Thread: HHCG weight loss journal

    OMG it was all so good and my heart is full.

    We had wine with the neighbors outside first and then traded ribs for some of their dishes. Brought a full plate to another neighbor who is shut in. Then enjoyed dinner. The P3 BBQ sauce was amazing!!!
    The pumpkin pie delicious (MissM, I am pretty sure now that I used my regular filling and only the crust from the recipe I posted, and I just used Swerve as sweetener. Less than in my normal filling recipe. And then lots of stevia sweetened whipped cream. You can make this with coconut cream too. I did that last year!)

    I ate this morning and then a big dinner. First time for nuts too. We will see tomorrow. I am full but not stuffed and I am not going to log a thing to see!

    Oh, so we had ribs, Brussels sprouts, roasted, sprinkled with balsamic vinegar and some cheese -hopefully this will be fine: vinegar has a little sugar and cheese was grated so has a starch to prevent caking; roasted cauliflower, pan fried green beans with nutmeg, creamed onions, and cranberry sauce -also sugar free.
    Family also had roasted sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes. Then 4 pies: pumpkin, pecan, apple, and cheese cake. No, I do not make my own crusts.

    And glorious red wine from our winery.

    The best though was bringing a full meal to a total stranger. She asked in a neighborhood group online if anyone would have a plate for her and I just responded. She happened to live a block from me.

    I have not yet been brave enough to succumb to a glass of red... if and when I do I usually do an extra light dry Rose, but have none at the moment... placed an order yesterday.. Girls popping over after work so fingers crossed tomorrow is good!

    I live in a community like that and often cook for someone in the community or I cook for the community freezer.... That way my love of cooking does not all have to end up on my hips!

    It really is! We have had outside food exchanges with 6 of our neighbors for all holiday celebrations since social distancing started and it has been such a highlight. Today the weather is great, and we will have a fire in our backyard to sit around and for neighbors to join. We can do so many things still with masks and social distancing.

    The winery is not ours. It is a local winery we are members of. I guess our wine club is more accurate.

    Weight 170

    This is exactly 2 pounds over LDW, and a 1.8 gain.

    It could be a number of things and I am not going to fret! I am glad it is not over 170 though! Now I can trust that this will come down. My only problem is that there are 7/8 of a keto pumpkin pie left LOL But I will skip today to be sure.

    New foods were:
    erythritol
    almond flour
    pecan
    red wine (4oz each)

    Foods I should not have had:
    Balsamic vinegar that contains sugar (I even had a bowl out to put my serving in before putting the balsamic vinegar on the rest but forgot LOL)
    Grated cheese which has potato starch on it

    Could be too small to matter, could not.

    Something made me really gassy and it is probably the erythritol. Anyway, we'll see what tomorrow brings! I sure hope there is no second-day whip! Focus today is making sure I get enough calories and eat what I know to be safe. Tomorrow, I will have some pumpkin pie again hopefully

    I probably will have some leftover ribs today but the amount of erythritol is minimal in that as I finished the BBQ sauce and so it is just the dry rub. Not like having cranberry sauce, and pie, and BBQ sauce.

    OK, so, when I don't count nor keep track, I have no idea if what I am eating is enough, and I am just a bit lost. Yesterday, I didn't keep track. Today I plugged it all into Cronometer and I did not eat enough. I am going to call it good though. I am not hungry and don't want to eat. I will plan on having some ready to heat dishes and/or cuts of meat for quick cooking or heating this week. Interestingly, keeping track means I eat better. More veggies for one.

    First day of week 3 of P3!

    Weight 169

    I guess some nuts are OK for me. YAY! I calculated there is about 1 1/2 oz of almond flour in each piece.

    Here is my pie! The crust looks darker than it is on top. I think it is the lighting. It is definitely not burnt!

    And it is what I had for breakfast! So exciting I can have this and it is sweet and a treat and I am NOT craving the whole pie! On another note, one of my kids ate MY leftover ribs... My husband suggested I make them with Swerve for everyone next year so I will.

    I do wish I was hovering more around 168 than 169 which seems where I am settling. I am fine with it weight-wise, but it means I only have 1 pound up I can go which is not much. I expect a glass of wine to put me over. At the end of this week, if I remain around 169, can I raise my LDW to 169?

    If you are consistently coming back to 169, then that is a logical number to pick as a new LDW.

    Beautiful pie! Mine didn't look that good, LOL. And congrats on not wanting to eat the whole pie. That is definitely a major win worth celebrating. Thanks for mentioning it. Not sure I realized that for the moment I seem to be past my own sugar dragon and tendency to binge on sweets, even when they're fake.

    Not sure why you couldn't raise your weight if that works for you. Why not?

    Interesting about tracking, too. I do think the practice of writing down what we eat in one way or another does make us more mindful about our choices, ie you eating more veggies. I actually loosely track what I eat in the WW app. It calculates their own point system points, but again, it's a mindfulness issue and developing that good habit that keeps me doing it.

    Thanks, Leez! I will certainly give it this whole week as it being week 3 of P3 and then a little more wiggle room for the weeks after that till my next round sounds good. I think that yes, I have consistently been around 169 as if it were 168 LOL I will double-check though at the end of the week what my average is and take out the top and bottom numbers.

    It really is especially after the last few months before I decided on this round. I just couldn't stop eating the sweets. That was really frustrating but it is what it is. I am not going to test this anymore!

    Yes, mindfulness! A very positive word that I want to embrace! Thank you!
