To conclude my thoughts on steak days, which I have yet to do fully, I think that in many situations that I will encounter, I will either jump because of an ingredient like coconut and sulfites, or from letting go because of a good meal. So far, it seems that eating normally afterward resolves the jump if I focus on eating well and normally. Well, as in, no cutting calories. This way does take trust and patience and I guess a steak day helps with this so I see the wisdom of them. I am just not sure I need them.

I also should report that eating less carbs has resulted in no hunger so I may be stuck there. Raising the carbs above 40-50g seems to just make me hungry no matter how many calories I eat that day. So weird but I tried and I am fine with it.

So back on track for me after this coconut Vital protein mix made me jump! Now maybe I can look at loading again. I have a few more days before you start, MissM but I may not make it. I am now also thinking of using the natural fasting period of my church which would start 3/15. Our Lent has been a good time for me in the past and a natural one. My family goes vegan at that time, meals are easier and simpler for them as well. If I start in Feb. I would be done and enjoy all the bacon when they are still in Lent so that is kind of hard.
Great reflections and observations here. I think you're smart to ride the waves rather than do a steak day, especially because you don't want to do one! I wasn't ever tempted to do an apple day during P2 for the reasons you suggest--that it all evens out eventually. But I've just been a bit derailed by my TOM. Must figure out how to mentally get through this. Mathematically, it's 10 days out of every month, so basically a third of my life. Get it together, Girl!!

Anyway, if you don't want to start another round just yet, of course you shouldn't! You seem to be happy and doing well exactly where you are, and if a later date makes more sense given your family rituals and context, even more reason why that's the best choice. And you know I'm serious about celebrating birthdays, so I don't blame you at all for wanting to at least wait until after that.

And I'm fine going on ahead of you and Yvonne. I know you'll pop in and cheer me on, right? I'm feeling pretty ready and motivated.

MrsS... i agree that planning a P2 must be done with careful consideration of your calendar going forward or you set yourself up for failure and you are doing just that

I also think this period of P4 and a journey back to ‘normal’ is pretty important...In the past I either went from P3 straight back into p2 or just skipping P4... but P 4 teaches us about what works and what does not work for us ....

From my side it Looks like surgery might be next Thursday so I may actually do a bit extra protein this week
