I agree. I try not to use any oil other than coconut or olive. And I never use olive oil for cooking. I only use it in salad dressing or for drizzling over food after it's been cooked. Canola oil comes from a toxic plant, corn oil is more than likely GMO (not to mention will probably cause you to gain weight) and soy is just plain bad in any form.

So Colleen, I read through 43 pages and then got tired of reading. I didn't see where you did more than one steak day. Did you try another after keeping off the initial 3lbs, and did you lose more, and keep it off also?
My silver bullet is think cut, fast fry pork chops. I make mushrooms with them... I only ever do this when I have had issues and do it typically once a week. I fry them in coconut oil... I have never not had a drop in weight the days I have done this. I almost want to only eat pork chops, but you know it would stop working and then the back up plan would be shot. This is on P2.

Is flash point the same as smoke point?
Different Olive oils have different smoke points, and some are around 400-450 degrees, which isn't bad. This chart compares the smoke point of several oils.
I've used olive oil for years. In the pan to brown chicken breasts, and on the whole bird when roasting. Is this bad?
I'd heard it was bad, but then read otherwise and saw this yesterday.
Also, learned it from this book I read: world's healthiest way of eating/cooking
Not just olive oil either. btw, the Greek stay so healthy by eating lots of greens and pouring olive oil on them. they don't cook with, they just pour it on everythign and dip everything in it.
