Is this the book you mentioned:

yep, that's it! I've been on it for two days and the pesky pain in my thumbs is definitely better. she says the problems for many aren't the foods we think they are. They are things like salmon and asparagus. Very interesting!

I printed out the list...I can't believe the foods that were most reactive are my go to standards! No wonder I couldn't lose weight on my own! Very eye opening!

I am in my last week of p3r2 and have stabilizing pretty well. I wouldn't mind losing a few more lbs. Would you suggest Fast Metabolism Diet or Healthy Trim Mama? Thanks so much for your help!!!

That is pretty interesting about the book of trigger foods - I would expect that it's not a blanket condemnation of certain foods but has to do with figuring out your own body chemistry reactions to different foods? Or there are some culprits for everyone? I glanced through the intro at Amazon -- curious about what foods are mentioned in the book as problematic beyond what was mentioned in that intro.

Some 'health foods' definitely make me miserable in some sensitivity way. One day on which I'd felt best in a while (a while back) and stabilized fine with, started with cappuccino, moved on to copious dark chocolate with almond butter and pecans and a little more coffee, segued into a double-double In 'N Out cheeseburger (lettuce-wrapped) and capped off with scotch and Diet 7Up. There might've been a chunk of cheese in there too. It was a beautiful day of clarity, energy and satiation without any weight gain then or the next several days. I have oddly effective go-to snacks that actually work for me.)

Now if I can figure out what I did recently that sent me up a couple pounds ... might've involved stress and not enough sleep but I am eyeing the eggs and thinking I like burgers better anyway.

rese, Here you go. The reactive list. I googled and found it as soon as pp posted about printing it. It is extensive but she says most people only react to 3-4 items.

Grammy, I am awaiting the results of your experimenting with this. Thanks for reading it and telling us about it.

Tiki, that doesn't mean YOU react to them. You can't really go by that list. You have to test the foods yourself. If you're reacting to a food, you'll gain .5 pounds. Otherwise you will lose .5 pounds a day on her diet, according to the book.

Stephanie, Trim Healthy Mama is less restrictive and the recipes are awesome.

My weight was up its usual 5 pounds from traveling to Atlanta. I started The Plan before I'd lost that 5 pounds and after 2 days of her protocol, I'm back where I was. So now the real test begins.

    Interesting, too, about water...

    - drink your daily water by 7:30pm
    - divide weight by two and.that is the amount to drink daily in ounces; drink more if hot weather or with exercise (or if alcohol is consumed--which is a no-no anyway on hCG.)

Too much water, PLUS after 7:30 pm, can show a weight increase.

Drinking more OR LESS water is just as detrimental to weight loss. Drinking more than is needed overtaxes the body with stress to the kidneys--and thus retain water.

More water is not better; just right is just right.

Remember, water after 7:30 pm likely shows as a gain the next morning. (No wonder!!)

Maybe it's too soon to know, but what do you think about lasering food(s) that cause a problem vs the method of "The Plan?"

Does she saw anything about counting coffee or tea as water or to drink more water because of the caffeine in them? What about if you go to bed early, do you change the cutoff time? DH goes to work at 5am so he goes to bed early and I tend to go(not as early as him) but earlier than most people. Usually by 9pm. Sometimes earlier.
