FFF/Steak combo correction day-1st time, need suggestions

    Hi,

Ive been reading a few posts about the FFF/steak combo Correction day and wanted to try it. Can someone give me the exact protocol that you used that worked? Ive never had the Fage yogurt so Im nervous about trying a new food while in correction mode but Im willing to try it if it works. First, what is the schedule of eating the yogurt and steak throughout the day?

What kind of Fage yogurt do I need,, fat free, low fat, or regular?

what kind of Steak, and how much

You eat full fat greek yogurt and blue berries for breakfast. You can use 2% if you can't find full fat. There is no portion recommended. Eat enough to satisfy you.

You eat the steak late afternoon, just like you would if you were doing a regular steak day. Any well marbled steak will do, but if you think its not fatty enough, cook in butter or olive oil or have some coconut oil candy for dessert.

You can drink coffee with cream throughout the day on a correction day. I find that helps me get through missing the "chewing".

If you are avoiding dairy, this is not a good correct day to experiment with.

So for this Fage/steak day combo: I can only have breakfast & lunch or Breakfast & dinner? Im not clear on how many meals/or how many times I eat during this combo?

Im avoiding dairy, but I dont know if im sensitive to it or not; I just started using some heavy cream in coffee, but I dont know if it has affected my weight, due to the already 5 lbs gain that I had. Im down 1 lb from a steak day last week, so Im still 4 lbs up. I have dropped back eating just meats for today. IM also concerned about the large salads that I eat with just lettuce/peppers/tomatoes/cucumbers and no carb/sugar free--I feel they may be packing in hidden carbs?

That correction day is two meals. You can have them whenever you wish. But generally, breakfast and dinner works for most people. It is basically a steak day, but you get a big protein/fat boost from the greek yogurt earlier in the day.

If you are dairy sensitive, you will not do well with this method. I'm egg sensitive. The way I finally figured it out was from trying and all-egg correction day. I gained over 2 pounds. I think that was a clue!

If you were doing the regular FFF correction day, you can have 8 oz blueberries and a quart of greek yogurt spread over the day. So you can figure general portions from that. I'd say 1/2- 1 cup berries would be reasonable in as much greek yogurt as it takes to satisfy you.

Honestly, you are way too concerned about carbs. P3 is not about being super low carb. Yes, avoid starchy carbs but vegetable carbs are not limited at all except for starchy root vegetables like white potatos. Enjoy your favorite low glycemic vegetables and fruit if you wish, and do not count carbs. You can make your salads hefty with avocado and bacon and pumpkin seeds without cheese or other dairy. Full fat dressings with 1 carb per serving are fine in P3.

You want to be eating lots of veggies in P3. They help your body process all the heavy fats and proteins, so big salads are great.

    Thanks Leez,

I dont think I will do this bc I think I am dairy sensitive. Are there any correction days that include salad or some veggies? All of this meat is getting too much.

Maybe do a test on the greek yogurt alone at some point. Sometimes dairy sensitive people can tolerate a cultured form occasionally.

Here is a sample menu of a meal plan that can be used to back down a pound or so. Its generally used when you think you are about to go over your 2 pound limit. You can adapt this with other veggies, for instance baby spinach instead of lettuce, Cucumber instead of celery, etc.

Drink lots of water throughout the day.
    Breakfast (optional): 2 eggs
Lunch :a whole can of water packed tuna with mayo on lettuce or celery
Dinner: big protein portion of your choice, normal size salad with 1 carb or less dressing

If you are already doing a string of various correction days, you can't expect the same result you would get when it is just used occasionally. There is only just so much extra water that your body will push out from these lower carb strategies.
