Thread: Ask Grammy

If a person, for whatever reason, finds they simply cannot adhere to the 500 calorie food list during Phase 2, is it better for that person to stop the program all together, or continue to a week on his or her individualized modified low carb, high protein diet of aprox. 700-750 calories to see how much weight is being lost? At this time, the person in this hypothetical example is continuing to lose aprox. one pound per day.

Thank you for your advise in this matter.

Mish, I wouldn't think it would be just from a cold sore. What did you eat in the last two days? I wouldn't do another steak day just yet unfortunately.

lkcaj, I don't like to advise about hypothetical situations.

Hey Grammy! Yea, I wasn't sure but bc I had such inflammation I thought it could be why? I'm sooo annoyed w this thing on my lip!! Never had one! And almost 4lbs in one day?!

    Yesterday:

    Bfast-8oz salmon w 1/2 avoc

Lunch-150-200g shrimp w homemade cesear (minus egg/Parm), romain, cherry tomatoes. 1/2 avoc

Dinner-8oz NY Strip w spinach, cherry tomatoes, asparagus, brocc

All cooked with evoo or the animal fat rendering. Is that "clean no carbs"? Am I not eating enough carbs? I know you warned against that, but my FMD books just came yesterday, so I was going to plan to start tomorrow.

Also had some cocoa crack. More than usual, but not a lot. I could probably, definitely drink more water. I'm still kinda backed up, if you know what I mean
Kats said to eat "clean and no carb". Does what I ate yesterday constitute as that? I'm not sure exactly what that means
I decided to give it a shot and ate about 8oz of salmon and approx an oz of NY Strip just before...no veg, bc I'm not clear on the "clean high protein no carb" thing.
Was going to eat some steak every 3-4 hrs and drink lots of h2o. What you think??
    Thanks Grammy

Oh...yesterday, I also had my apple for day snack, strawberries for dinner snack. And coffee w stevia
Should I leave out my fruit today, as well as avocado, veg (brocc?), and cocoa crack?

If you're about to start FMD, I wouldn't worry about it. A no carb day would mean no fruit though. Have you ever had a reaction to shrimp? It's a very common food sensitivity.

Hmm...I don't think so? I have shrimp fairly regularly, during P2 and after. I was actually thinking that mushrooms may have been giving me issues (sadly), so in it them out a few days ago, and seemed to be doing fine after. But maybe it was the shrimp? I'll leave it out today and see what happens. Hopefully not!!
What about veg? Should I eat that today too? And the avocado and evoo?
I have the FMD stuff, but I don't know if I feel prepared enough to start tomorrow. Do you recommend starting in a Monday? Any advice for starting?

Jules, that's not a good idea. What dose are you on? Are you having any hunger?
Not any hunger to speak of - in fact, sometimes i don't feel like eating at all. Not sure about how to determine the dosage as this is the first time I have mixed and filled myself. (Sorry for the ignorance.) I am injecting 150 units daily. does that answer? I have 6 shots left, but did not inject this morning, not being sure of direction to go. I have lost 25.5. (Addendum) I think I've got the answer you are looking for. The powder was 7,000 U and I mixed with 7ml.

I like starting on a Monday so the weekend is in P3.

Then you are pulling out 15 units for your shot, Jules? Doubling the dose is a crazy idea. Not sure who told you that but whoever it was doesn't understand the protocol very well.

Mish, cocoa crack is not carbs. It's all fat. But has quite a lot of calories.

enblab, you aren't giving enough information. How long were you off? What method are you using?

Hi Grammy, I am getting ready to start R5 this Friday using hucog instead of corion on your advice. Now I have a dosing question. First, my sweet spot dose on R1 was 125ius(ushcg) and on R4 it was 85ius(corion). I waited 27 1/2 weeks between R4 and R5(minimum is 20weeks). Do you think I should begin the round higher than where I left of R4 since 1)I waited almost 2 extra months and 2)I am using hucog instead of the stronger corion this round. If so, what dose would you suggest is a good starting point. I am torn between 100 and 125. I realize that wherever I start, I will probably have to adjust a little. Thank you for all your help!!! I would feel lost if I couldn't come here and enjoy all the great advice you give to myself and to others.
