Thread: how to find right dose?

    how to find right dose?

Im getting ready to start my injections Friday. I did drops three years ago with great success.
    1. Is there a formula to tell me exactly how much I should be injecting?
    2. If have enough to do a 23 day cycle. If Im doing okay, and want to do the longer cycle, can I decide that after the first week or two or will it be too late then? (obviously, Id need to buy more).
Thank you for any feedback you can give me.

Most start at 150 iu. There is no real formula on where to start. It's not a one dose is right for everyone kind of thing. Unless you have more hcg in hand, you probably couldn't extend very easily since it takes about 2 weeks to get the hcg. Unless you're getting it from a local doctor.

I'd like to use the shorter, 30 gauge needles to inject 150 iu. What number do I draw to? Needle goes to 30 units
I've done a couple of rounds successfully and used my Mary Kay Timewise line of oil-free cleanser & moisturizers with no problems at all. Contact me if you would like more information and/or help selecting the right products for you.

It depends on how you mixed it. The mix is what determines the dose, not the needle.

I mixed 5,000 Fertigyn to 10 ml bac. water. Looking back, I realize I haven't mixed or dosed correctly last year & quit early. Am trying to get everything right this time. I don't know why I'm not understanding the connection between mix & needle but I read so many old posts last night and am even more confused. I prefer the 30 gauge needle & just need to know which number on that needle corresponds to 125, 150, etc. (I feel like an idiot BTW) .
Thanks for any help you can give me

The gauge is just how thick the needle is. It has nothing at all to do with dose. All that matters with dose is how you mixed it. So with that mix, you need 30 units to equal 150 iu. But since you have done previous rounds, I would start at 125 which is 25 units. You need less and less with each round.

Thank you so much-- I was injecting 15 units with the .3 cc needle - which explains why I wasn't very successful last summer. Lots of stalling , poor loss, couldn't stabilize.

15 units might have been 150 iu depending on how it was mixed. The size of the needle doesn't matter to the dose at all. It can be a .3 cc needle or a 1 cc needle and 15 units is still 15 units. All that matters is how it's mixed.

I just have to give you a HUGE thank you, Grammy, for SO MANY great tips & admonitions.

Before I had a baby and breastfed for 2 years, I did 2 rounds (got pregnant during the second!!) and lost 60 pounds. But at the beginning, I was so hungry, my naturopath and I took my dose UP to 300. It worked, and I wasn't hungry, but I also wonder if that (along with no-holds-barred eating!?!) contributed to my regaining ALLLL the weight during and after the pregnancy.

I was so misguided on dose until I was reading your advice before this round - start at 150, and if you're hungry, go DOWN, not up. I still started at 200, because 300 had worked for me (who knows what brand I had, though!) and was pretty unhappy on VLCD1 and VLCD2. I dropped to 125 for my 3rd VLCD injection and then used 150 yesterday and today and have felt like $1,000,000 since that 125iu day. THANK YOU! I'd still be hungry and grumpy and messin' around if it weren't for you!

And thank you for your admonitions around MCT oil and Coconut Oil. I'm a huge fan of Coconut Oil and I did use MCT on my first round(s) and did well... but you're not saying it will necessarily mess up weight LOSS... it's the STABILIZATION that gets disrupted by the oil. Thank you for that... only experience over time and with people trying to stabilize & maintain will give one that wisdom (and many docs don't help people that far!). So mwah!

I also want to share that I ate out last night - a much-longed-for date with girlfriends. Through the kindness of a thoughtful waitress and the patience of the kitchen, I got this wonderful "fish taco" without the tortilla or any of the things they would normally put on it: just served atop cabbage, with a side of tomatoes and mixed greens (I know a little veggie mixing works okay for me). With lemon juice and fresh cilantro and black pepper as my self-styled "dressing" it was truly satisfying and delicious. I felt so proud and happy. And I was down 1.8 pounds this morning.

Profoundly thankful for this protocol, this forum, and Colleen. Hope everyone finds their right dose and their groove, because it feels SO good!

That taco sounds yummy! And good for you that you spoke up and insisted on what would work for you. Many won't do it and end up messing things up. Glad I was able to help and you're feeling so much better!
