    3 lbs in one day in P3 phase

    Good Morning,

    I started P3 3 days ago. I have been introducing fats and other proteins little by little. Yesterday, however, was my birthday so I made myself a lasagna with eggplants, ground turkey, mozzarella, riccota, and homemade tomato sauce. I also had sugar free almond flour cupcakes and a glass of wine. When I wake up this morning I am 3 lbs over my LIW. I am doing a steak day today but I am very concerned. I have not been able to have a bowel movement in about a week and a half, and I am getting TOM tomorrow.

    What do I do? Am I doing anything wrong?

    I have lost 20 lbs and I really really don't want to gain them back I have worked way too hard.

    You didn't gain 3 pounds of fat overnight. You are dealing with more food volume and getting your digestion acclimated to the new foods. Both cheese and almonds are dense foods that can take a while to process. Its possible you might have a sensitivity to one or more of the items in your birthday menu, but it's more likely just a digestion issue.

    Doing a steak day today was the right thing to do.

    It's important to get your guts moving again as soon as possible. You can get immediate relief with an enema or suppository, and then start supplementing with magnesium in doses large enough to do the job. The magnesium is gentle and usually will work overnight at the right dose. Don't take fiber supplements at this point. They will make the situation worse.

    Perfect I 'll see if I can find an enema. So how many ounces of steak do I eat tonight? And is there a specific one I should stick to?

    Eat as much as you can without being uncomfortable. I can usually do about 12 ounces, but I always buy a bigger one just in case.

    Any steak is fine. For me, the fattier steak, the better the result. You can cook it in coconut oil, olive oil, or butter if it seems lean. I've used crockpot pork or beef roasts. It works the same. It can help to take some digestive enzymes with your dinner, as that is a big load of protein to digest.

    Right. Water, coffee, tea. Around a couple quarts. Then a steak and either apple or tomato at dinner.

    Personally, I have found I can use cream in my coffee all day. I don't use loads though...probably between 1-2 tsp per cup, so I don't know how far you could push that.

    hmmm, I rather not risk it since it is my first steak day ever. I'll drink coffee and tea throughout the day to keep my mind off of not eating and I am drinking a gallon of water today. Thank you so much!

    Going forward, you may wish to test your cheese and almond flour separately (3 days between tests). I think yours is mainly a volume/dense foods issue, but dairy and nuts are some of the most common food sensitivities. That can set up inflammation which means a big weight gain overnight.

    I didn't mess with the formula at all either for a long time. Its always best to do it as instructed the first few times and then experiment later. Hopefully, you won't have to do this regularly.

    Good luck with your steak day! Getting on the scale the next morning can seem like magic has happened.

    YAY!! I can't wait lol yes ill start dairy first because it seemed to work perfectly the first few days. Next week ill try nuts if I see the dairy is not the problem

    I would also recommend not combining too many foods on the same day, which seems to be when I see the biggest gains. Are you sure you aren't sensitive to nightshades (eggplant, tomatoes)? If I'd had those two things as well as the cheese and almond flour cupcakes, I'd be up by 5 lbs. overnight.

    no, I had tomatoes throughout p2. maybe I am sensitive to eggplants? I'll see tomorrow after this steak day. omg steak day is really hard lol I just had 12 oz and I am still hungry I'm about to have my tomato and then go to sleep.

    I am praying that tomorrow I will be back to my LIW or lower haha

    Next time get a bigger steak. Sometimes you are hungrier than other times. If you have leftovers, it makes a great steak salad.
