If there are folks who have food, eating, psych issues seek out an NLP Councillor in your area, hopefully referred. Neurolinquistic Programming.
No years of therapy and do you hate your mom? just .. helping pple change and they let you do the changing, and its great.
I am certified in it and going thru cert. got alot of free counseling so.. I know I'm a farmer now, crazy huh? oops didn't mean crazy.

You may be programmed to do ___________, which means you are good at programming, which means you can reprogram, its easier than you think. (not belittling your struggles here just a really good, great option for change that works and is inexpensive and you don't have to lie on a couch for 20 yrs. )

    Just sayin'
I looked this up but couldn't find a lot of info on it....is it retraining the brain?

I have not been actively involved for years but its about pple helping pple change themselves and its fairly easy

mainstream psych does not like it cuz (firstly no ins will cover unless an md firstly) and then it actually helps you so
Doing the best that I can , from where I am. All is well

Wow, I have not checked this thread for a while, needed a break from everything dealing with weight for a while. What a bunch of activity.

Yep the sesison seems a bit brutal but it really wasn't. It actually went on for another 45 mintues that was not taped. She called me out on my "know it all" beliefs. I thought I knew everything that there was about weight loss. I was a bit arrogant about the whole thing.

I measured EVERYTHING I ate, I tracked EVERY workout I did and every bit of food that went in my mouth for YEARS. I had a bodymedia fit, heart rate monitors, really nice exercise equipement. Everything that should have lead me to success. I had tons of spreadsheets that showed I had such calorie deficits that I should have been 100 pounds but still I gained. I basically was beating myself up with exercise and trying to micromanage my body and throwing all my hormones out of whack.

I did mess up my thyroid due to the years of physical demands from exercise and under eating that I did to it and I am on Armour but it was real hard to find a doctor that would hear me out about it. Even after I got on the meds I still over exercised. HCG has forced me to stop using exercise to lose weight and now I know that it never will.

She definetly is NOT for everyone and I knew what I was getting into when I saw her. It has forced me to take a hard look at why I was abusing myself (childhood issues of course). I have to let go of that tight control I was having over my body and let it heal itself.

I am still working on loving myself and stop with the self loathing talk.

This is a song from Pink that I pretty much listen to everyday and really take the words to heart.

Deep breaths for both of us
    Gramms just reiterated something lately
years of (I"m paraphrasing, I'm old, give me a littl break here) denying or holding back calories (since I was ll yrs old) screws with your metabo
    however
you did that cuz your metabo was screwed from the get go and
you bought into cal in cal out.

You go girl, take what yOU CAN USE FROm ANY "counselor" and use it and discard the rest.

I for one, thank you for sharing.

    Binging After A Failed Round

DISCLAIMER: I mostly follow Dr. Simeons protocol however, I may talk about things that are not advised in his book Pounds and Inches. Those things or items have neutral affect on me personally and do not effect my weight loss in an unfavorable way, however. I will attempt to note when something I mention is "off protocol".
