    Sugarfree

There was a woman who trolled our forum a while back. The minute she started spouting off about how bad the hcg diet was, I knew she had an agenda to push her own diet. And that's what she's doing. I want you to read a friend's experience with her. Charlotte is very savvy about her health and is an experienced hcger. Here is what happened to her. If you're tempted to try this woman's protocol, you might want to think again.

Shaka, the violent king of the Zulu Nation once explained, how to trap a monkey. Here goes:
You put something shiny in a glas with a narrow neck and hang it up where the monkey can see and reach it. The monkey, greedy for this shiny Thing puts his hand in there and grabs it. Now, having a fist, he cannot withdraw from the narrow bottleneck as hard as he tries. Not wanting to let go of his treasure, he is trapped.

Similar is my experience with a woman, who calls herself Lisa and operates the Website sugarfreegoodies.com.
She solicits her clients among the HCG-Forums (and others) by putting the fear of serious damage to their metabolism and worse into them, if they continued to take HCG. She makes some good points, but does not provide sufficient evidence to support her claims. So People, who stall or re-gain some of their weight after a round then blame it on the HCG and flog to her. She promises to fix their metabolism and get them lose their weight in the process. Something that would appeal to most of us

The procedure is as follows: first, you pay her 1.000,- US$, which are not refundable. After you have paid, she sends you an app. 12 page long instruction as to how to follow her protocol. This, you have to sign and send back. When this is done, you get a list of supplements to take. She also wants to see your labs. Not too many, please, as she is only interested in a few. Mind you. she does not care what kind of problems you have. Like having a sensitivity to eggs. She still wants you to eat them.

Then, she signs you in on fitday, so you can plan you daily menues, 60 g of Protein, 50 g of fat and 25 g of carbs. Then there are carbs you eat that do not Count. Measure your 1 and 2 hr PP. This you Report on her Website everyday. The day before, you send her your planned menue, which she tweaks as she sees fit. Of course, all this has to be done in a certain way. Don't dare to put it not in in the right way

I did it exactly for 10 days, then she "suspended" me. Yes, you are reading this right, she actually suspended me, those were her words, like I was a 15 year old School Girl who had just smoked a cigarette in the School building and got caught. My crime? Well, not really sure. I guess the first one was, that I did not let her get away with "tweaking" my introduction which she askes everyone to write. I wrote one too, of course, but when she put it up on her Website, I hardly recognized it anymore. She had also revealed to her ardent Readers that I was Smoking which I think is None of her Business to reveal. But what really ticked me off was the fact that she completely changed my wording by saying, that HCG had seriously damaged my health which I have never said. So I told her that she had to take is off. She did not like that at all and I was not going to start until she put the record straight. She finally did but from that Moment on, things got weird. Even something little as not putting a dash at the right place ticked her off and she got really nasty. She erased my comment on the protocol of another person, she did not post, what I wrote and because I put in my protocol for the Weekend on saturday and sunday, instead of Monday (mind you I was travelling on Monday, so I could not do it then), she erased that too. She keeps total control over her Website, and she does not allow any more than one comment as she "does not have the time to read it all before she allows it to go up".

Finally one day not far into the diet, my name disappeared from her Website. I could not find it anymore. So I thought she had decided to suspend me by removing my protocol and so I wrote to her and told her that I accepted her cancellation of my protocol and that she should just give me back my money and end of story. Then she wrote back that she had not cancelled but that I was suspended until I gave her a sincere apology and that she was fed up with me. That was quite some time ago and I have never again heard from her.

No one knows, who she is except for her first name, she has her Website registered in Arizona, but claims to live in New York. Meanwhile, I have been suspended for almost 1 month and this might go on forever. I am dead sure that I will never see my money again nor hear from her. Since I don't know who she is, my chances of reclaiming it would be tedious, to say the least. As I am not a monkey after all, I let go of the shiny Thing and am free.

Just to see, where this goes I did the math and that is what I came up with. App. 30 participants in the past 1,5 years, with an increasing tendency. The average stay on her protocol is 95 days, income from those 30 participants 30 000 US$ which makes an income per Person of 321,82 US$ per month. Not bad, he?
Average weight loss on her diet 0.9 lbs per week, average starting weight 201.3 lbs. Total calories 700 - 800 to be consumed in one meal between 11 and 1 o'clock. My personal experience: .6 Pounds gain in 10 days.

Wow, what a scam! Did I read that correctly...that each person pays one thousand dollars?! Way to take advantage of people who are desperately looking for help!

I thought it said $1 by where the decimal was but considering Charlotte wants a refund, you may be right, maybe $1,000. Crazy.

Really ought to take her to small claims or make a fraud complaint to the police.

I would like to chime in on this topic.

Unfortunately I have been caught by this lady, too. Everything is like Charlotte said (if not worse... but back to that later).

    Want to hear my story?
It happened last year and I all I can say I would have been happy to had known HCG and this forum before. But I didn't. In the last days I have now read ALL the threads with "Sugarfree" in the boxing ring - and I am can see how sneaky she pushed her own agenda and that all she was about was making people unsecure and then offering "the solution" - which she in fact never reveals 100 % to stay in total control of the person she has caught.

But let me start from the beginning: I found her blog. I read a lot. (In fact is was the first time I heard something about HCG on her page - so HCG seemed like something very bad to try.) I liked what she wrote, everything seemed to be so logical and science based. But I missed her protocol on her site. So I asked her where I could find it... and then it began. I went into her trap.

