Actually a nice loss, so thats a pass for me. It was nice, but I don't like it any better than steel cut oats. Its a little more exotic, so I spiced it with some cardamom and vanilla. I might try mixing it with brown rice next time.

Weight was up some in a fluctuation, so even though I had a loss today, there was no net loss for the week. I seem to be treading water at this same weight for a few months now. Its not enough to consider doing another HCG round, but its just enough that I'm uncomfortable with it.

So on to more experimenting with FPs and deep S, I guess. I seem to lose on days where I do 2 FP meals.

At least its summer now and hot, so the FP shakes are all tasting pretty good these days.

I made a really interesting egg-free muffin recipe today. The batter is just soaked red lentils and leavening that you put in a blender to make a batter.. So amazing. They are a good muffin texture and so pretty. They are kind of a peach color after baking with a brighter orange top where the lentils dry out a bit from the oven. They almost look like they are iced. So cool. Bread and protein in one little muffin cup.

The lentil muffins sound interesting! You could always try a fuel cycle too if you need to. Or just do full days of each meal type.

I did a fuel cycle in May for a week. It didn't seem to change anything. I think you have to wait a while before you do another one. What I did learn is that I can do a whole day of FP and not feel like I'm deprived. And that sticking to deepS in a meal is hard! (I always want that little bit of cheese or seeds or fruit and that ripe avocado that is calling to me! )

I occasionally do a whole day of one meal type. But mixing it up in the day is so much nicer. I'm kind of toying with the idea of getting back into THE PLAN for a while again. But I'd like it a whole lot better if I could get things moving with THM.

    Hello all,
I'm 166, but would prefer 159. Most all my shorts fit but snugly rather than loosely. I ate sourdough toast with eggs this morning instead of sprouted grain bread because it was in the house and I read somewhere it was okay. Tomorrow morning will give me feedback. I have been avoiding sugar like the plague for the last week, although I have had wine (at the neighbor's).
Hope you are all doing well or at least better than me. I am not high enough to merit another round, nor would I be tempted to do that again because of the expense and hair loss. I also believe that I am learning slowly but surely what to eat and what not to.

I'm right there with you Abs. I'm still in my same clothes, but I feel the extra weight. So also not high enough for another round. To be honest, I would be very happy never to do another round. How did it go with the sourdough?

Reporting in just to say I'm floating along at the same weight, so 5-7 pounds over LIW seems to be my new set point. I was hoping the fuel cycle would shake things up and it did seem to for like one minute. But here I am again. Even so, I don't feel any great urgency about it. Which I'm sure I would if I were still gaining.

Alternating between sourdough bread and sprouted wheat bread. Today I had no bread, but did have popcorn--family's influence...Excuses, excuses...

I've been drinking more water and tea lately to help resist temptations.

5-7 lbs. above LIW doesn't sound bad, Leez, as long as it's a set-point and you're not rising higher. Every morning, I step on the scale wondering if I'm going higher. When I don't drop lower, I feel resigned to this higher weight. Perhaps that's not the right attitude to get back down to 159, but until I try harder, I'm just grateful to still fit in most of my shorts and shirts.

On the days that you eat anti-inflammatory foods, do you find your stomach goes down? My stomach tends to poof out after a higher-carb day.

Today I was offered donuts during my son's speech therapy. Donuts! Fortunately, I resisted, explaining that until I need to gain weight, I won't eat donuts. This nice man was trying to give me a treat. We live in a crazy time, where foods that pack on pounds are being offered to many of us who are fighting to fit in normal sizes.

Yes, I do. The weeks I was away this spring I didn't weigh, and that turned out alright. But I have trouble not weighing when I'm at home. I just want to know, and I tend to stress out more when I don't.

This past week I tried a couple things with putting only S and FP meals as the last meal/snack of the day to see if less carbs at night would make a difference. It did not. So another tweak to check off the list as a fail. I figure each try is another learning experience.

Still holding. So that is okay with me.
