I looked back and the thing I haven't had the past few days is cocoa crack, that's the only common denominator I could come up with!
i gained with cocoa crack and coconut oil. i did better with butter. i had issues with the xylitol..terrible cramping.

Grammy! I just got on the forum, after some difficulty. My question is: if I go on/off/on/off over the course of a few months (as in--I fell off the wagon consistently), at what point is it too much, and in need of a "rest" from the diet/hcg. I am a professional pastry chick, and sometimes the tastings get the better of me. But going into fall, I need to focus and nail this round, since Christmas is not far behind.

Also, I'd love some accountability in this area, and hope I can find that here!

    Thanks a million!!

Grammy I'd like your personal advice. I have been researching this diet for 2 years. I had to put it on hold while breastfeeding and followed by an unexpected pregnancy. The baby is now 8 months, eating mostly solids throughout the day. I have noticed I'm starting to feel off physically and mentally. I can't loose weight postpartum like my other pregnancies even though my eating habits are cleaner. My hormones are shifting, I'm getting lethargic and I'm showing many symptoms of fatigued adrenals. I'm torn between my vanity, my sanity and my maternal instincts. Would you recommend focusing on restoring my adrenals first, waiting for HCG diet until baby is older (I don't usually wean until 2 yrs old) or could I try the diet with an increased calorie intake and see if it balances out my adrenals? I feel like if I don't do something in a month or two I'm going to take a turn for the worst. So I have to make changes now. Ant advice would be welcomed.

pastrychef, you must take the prescribed breaks for the best results. I emailed you a few minutes ago.

Adalia, I wouldn't do it while you are nursing. Try the 28 Day Fast Metabolism Diet until the baby is weaned. It will help your adrenals and other hormones. Good luck!

Hi grammy..So it looks like I'm not stabilizing..I've had about 3 or 4 SD's, from which I lose each time. I eat a normal P3-I eat enough, nothing unusual (nuts, yogurt, eggs) and I have a big gain (over a pound). I did drops, but they are the real deal. This is round 3 for me..Is there a way to maintain? I'm close to P4-I will not be eating P4 for a while-I just don't understand. I've been okay the other rounds in P3..I just can't see how doing a steak day, losing, then gaining after eating normally is the way to go! I am an advocate of intermittent fasting, but I didn't want to start that until I was stable and into P4 for a while..if I start that soon, will it mess me up even more do you think?
Anyway-any advise you can offer would be appreciated! Thanks grammy.

kitty, you should try cutting out nuts. They may be the problem. they are for a lot of people. Dairy is common too.

nija, stalls are normal. They are nothing to worry about.

    hi!
Chicken, beef, fish, avocados, veggies (all non starchy) ww. cream(dairy, but only a little) cheese here and there, but not a lot and no real issues, coconut oil, shrimp, coconut flour(only once) eggs on occasion, yogurt on occasion (with no big gains the next day) fruit-mostly blueberries and strawberries-with no reaction. It's pretty random--some days I will eat a bunch of things and nothing, then same another day I will have a big gain. Weird!!!!!!!!! Thanks again

Dairy sensitivity can take a while to show up. You can't base it on the very next day with things causing inflammation. I would strip out all dairy for a week and see if you have no more gains like that.

    Hi Grammy,

I am supposed to start P4 today, but am not sure exactly what that means. I've seen that I shouldn't go crazy, and to try adding things in slowly, but how long between news foods should I wait? I'm scared because P3 was a cakewalk for me! I never gained much at all, stabilized perfectly, and ate tons of eggs, dairy, and nuts. This makes me think that it's probably gluten that was my issue before, so I want to be super careful with P4!

My P3 menu has been an egg scramble with lots of veggies, avocado, and cheese for breakfast, a salad with chicken and veggies/fruits for lunch, and lots of steamed veggies (artichokes, green beans, broccoli, etc.) and meat for dinner. I would snack on cashews and almonds all day when I got hungry. How should I start incorporating P4 foods? I'm so confused. Should I try eating a sandwich or wrap for lunch, wait a few days, and then try adding sweet potato or potatoes? Should I hold off on those, and start with something like quinoa? Should I forget P4, and stay on P3 for the next three weeks since I have one last round planned for the beginning of September? Thanks so much for your help! I just haven't been able to find too much information on easing into P4 . . .