She convinced me that literally nothing else than HER protocol would help me to loose weight or to keep it off. But of course her secret protocol is totally individual and based on my blood tests. Which intrigiued me even more! She doesn't only write e-mails but wants to talk on the phone, too. This is the most important step to convince her future victims, that they are very sick and there will be no cure other than HER protocol. She told me that she had helped so many people and that it had taken so much of her time. Therefore she is charging 1,000 US$ for her consultation, but this consultation will last for 1-2 years. She let it seem to me, that this fee is only of a symbolic value compared to what she had to give me.

I really didn't have the money at that time but was desperate to let me help (and at this point I was convinced that there was no other solution). So I paid. She wants to be paid via PayPal "gift for family & friends", so I realized there would be no possibility for a refund (and already at this time I wondered if she pays taxes on this income).

I didn't have much information and after I paid I shortly thought how silly it was to pay a total stranger so much money without having anything written in my hands. But as I wrote: I thought SHE was my only solution to get out of the fat trap.

Of course I had to do expensive lab tests which only she could interpret correctly. Medical doctors have no clue about it. And surprise, surprise: my results revealed everything she had already predicted. But don't worry, help is on the way. I was SO happy that I found her, things were even worse with me than I had thought!

As soon I had paid the money I received my (un-)welcoming letter from her which I had to sign. This is a letter full of commandments written in a harsh tone. Dare you to get a single dash wrong (means not as SugarFree wants it) in your report. But I had payed so much money... and needed help. So I didn't say anything.
SEcond you have to buy a bunch of supplements. Use her amazon-affiliate-link to do it.

Then the protocol began. First then I realized, that everything that is posted on her blog is edited (others would call this censoring) or even not let up on the site. Even if there are comments on my thread, there will only be them, that SugarFree had approved before. Even my own kind comments to other participants were somtimes not let up. I felt like a teenager which parents keep track on how much and with whom they communicate.
But I had paid so much money... so again didn't complain.

The protocol: She let me sign to not reveal it to anybody, but as everybody here might know already it is basically a very high fat diet based on The Optimal Diet written by Dr. Kwasniewski (which I found later).

She wanted to me to only have one meal daily, between 11 am and 1 pm. No exeptions. The report mus be done until a certain time of day. This report requires a lot of work! Even my fastest report took me 30 minutes, but often I needed 1 hour or more to complete my tasks. Fitday stats were inaccurate in her eyes, so that had to be recalculated to. And if I did a mistake, got a dash wrong or anything else, I was scolded... but what should I do? I had paid so much money. So I said nothing.

She is absolutely not interested in other of your health issues. Even if they interfere with her protocol. And she is absolutely not interested to hear that you have to work and that they maybe was no possibility to eat in her time window. Or take blood sugar readings at exact times. (How can you do this if sitting with clients and you are not diabetic?) No excuses. Today I doubt if all this really had to be done that way, even if somebody followed the protocol strictly.
To me it felt more and more like a chain around my foot which got heavier and heavier. I couldn't do my shopping or meet with a friend after work. "Mommy" will scold me if the report ist not in time!
I had to sincerely apologize one time, like Charlotte. And I did it! I felt so ashamed that she let me do it. But I have never been very good at setting my boundaries.

But things got even worse as I went on maintenance. Still, it was only one meal a day BUT it consisted of 2000 calories, mainly fat! I wanted ist so badly, but there was no way I was able to stomach all this. I force-fed myself until I had to vomit. I was sick for the rest of the day. Sometimes I even couldn't eat anything the next day because the food still was lying in my tummy. But that was noting she wanted to hear. And the reports still had to be written. In time. Business trips? She doesn't care.

I brought my own meals of course when I was away from home. Ate them cold. But imagine how appealing it is to eat several ounces of stiff lard and butter. I think a HCG meal can easily eaten cold without choking.

I wanted my life back! So I quit.

But I felt awful. And the more I realized how silly I had been to trust her and give her so much money before knowing what the rules would be. Of course HER rules, only. But she had caught me in smart way, though...

Even if all of this is now long ago and I tried to forget, I couldn't forget. I felt guilty for not complying with her and thought maybe anybody else had had the same problem. And I googled her name and her blog. And I found more information here and another place. And I must say I feel better now I know. But now I also now how foolish I was to trust a stranger in that way. But I can live with that.

I sincerely hope that others will read my story BEFORE they get trapped, too.

Wow, I'm so sorry you were caught in her trap, Cosy. Don't beat yourself up about it. it's like Charlotte said where I reposted: that shiny thing (health and weight loss) traps many of us. And when her website is so full of lies, it's easy to get caught. I hope you're doing well now.

    Please help ...!
Hello my name is Jen im on day 5 of p2 ive been doing well not eating anything that is not on the protocol. Ive lost. 2.3-1.4-.7-.8 in 4 days. Today I did the hcg pregnancy test and it did not come positive I could see the line for positive but it was like barely there. I order my injections from http://ushcgshots.com. its very discouraging I dont know what to do at this point. I called the customer service and they told me that I would have to use alot of hcg for it to come positive I shouldn't go by the test. My first round I bought them from escrow refills and they came positive everytime I tested with very few drops. Please give me some advice. Thank you guys

This is not the right thread to be posting questions. I just happened to see it luckily but if you have questions go to the Ask Grammy thread or some other thread that is set up for questions. A barely positive line is fine when you're testing your hcg solution on a test. It often depends on how it's mixed. You seem to be losing very well and if you don't have any hunger, it's likely fine. Good luck!
