    Hi Grammy,
Hope you are feeling better. Good news! A steak day dropped me 3.5 pounds down and exactly to my LIW. Phase 4 is hard. I have not added any new foods as I have had trouble since Phase 3 Day 18 staying the same. Today I am going to eat phase 3, maybe for a few days until stable. Hope to stay here. Any post steak day tips? Is normal phase 3 eating ok or should I only be doing high protein? Thanks, RK

Grammy, do you mind if I ask did you do the diet on your own or go through a doctor/clinic?

Just browsing the board, you are a better resource about the diet than the doctor I paid $$$$$$ who won't return a call.

Hi Grammy, a few FMD questions:

Mayo - says safflower oil is only mayo that's OK. What about canola oil mayo? I have TJ's organic
Fish - Tilapia is not listed as OK. Does that mean it's not OK, or is the list of fish just not exhaustive?
Bread - trying to go gluten free...can I eat homemade gluten free bread as one of my grains? How about homemade from a mix (it does have egg and coconut milk in it)?

Thanks! I hope you are dong well :-)

rkthin, nuts can really be a problem. You're better off to snack on something else. Try eating every 2-3 hours the day after the steak day. Good luck!

Island Girl, thanks for the good wishes. No you shouldn't do FMD in P3. You HAVE to eat the grains in FMD and no grains are allowed in P3 so don't start it until the beginning of P4 where you can add in the grains. You don't want to derail your good results. Glad you figured out that dose problem. I hate it when doctors prescribe such a high dose.

Quirky, i have never heard that about the hhcg drops. Yes you measure your meat raw. Make sure you read Pounds and Inches because that has all that information in it. No coconut oil on your skin. Perrier is fine.

Imafirework, some people do react sometimes. Do you know how it was mixed? I hope it was with bacteriostatic water and not with just saline. Also make sure to let the alcohol dry after yo swab your skin. You might be reacting to that.

2012, you should only have paid attention to your hunger in the evening of your skip day. You can't base it on how you felt earlier because it takes a while for the levels to fall. I can't really tell you what to do since you didn't say how you felt after dinner. That's the ONLY time that matters on a skip day.

Phoenix, I did one round with a doctor and the rest with myself. I love having the freedom to adjust the dose and not be told something wrong by someone who is only in it for the money.

Grammy - This answer is particularly appropriate for what I'm questioning! Today is skip day for both Hubby and myself. Just ate dinner an hour early because we were both hungry, and we're both still hungry when done. Does that mean our dose is too low, or is that normal?

It's 7 there so it should be getting better if the dose is right. What dose are you on? And I see by your profile you intend to switch to pellets. I wouldn't do that if I were you. Shots are the tried and true method.

Hunger is much better right now, so I am guessing the dose is correct. I am doing 32 units (=160) and hubby is doing 34 units (=170). We both started at 30 units and titrated up just a bit based on evening hunger. Today was our first skip day, tho, and I was surprised at my hunger/cravings. If there had been some junk food in the house, dunno if I could have resisted temptation, and hubby had the same problem. We'll stick with this dose and see how it goes this week.

Oh, need to change my profile. Shots are definitely better all around, just was going to start on pellets if my RX didn't make it by Thanksgiving. Also had to order a couple more vis to get us thru a long round.

Thanks so much for your help, Colleen, much appreciated!

Hi Grammy. You replied to my comment over in the clinical depression thread, and I've been reading the link you send me. So I apparently had the useless test (TSH) done, but the more I think back and read that site, I also remember her saying something about checking my pituitary function (unrelated symptoms). I'm afraid I wasn't at the top of my game at the time, so I'm sort of piecing it together as I look through all the lab work I had done. She also tested my vitamin D levels (which were apparently low and I was on two rounds of the weekly rx dose without much effect).

So, a couple of things I'm curious about. I read the list of symptoms and although some of them are familiar (I've gotten migraines since my teens, for instance), most are not. I have an HMO through work so my maneuverability there is limited, and the "self service" lab you linked to in another thread can't provide services to MD residents. Do you think this is something I should be worried about? If so, I think my only other option would be to find an off-plan doctor who is willing to do the tests, and pay for it myself. Or are there natural (non-rx) ways of supporting thyroid function as well?
