I've been thinking about trying a resistant starch (RS) regimen because of what people say about how it helps you sleep better.

But in reading up on it, there are just as many bad reports as good ones. And a couple are scary, as one was someone who had long-term after-effects (not good) even after a long time off of it because of the type of bacteria the starch was feeding. This was someone who didn't know they had SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacteria Overgrowth), so the theory was that the RS fed the bad bacteria in the small intestine that were responsible for the SIBO in the first place.

I also read that if you have thyroid issues, or other auto-immune situations that it might not be a good idea. Other reports say it reduces inflammation, and then someone else will say it made their inflammation worse.

I would be interested to hear anyone's experience with resistant starch supplementation.

In the meantime, I think I'll try raw honey, which might be a safer way to try to get better sleep.
