DISCLAIMER: I mostly follow Dr. Simeons protocol however, I may talk about things that are not advised in his book Pounds and Inches. Those things or items have neutral affect on me personally and do not effect my weight loss in an unfavorable way, however. I will attempt to note when something I mention is "off protocol".

Got the book after reading about it on here. Read all but the protocol part of it. Didn't really gain anything from it since my first round of HCG taught me a lot about myself. Plus reading this forum helped me gain some insight more than the book. Going to pass it around to family members and see if they can gain anything from it. Those that will actually take time to read it anyway.
Emotional eating, yes me, so any books to read to help with that? I did order a book from Amazon. Healing your emotional self and just started it.
Can anyone suggest some good books for this?

R1P2 started 6-30-11 85 days long with a loss of 39.2 pounds. Yes, I had a couple of cheats but got back on the horse!
R1P3 started 9-24-11 Maintained 5 pounds below LDW
R2P2 started after the Holidays 2011, lost 15 pounds in 30 days. Maintained great!
R3P2 started after Holidays 2012, drops didn't have HCG in them!
This protocol has taught me a lot about myself!

WHOOOHOOO made my appointment to go and see Robin next week. My main thing to work with her on is how to keep my leptin levels good while starting to exercise again. I need to figure out how to remain stable when I am done. I have been working on not weighing in everyday and not weighing my food all the time so I have been making progress but still need alot of work.

I'll let everyone knows how it goes.

This is most excellent news! Good for you. Are you going to let her Youtube a session or two?

If she wants too. I am more of a control freek when it comes to my eating and rarely ever binge so I am different in what I have seen on other videos.

BOOK CLUB ANYONE? Weight-Loss Apocalypse: Emotional Eating Rehab Thru HCG Proto

Love Robin and read the book. Her vlogs are awesome. It has helped me question my hunger when the feeling of wanting to eat creeps up. I question if it is physical or emotional. That in and of itself is worth buying 100 copies of her book. She is currently writing her second book now. I think it will be primarily addressing the emotional hunger issue.

I just finished Transformational Weight Loss. You can read it online at food sanity.com. Those concepts scare me which tells me I am still in diet mentality mode. It is making me think. I want off the diet roller coaster.

I am on VLCD33 and have not weighed since loading day1. I am MUCH less obsessive about this round because of not weighing. I plan to weigh on day 40 and to do some major mental preparation on how to sit with the result whether good or "bad". That is when the real work will be done.

I want to hang out in this group!

I have been following the Mind:Body method and Weight Loss Apocalypse since last summer, when I first found the book, and I was in the middle of my fifth and final round. Applying the hunger scale DURING the protocol was such a revelation for me. It also taught me to eat sooner into my hunger (which in turn helped me moderate the amount of food I was eating overall).

I finished my last round near Labor Day, and I haven't stepped on a scale since then. My size has been stable, I wear the same clothes day in and day out. I eat what I like, without having to micromanage or overthink anything.

I feel that I'm a WLA success story. Robin's method integrates a lot of what I was working for before I started the protocol (eating only when hungry, not eating past satiety, not eating to cover up emotions), as well as the hCG protocol, into a strategy that hits home for me, and which has brought me nothing but benefit and rewards.

Just for the record, no part of this journey is for the weak.

Carolina I'm so happy to hear about your success with WLA. I love Robin and watch her videos all the time to try to reinforce this behavior. I am finally applying the hunger scale and think I "get it". I'm back on a round because my previous rounds were just a bust and I put the weight back on.

My question for you is...do you incorporate sugar in your eating? I'm not even in P3 yet and I'm worried about P4. I'm off sugar because of the protocol and I'm feeling really good but I know sugar gets me every time. On the one hand I believe in what she says about eating what you want but using the hunger scale but on the other hand to be honest I'm not sure I am at a point to trust myself once sugar is involved in the equation...what if I can't stop?

Anyway, any input would be appreciated since you are doing it successfully

I eat everything. Yes, I eat sugar. I put sugar in my morning coffee every day. Sometimes, I have one mug, sometimes, two. Most days, that is the extent of my sugar intake. Some days, a meal of meat and veggies just will not satisfy, and the ONLY way to put a cap on my appetite is to have something sweet, with real sugar. A bite of chocolate and half a glass of milk. A cookie. A small bowl of ice cream.

One of the huge benefits for me of really embracing the hunger scale has been that I've been able to let go of any qualitative restrictions. For me, the hunger scale isn't solely about how urgently I need to eat. It is also a very finely tuned way for my body to make specific nutritional requests. One thing that happens to me is that if I find myself overdoing certain foods, I end up craving foods on the other end of the nutritional spectrum. So, if I'm eating too many carbs, I crave meat and low-glycemic veggies, until I find my balance point. And the opposite is also true: if I stay too much in the low-carb end of things, I crave starch and sugar.

This kind balance is what has worked best for me. But I am convinced that what makes it work is my willingness to put my body first, and really listen to my inner hunger, rather than let my mind override it with whatever outside concerns it thinks need to influence my eating.

To be fair, I've been working on functional eating for nearly 3 years, and it has been 2 years since I started my first round of hCG. So, I was doing hunger scale work and addressing emotional eating, without seeking weight loss from it, for a whole year before I even found hCG. During that year, I maintained and became increasingly in tune with my body's true hunger and fullness. Most people who start a weight loss program don't give themselves the time to do this, and I feel that it has been a key element in my smooth maintenance. Finding Robin, WLA, and the Mind:Body method only validated everything that I had been doing since the summer of 2010.

Excellent! Thank you for responding so quickly. I've been following Robin for almost a year and it's funny because in the beginning when I heard a lot of her stuff on diet and how they always lead to a binge and if you continue to diet and see this protocol as a diet you are doomed to fail and I didn't want to hear that lol I stopped watching her videos and was hell bent on doing it MY way....uh huh. That got me right back to square one!

I am seeing it all in a different light now and am looking forward to actually having some peace with my relationship with food. I did try to do away with the diets in the beginning of the year but I wasn't using the hunger scale as well as I could have/should have and I slowly stopped and went head first back into carbs and sugar but I know I still had a diet mentality so it couldn't help but end in a binge at some point....and it did...just like she said it allllllways does. And every time I put my dieting pants back on it ended in a binge...and now I do see what she means and I refuse to go on another diet....I'd rather be the size I am now with peace of mind rather than stay on the crazy train of purge, binge, purge, binge for the rest of my life....that's not living in my opinion. I also want to not be afraid of food! So much to think about and process.

My son does this stuff naturally lol I watch him and he's doing exactly what I'm having to study and practice.
