    R2 with HHCG

So I am finally able to start my second round! I was unable to before due to breastfeeding. I am in need of some serious motivation. I am an emotional eater and as a single mom, I get extremely stressed. I am currently on my second loading day (Ugh) and am looking forward to starting the VLCD tomorrow! I have let my weight hold me back for way too long. My cw as of this morning was 270.2 (yikes!). I've unfortunately been eating heavily this last month and that caused my weight to go from 255 to that I am doing a 21 day round this time and am just hoping to lose as much as I can to get as close as I can to my pre pregnancy weight (230) by my daughter's first birthday (June 14th!). I know that if I set a specific goal, that I will feel pressured and get stressed which is what I am trying to avoid. So....HERE GOES!

Here's to success! Congratulations on taking charge of things for yourself. Having children requires so much of a parent that sometimes the parents forget to give themselves a little TLC, too. :-)

I like your plan of just letting your body do what it does without a specific goal in mind. May I ask why you're doing a short round? Once you're chugging along with the protocol you might as well reap the benefits of a full 40-day round.

Have you found a nice group to chat with here on the forum? It helps to have some support.

Has anyone had to adjust their dosage on the drops? it's my first time. I started at 10 drops 3 x/s per day. NOw at 8 drops per time. Bit I still dont feel right.

I usually ask my body how many drops it wants at that time for optimal weight-loss. It can vary between 4-10, but it's usually 6-8 drops. I do the lean-test. I activate the bottle (you are activating your drops before you take them, right?), then I hold it against my chest thinking of a specific number of drops. You can feel your body pull forward if it's right or back away if it isn't. I go up or down by one until I find the number with the strongest pull forward. You can use this method to test for food sensitivities and such, too. It's handy when you don't have a healthcare practitioner to do the AK testing for you. :-)

One other thing to consider, slim, is that perhaps your body would like the fewer drops more frequently. Maybe you need 5-6 drops 4 times a day?

Hey, slimshady, I also wanted to ask, are you sure you've got the right drops? I'm sorry if you said what you're on already; I can't remember. You have homeopathic HCG/hCG? It has human chorionic gonadotropin on the label or HCG and then 6x, 8x, 12x or some such? Your bottle is HCG/hCG and you didn't accidentally get HGH or something? HGH is human growth hormone and great for muscle-building, the immune system, and such, but not so great for this diet-protocol.

Also, when do you take your drops? I suggest rising, bedtime, and then once or twice in-betwean, depending on how frequently your body wants them. They're not related to your food-digestion-process, so you don't need to do them at meal-times. Your goal should be to have an even level in your system throughout P2. It might be your body wants more for the first dose but then fewer later in the day when you've still got some floating in your system. You're also avoiding mint and other strong flavors around the time that you take your drops? You're letting them be absorbed under your tongue and not swallowing them right away? I'm not trying to tell you stuff that you already know. I'm just sorry to see you struggling so much, so I'm brainstorming on what might be throwing things off for you.

Thanks so much, WaterNai! All news to me: I wasn't activating them (what do I do, shake the bottle first or rub it betwene my hands?) I will do as you suggested and ask my body what it wants. I will try four times a day and less drops. I agree with you that I seem to do well with more drops at start of day, and perhaps trickle down later in day? Although, the end of the day is my biggest problem. I am generally taking them right before or right after meals/snacks. It's the only time I remember. How long should I hold it under my tongue? The other issue is rashes all over my legs, unexplained. It's a dry itchy rash.

Note that I did JUST FINE P2 Week 1. This is my P2 Week 2. Amd it's a mess, though again, daytime is FINE. MY drops are good, I had the ingredients checked already - real HCG.

    Here is my diet:
(8am, drops first) 1 egg, 2-3 egg whites, cucumbers (I was using spinach but dropped it due to the high histamine content and rashes on my legs to be safe)
(11am) after working out and before i swim: apple, one grossini (last week i used the melbas they were great, perhaps better)

    12pm-2pm - drops

(either 3 pm another snack or my dinner)
dinner: (between 3-5pm) lean meat chicken or steak, cucumber (i was using tomatoes, see above about histamine)
    drops after dinner

snack (7pm, if not at 3pm) 1/2 grapefutit or apple, grossini stick

    9 pm, hunger starts
by 11pmm-1am, I have to eat again bc I can't handle the real hunger. it's not emotional eating; it's HUNGER, I get very symptomatic.

Please note, before starting this diet, I had lost 9 lbs naturally over two months of exercising. So I am not tyring to break any bad habits right now.

I'm just starting R2 and loading this weekend - I begin VLCD tomorrow (Tuesday). I lost 30lbs in my first 40day round, and have kept it off for a couple months.....and enjoyed myself on/off throughout that time - its been great. Now, I'm excited to get back on a 40 day round again and lose another 25-30lbs again (I started at 254lbs and am now at 221...preload weight).

I do 10drops 3x day. I don't hold it on my chest or anything, but I do tap the bottle to activate the drops (a friend recommended that - she's lost over 75lbs on HHCG so far). I've no idea if it makes a difference but hey, I'm game for anything if it helps it work better!!

I tend to eat much of the same things throughout the days....I do eat eggs in P2 but I lose with them - some don't.

All the best to you, and feel free to keep in touch as we VLCD together!!

    Cheers
    Tera

Slimshady - 2 things come to mind while reading your posts: first, exercising & swimming sounds pretty taxing on your body in P2. Not to say that you don't need to exercise, but your body may just need the extra protein/calories to be satisfied. I have seen others do this to maintain their workout regimes.

Secondly, don't be surprised if your drops are way too many. I did my first rounds in 2010-2011. I was on HHCG drops, too. I started with 10 x 3/day. Within the first 10 days I had to drop to 8 x 3/day & by the end of my 40 day round, I was at 5 x 3/day. This time around, I am on the pellets. My instructions say 4 pellets x 3/day. I started on 02/21/14. Right now I am taking 2 pellets, twice a day & feel great! Some people are very sensitive to HCG & HHCG. I guess I am one of those. When my pellets/drop were off, I was starving in the evenings, the cravings were horrendous & my losses were slow & small. How are your losses?

Don't be afraid to tinker with either issue. Hunger is miserable & makes this protocol impossible! Good Luck to you!

@BacktoMee: Thank you so, so much for your feedback!! Good luck to you to in this round! Yes, let's support one another, I love all of the support from here, and I am so grateful to be getting some good feedback finally! Thank you for sharing about your doses. It looks like I am following a similar pattern, started at 10 drops 3x/dy, then 8, then tody I am on 6. Perhaps this will be my set point until the end of P2? I'm just still unsure what to do at night to make things most comfortable? Keep doses low and just allow myself an extra protein serving before bed? So happy to hear of your success in your first round! YAH!!! Please kepe me posted how you do!!!

@Determined10, @WaterNAI: Thank you so much for the feedback and support!!! I had been exercising consistently for several months before starting this and had already lost 11 lbs by doing this, before starting hcg. So you are right, I do feel I need extra protein. It's as if my body needs an extra meal each day. But I've been told not to do that? Do you know other who have added it in successfully? I've slowed dowon on the swimming laps in order to simmer down my hunger for the time being, but I am still doing something at least 6 days a week; just not going heavy on endurance or sprinting or anything. I am do a strength/weights class 4 days a week! Main things i I get thru the day just fine, it's nighttime that my body can;t seem to hanlde at all. I relaly feel I've run out of calories by nightime.

My losses: I started at 200, and put on alomst 2 lbs in P1 (202), so P2 week one I went down to 197. I was happy with that. The second week (this past week) I was down to 192-194, losing like 1.5-2 lbs per day. And that is when things backfired, I agined back up to 197 with all my overeating and have gotten it back down to 195 by end of week. So I had a net loss of zero this past week, but at least I got back feleing a bit more in control. Sort of.

I've also had hives and rashes. The hives cleared but for the rashes, I had to give in and start an oral steroid pack for a week. I started today and it's the first day my skin is tolerable. I was eating spinach and tomoatoes and cust those out on doctor's recommendation due to high histamine levels.

So overall I was feeling a little discouraged that I have been on this diet and suffering for half the time, and that I only lost a net of five lbs. And I don;t kiw if I can still meet my goal. But I would be happy to even lose 20 on this round, if that's all my body can manage, after such a TOUGH week. I am not giving up, I won't stop until I reach 40 days, unless my hunger continues and I can't stabilize the doses properly. But I feel confident after reading post form you all that I can do this and dose adjustment will fix the hunger. But I do feel I need 700-900 calories when working out. Any guidance on this, increasing my caloric intake, isn't that against the protocol? I am fairly liberal with my lean protein servings anyway (I am probably eating 6 oz at dinner to be perfectly honest). But the first week when I was conservative about my lean protein servings, I lost the most and consistently.

I hope my decision to have eggs inthe mornings isn't an issue. It didn't seem to affect my weight loss. I have one egg and 2-3 egg whites. I chose to eat breakfast rather than skip breakfats due to my workout schedule. So I skip lunch but use my snacks instead (apple or 1/2 grapefruit and one grossini) and I eat a very early dinner (3:30-5pm). I leave one more snack for the evening, but this is when I could use another whole meal!! When I have felt I needed more food and woken up at 1am starving, I would make a repeat of my breakfast basically.

All the best, thanks again and I can't thank you all enough!!!

Pardon me if I missed anything. :-) I'm on my phone while my computer is being upgraded. I am glad you feel supported, and I do hope we can help.

Some thoughts come to mind. Do continue to exercise, but perhaps cut back or change the type you're doing while on P2 and P3. I love swimming, but a swim workout makes me ravenous, and that's when I'm not dieting. I think you're right to look at the intensity of your swimming and such. Also, keep in mind that working the muscles to maintain muscle-mass while on P2 is good, but this really is not the time to be trying to build muscle. You need a different dietary plan for intense workouts and muscle-building. Know what I mean?

As far as your meals go, when I was looking at your eating regimen, two things stood out. It seems you're not getting a lot of bulk. Cucumbers are just not filling. Do chard and cabbage mess with your histamines? They would be satisfying, and the chard is very nutritious. Speaking of histamines, if you are suffering from allergies, you are probably carrying a lot of water-weight around as well. You are not allergic to eggs are you? Some people are. It also looked like your meals were maybe too close together. There is no reason why you cannot split your allotted protein into four smaller servings to eat throughout the day. The only thing P&I says is not to have both your fruits or all of your grissini at the same time.

So, those are my current thoughts. Let us know how things are going. :-)
